| Gruknuk |
"Uh, hi, I'm Gruknuk. I keep the city clean and free of rats. All hail the Inevitables, y'know."
| Geesyl Graftfinger |
"Well hello mister, I'm Geesyl Graftfinger,Axiom's (somewhat) successful rehabilitated delinquent. Curious as ever. I mean, who are the Inevitables anyway?"
| Korza Ren |
"You can just call me Master Sorceress (in training) Korza. And between you and me, I'm more interested in getting away from the Inevitables. They keep everything so dull around here."
Kelrot
|
Kelrot looks over at Lucatiel. He appears to be measuring the half-elf up. "Hey I know you! Lost more than a few coin at the races because of you too!" He says with a wry smile.
| Geesyl Graftfinger |
Geesyl stares for a few seconds, awestruck at the possibility of teaming with Lucatiel. Such fame and style.
What a group of misfits! I might finally fit in here. I can't wait to leave this prison. I hope that we leave soon.
| Saria Dalavon |
"*squee* I get to see beyond the wall finally! I can't wait!"
I know - it's so exciting! And just think of the fascinating people we'll get to meet! There's so much we'll be able to learn from them... Re-shuffling a fancifully-carved shield on her back, she offers a strong, angular hand. Saria, by the way - priestess and healer, to make sure you don't get bloodied up too bad!
Sorry, things got crazy one me right in time for recruitment to close! XD
| Gruknuk |
Gruknuk's grating voice can be heard once more. "Ah, yeah. I'll be honest, this whole 'outside' thing scares me a little bit. But I think I like that." An unnerving grin full of meticulously sharpened teeth spreads across the unsightly creature's face.
| OllieTwist |
This is a tad later than I meant for it to be going up, but the gameplay thread for this game is up and running right over here!
| Lucatiel |
Kolret: Usually people pick a language from google translate and use that for the post and spoiler what you wanted to say.
Like so: "Možete pronaći pravi jezik koji to zvuči kao ono što ti misliš da bi trebalo ili izabrati nasumično."
Kelrot
|
Went with survival but neglected Sense Motive. I may want to put some points in it later. I think this may be the least skilled character I have ever played lol.
Thanks Luca that make sense and looks quite a bit better than what I originally did.
| Gruknuk |
At least we've got a cleric with a sweet, sweet wisdom bonus
Kelrot
|
I would be fine with that. I will most likely stick with Hmong for Goblin, but for the other languages that sounds great.
| OllieTwist |
Yeah, I'll keep that as Hmong, since it's already been used.
Elven: Arabic
Dwarven: Spanish
Human: Filipino
Orc: German
Halfling: French
Goblin: Hmong
Gnome: Zulu
Terran: Greek
Aquan: Hindi
Auran: Bosnian
Ignan: Punjabi
Draconic: Mandarin Chinese
Sylvan: Thai
Infernal: Czech
Abyssal: Croatian
Celestial: Ukrainian
Undercommon: Turkish
| OllieTwist |
Yeah, not a problem. I mean, for practicality's sake, Common is always English, because that's what we're speaking and writing in - I'd just assigned Esperanto as a nod, since it was created with the intention of being a sort of "common tongue", something that's easy to learn and use regardless of your first language. It's got pretty much the same origin and practical use as Common does in-universe.
Granted, that explanation was the only purpose having that in the list served, so now it's out on the table there's not a whole lot of point keeping it in there, haha.

So is the game done before it started? I want to play this build, but it isn't looking great. No DM in over 3 days
| Korza Ren |
I'm hoping that's not the case. I'm gonna give them the benefit of the doubt and say something came up. It is right around that part of april...
| OllieTwist |
Yes, I'm definitely still here! I'm very sorry for the delay, unfortunately work has decided that now is the time to open the gates of hell directly onto my face, so my work days have been 11-12 hours long and my energy levels have absconded to places I have yet to discover. Which isn't a whole lot of an excuse not to write a paragraph or two a day, but. That's where I've been, and I'll be making a very concentrated effort to stop being there, because I have plans and will be very disappointed if they never see the light of day.
| Geesyl Graftfinger |
I think it is an OK excuse. I GM some games and our work computers got a virus and swamped me for three days. I'm still trying to catch up.
| Korza Ren |
I definitely get that. Stuff happens and life gets in the way. Just be sure to take care of yourself, the game will still be here.
| Geesyl Graftfinger |
Quick question. I have neglected to give this character a profession or craft. Is there someway that she can make some coins before heading out?
| OllieTwist |
I'd be alright with allowing profession to be something you could make untrained, you'd just never really be able to make a whole lot with it. Since there is also only three days before leaving Axiom, you also likely won't be able to make much.
If you would like to, though, Rashid doesn't really have any problems with the party owing him some gold. So, if there's something you'd like to buy and would be alright with just paying the gold later, then that's also an option.
Kelrot
|
No worries! Stuff happens. I am just still new to this and wasn't sure. Already had one DM just disappear on me lol.
| Geesyl Graftfinger |
I thought that it would be smart to grab the hot weather outfit and water skins since we don't really know what the desert is like.
Kelrot
|
Kelrot would have too much pride to borrow money, but I am still interested in trying to make a little extra scratch through some bouncer or bodyguard work
| OllieTwist |
I don't think there's going to be a whole lot of money to be made with the way profession works - with the roll you made for Kelrot, he'd be making 7gp, but that's assuming a whole week's work, of which you have about half.
Either way, I threw up a post for, at the very least, what the party may have learned and what the caravan's been up to, but I do have another follow up that will be going up tomorrow.
Kelrot
|
Was kicked out of the guard a week before they arrived. Don't have anywhere to go. It's been a rough couple of weeks for Kelrot. He grew up poor and is now doing what he has to to get by before we leave.
| Korza Ren |
Don't forget the ex-con elf and the sorcerer with anger management problems. :p
It makes perfect sense if the folks in charge aren't expecting the mission to succeed though. Either they're wrong and send the real diplomats on the second trip, or they're right and it's no big loss.
| OllieTwist |
To be fair, let's look at the people Alran sent to Axiom. You've got Rashid, who has way too much money and not enough sense, and Iryna, whose image is found in the dictionary next to the phrase "Lawful A+&*$+@". Important figures or not, this is entirely kind of a weird group to try and foster diplomatic relations with, haha.
| Gruknuk |
Gruknuk's only got goblin and common, but I've got room in my build for a point in linguistics :)
| Geesyl Graftfinger |
I can be the go-between since I share one language with everyone, but that will get cumbersome if it happens too much. We could agree on a language to choose for the next level. Probably an obscure one that most don't speak.
Kelrot
|
The most obscure language I speak is Draconic. We can always have Geesyl communicate to the elven speakers, and I can go between Gruknuk and Gorza since I speak both Orc and Goblin (lol at the fighter being tied for the most languages and for the highest int ). Probably better to just figure something else though. That sounds like a lot of translating
| Korza Ren |
I'm fine with learning Draconic or Goblin. It's a bit metagamey, but I find that I usually encounter more npc's that speak draconic than goblin.
