Action Surge
Starting at 2nd level, you can push yourself beyond your normal limits for a moment. On your turn, you can take one additional action on top of your regular action and a possible bonus action.

Once you use this feature, you must finish a short or long rest before you can use it again. Starting at 17th level, you can use it twice before a rest, but only once on the same turn.

Arcane Tradition: War Magic

Arcane Deflection
At 2nd level, when you are hit by an attack or you fail a saving throw, you can use your reaction to gain a +2 bonus to your AC against that attack or a +4 bonus to that saving throw.

When you use this feature, you can't cast spells other than cantrips until the end of your next turn.

Tactical Wit
Starting at 2nd level, you can give yourself a bonus to your initiative rolls equal to your Intelligence modifier.


Make sure to add your updated init to your status line or I will often forget it.

The loot spreadsheet looks like it hasn't been updated, so I went back through the story and did a quick review of our loot. Here's what we have, minus me deciding not to bother with some stuff. I don't want to bother splitting half of 1 sp between 4 people, just so we can sell a freaking club. Some loot just isn't even worth carrying out of a dungeon.

• 12 gp + 300 gp + 50 gp = 362 gp
• 2 silver holy symbols (?) gp
• 4 scimitars = 100 gp *.05 = 50 gp
• 4 light crossbows (Luthar took 1) = 75 gp * 0.5 = 37.5 gp
• rapier = 25 gp * 0.5 = 12.5 gp
• shield = 10 gp * 0.5 = 5 gp
• splint armor (Traded with Horat's chain mail) = 75 gp * 0.5 = 37.5 gp
• boots of striding and springing (Offered to Katra. Unsure if she accepted) = (?) gp

So far that's a grand total of 504 gp, 5 sp. Each player would get 126 gp, 1 sp, 3cp

Note: We don't know what the holy symbols are worth. I use Investigation checks to determine value of loot in my own games. But that's my own house rule.

My level up won't be quite as thrilling as my spellcasting companions. :-)

Ok, so I'm going Champion for my martial archetype. And Path of the Zealot for my Barbarian Path.

From Champion I get Improved Critical, which is nice. Lets me roll crits on a natural 19 or 20.

And for Zealot, I get Divine Fury, which adds 1d6 + 1/2 Barbarian Level in radiant damage to my first successful attack every round. I also get Warrior of the gods, which means if Halgrin dies a caster can ignore material components to bring him back to life.


Nice, Halgrin! I see the crit build coming together now.

I know that riddles and puzzles are part of the genre, but often times I find that I don't quite get them, except in hindsight.
