I use one of the cooler parts of the lace that let's me link to tech. I can talk to them and give them reasons like: its in his best interest and its to keep him from hurting himself or others.

I would just go with whatever you plan on doing Dave, and worry about how Tybs was kept in the dark till later.
This way, you don't have to wait on Lyn to move foreward what is basically a personal plot. Tybalt can still attempt to catch up and stop you, but I would definitely have you just sneak past him.

Good point. Its like with my parents. People don't think we can tell the difference between this game and real life. I think theyd be a little more loose though. The alchemist gets an infusion that is basically acid. Polypurpouse panacea: the used gains a relaxing or entertaining affect. That is really worse than a plant cats like.

Re: catnip....yeah, no. The only way to play it without breaking the guidelines is to turn it into a 'social issue', see also 'a very special episode' and let's just not. Plus, Tybs has already established himself as very anti-drugs.
re: nanites: you can try communicating with them, but you'll get nowhere. they take orders from Aananda only. But they will be kind enough to inform her that you've been trying to tamper with the system. If Tybs tells her about his concerns, she'd tag Dave in the security system so that she would immediately be informed about any suspicious actions (ie leaving or trying to do himself harm).
Fun fact about Aananda: her superpower is being able to copy and improve any tech she sees. She now has the tech and the know-how to build an AI. Has for a while. Hasn't. She actually really disagrees with some of the basic assumptions of Culture well, culture, and is choosing to take a different direction. This is part of why the nanites aren't given enough intelligence to be considered sentient.

I imagine on some level, you're a freakin superhero to her.
She may have a probelm with him not listening to her, though.

I imagine Ignace is pretty sketchy around the dragons too, since they're not immune to fire.
If you have fire resistance like the amethysts she'll at least be okay with you being in the same room since she figures that's enough to let you get away before bad damage occurs.
I may update Tyrrin's stats slightly to represent some character development, but she's going to keep her biggest flaw: she is completely defenseless in melee and against fortitude saves. This is why she needs bodyguards like Jaiye and Ghalen. ;)
Long story short: Vai gets the shaft from Ignace. :(
