Faced with the minotaur up close, Dario suddenly realizes how overmatched he might be. Still, he knows the others are helping and he steps forward to drive his rapier at the huge creature.

Activate Archaeologist's Luck (with Fate's Favored). +2 to nearly everything. (2 rounds used)

Kyroden makes his way through the underbrush and over the log, barely avoiding slipping into the fast moving water before throwing a vial a the minotaur. The glass tube hits the beast and explodes.

Dario moves in, just after the bomb explodes, stabbing at the minotaur and scoring an impressive hit.

The minotaur lets out a howl that's equal parts rage and pain, before turning to glare at Dario.

Turn order: anyone bolded still can act before the minotaur. And remember this is the last round of Janira's inspire courage.

Kraggan drops his bow, draws his sword and casts Shield on himself.

Caikahn, you're too close to charge. You need to move at least 10 feet and end in the closest space to your target. You're only 5 feet from the minotaur. You can 5-step in and smite.

With a might prayer, Caikahn moves in toward the monstrous beast and cut a long slash along the creature's side, earning another cry of rage/pain.

@DM, If it matters...I charged from my last position. Prior to saving the map I was 20' away.

@Caikahn: it's up to you, looking back I don't see you at 20 back (puts you on the other side of the river). You hit without the charge so it's not that big of deal.

Naomi will move up but then casts silent image to make several of herself in a small cloud of fog.

The plan is that next turn she will move closer (into flanking if she can manage it) and make her fake selves feint attacks to try to keep him off balance hopefully less likely to hit her if he attempt to while making him distracted from additional "threats."

Naomi carefully moves across the log, narrowly avoiding slipping into the water as a rather large wave crashes up along the log. Making it the other southern side, she casts her spell causing a group of her to appear.

With a roar the minotaur glares at the group surrounding it.

Full attack. First battleaxe vs Janira, Second at Caikahn, Gore at Dario.

The minotaurs axe catches Janira as she tries to avoid the beast. The blow doesn't drop her, but you watch as she is barely able to stay on her feet. The minotaur then turns it's burning eyes on Caikahn and lashes out with it's axe, only to have the attack be dodged easily.

Finally with a low beastial growl the minotaur brings it head around and lunges at Dario, catching the professor with it's massive horns.

Dario screams as the minotaur tears at his body with its horns. He tries to spin away and stab at the beast again.

The minotaur spots Kraggan moving in and swings it axe at him.

Kraggan's sword bites deep into the minotaur, followed shortly by Caikahn's and Kyroden's own attack. Each one landing solid blows on the beast.

Kyoden, do you have something that increases the mace's threat range? A heavy mace only crits on a 20.

As the blows rain down on the minotaur, it's too much for the creature. It's knees buckle and with a low rolling groan the minotaur falls to the ground. It's still breathing, but slowly.

Janira looks awed between you all. "Amazing, you defeated the beast. That is just amazing. Thank you all."

"Well we aren't slouches, but he did ignore attempt at distraction. Is it not real looking enough?" she asks unconcerned about having just met a living minotuar, all the while her carefully crafted selves take to looking around or examining the fallen beast, though the foggyness fades. "I have fooled a great many people, and entertained many more, but never have I been ignored." all of her persons look rather unhappy about that, then they break into a an acrobatic vicktory performance that can't be entirely real though some of her doubles suddenly are dressed like her companions, ending with each version of her melding into each other until only one of her remains. "I am losing my touch?"

Ignoring the devil spawns mutterings then kicking the Minotaur Caikahn looks over at Janira,
"You want this thing alive?"

Janira shakes her head at Caikahn and turns away before the final blow.

"So now that that unplesantness is done with. Why don't you tell me what you managed to learn about the cave. I assume that you were able to explore it and found out something about why the gillmen are here."

Kyroden looks at esteemed leader and says We found a place of worship for the dead god Aroden. We also found a miniature city of Absalom. The place is considered sacred. kyroden will go around healing anyone as needed.

Dario shows Janira the sketches from his journal. "We also met a Gillman there who was worshipping. Their worship is of the waters themselves but he also confirmed the sanctity of the site."

Wiping her blade on the minotaur's clothing she searches the beast for random bits and pieces...

Caikahn finds nothing on the minotaur except his broken battleaxe and a few javelins.

"Aroden you say? Amazing, I never would have expected that this cave held something like that. So do you feel the caves have been explored adequately, or is there anywhere else you feel you should explore?"

"There is at least one other tunnel we could explore. We came this way cause we heard a fight."

"Yes, we can backtrack and show you the cavern. Then we can take the other branch and explore it."

I agree that we should look in the caves. Kyroden says.

Caikahn nods her agreement.

Kraggan agrees as well

"Yes, I believe you should explore the rest of the cave, but I will not go in with you. this is your confirmation. I was just your guide. I will read all about it once you finish. Now, I will wait for you at the mouth of the cave."

Shouldering his bag Kraggan nods. "Very well then. You best find yourself a good hiding spot though. We don't know what kind of scavengers will be attracted by this corpse."

With a last look at the forest Kraggan draws his bow and moves back into the cave.

Kyroden shrugs his shoulders and touches his pouch to confirm that he has journal.
He then says Let us return to the cave.

The Professor follows Kraggan back into the cave. "It seems odd that she isn't in seeing the caves. But I suppose this is a sort of test for us, isn't it?"

Kraggan grunts his agreement, then slows and turns to the Professor: "Say Professor Westone, didn't we give you a curative wand from Janira's pack? The minotaur's axe hurt me grievously, and you're bleeding from a deep wound as well. Maybe we should first take care of our wounds before continuing. I for one desperately need some healing magic."

Kyroden offers to heal you both.

Kraggan bows his head "That would be most welcome indeed!"

Following the path back through the caves, you find yourself back in the main cavern. Uori remains kneeling in the water, seemingly oblivious to your arrival. Across the way you can see the second exit heading to the west.

On the way back through, Dario pulls out the wand Janira had given them. He heals himself and then Kraggan.

Back in the cavern, he motions for the others to move on. "Let's go and not disturb him."

Drawing her sword Caikahn heads west.

Kyrodoen moves with Paladin to the west. His mace is drawn and there is a smile on his face. I am having a good time at this. I wonder what else we can find!

Moving through the cavern quickly, you pass Uori without disturbing him and continue your way out via the eastern exit.

The cave’s damp air becomes increasingly stale as you continue down through this tunnel, and as take several sharp corners, the stench of decay grows increasingly evident. The passage turns to the east and opens into a small cavern littered with bits of broken glass, rotting pieces of paper, and other unusable detritus. The body of a male dhampir lies facedown toward the back of the cavern.

Standing silently around the room are 3 zombies, that look to have been raised from Gillmen bodies. They turn dead eyes toward you and with a groan move to attack.

Naomi forgoes any magic this time and moves next to Kraggen and slashes at the zombie with Dalraga, her Elven Curve Blade.

Yes Dario, you know that the zombies are resistant to anything but slashing.

Kyroden reaches out and touches the zombie, his magic passing over the undead. The creature reacts but seems to shake off most of the power.

Just as Kyroden pulls his hand back, Caikahn rushes in, his massive sword swinging down. But the sword swing misses the zombie and cuts a furrow into the ground next to it.

Dario slip in between the paladin and alchemist to slash at the zombie, scoring a decent hit with his dagger.

Kraggan and Naomi move up to confront the other group of zombies. Both of their swords inflicting telling blows against the creature, dropping it to the ground.

:Zombies' Turn:
The creature's eyes turn on Dario just before the thing lashes out, striking the professor hard.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16 Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

The remaining zombie groans at the small creature before it before attacking. It's rotting fist connecting hard against the sorceress's cheek.
