Xerexis has a quest? I had no idea. He seems maybe a harder character to engage in, being the solid stoic type. I'm sure Rah would want you to enjoy the game with character you like best.

Xerexis definitely has an agenda. I do not believe he and Myhm have much to talk about in general.

Regardless, I can have fun playing anything.


Xerexis has a tough role to play, and his quest is not one that fosters bonding with the group. That could change, but we are not in a place were that is possible yet.

I'm aware the group has limited healing ability, and I kind of like the concern and tension it brings. I don't think you need a healer, however, this is a collaborative game so I'm not opposed to recruiting another player, though specifically bringing in a healer feels forced.

Let's open up a dialogue. What are some thoughts here?

We should use party treasure for a CMW or CSW wand if we can find such a thing.


Stronger items to heal damage would help, but you guys have a tendency to neglect damage prevention. It's sometimes tough to fully grasp a character's potential when created at higher levels because you haven't had the chance to field test them, but I suggest looking a little closer at what you can do.

For example, all of you forgot that you found a wand of resist energy, which could have made the wisp encounter a lot easier.

Also, you should be aware that your characters are very close to gaining a level. Perhaps you should start considering now what you will do with it.

I think picking up more magical items, and being able to prepare for encounters better (i.e., we didn't know we were going to the First World, or at least I didn't) would help. I think specifically another healing wand is in order (from group funds) and maybe some scrolls so Troxell doesn't have to prepare a bunch of potentially useless spells. I'm having to prep more healing spells than I would prefer already, and druid healing spell progression is less than a cleric's already.


Even though he can't cast spells due to low wisdom, Xerexis is also capable of using wands.

Regarding the surprise visit to the First World, it was intentional that you arrive unprepared. One thing to keep in mind, I don't always design encounters to be won by players, though that can happen on the turn of the dice. If you think you can't handle something, you should consider other options, such as negotiation, misdirection, or retreat.

I'm fine with whatever the group prefers. I can't wait to gain a level, as Teena really needs a couple additional spells, lol.

If someone wants to run a healer, that's fine, but I'm also fine with the dynamic we have currently. I'm sure ther will be a settlement somewhere fairly near, so we could look for a wand there, too.

Yep, that'd be the general image. When I thought of the character, I wanted a combination of Ludo (Labyrinth), Fezzik (Princess), The Hulk.


This give me a great moment of appreciation for homebrews. I used to GM PBP homebrew 3.5 campaigns but burned out a few years ago, and been dabbling PFS since. Though it is very fun, PFS is meant for co-op PCing/GMing, very structured for success, like a Hardy Boys book. Here, we're getting the $#!+ kicked out of us by a GM's creativity without mercy, and that PFS airbag is never going to deploy - makes it very exciting!

Troxell, looks pretty good. The only suggestion I have, and it might not be one worth taking since they aren't class skills, is possibly throwing a rank in knowledge (dungeoneering). After facing oozes, ettercaps, and will'o'wisps, it would be justified, and though your skill check wouldn't be good, at least you'd have a chance to identify things above DC 10.

Ah, I found the DM post about levelling up! DM, the above is my planned progression.

If anyone thinks I should take a different spell, other than the three listed above, please pipe up and let me know. I'd love to get either Fly or Dispel Magic, but I think at this level we have to have Haste available. I took EPS and Blindness as I didn't have any Fort. save targeted spells yet.


I'm compiling some information on the Witchmarket, but will be delayed by work tomorrow. Hope to post something informative tomorrow evening.

Teena, you said you aren't really interested in anything, but I might tempt you with something anyway. In fact, I'll probably tempt all of you with "deals".
