I admit I had to check the Leeroy Jenkins reference.

I played that character in another campaign, years ago, as a man conflicted between his humanity, his tastes for life's pleasures, his impulsivity and need for loneliness vs his Infernal, inhuman heritage, his tendancy for law and order, for violence, evil deeds and pain.

Being an asylum escapee would clearly fit.

Chaotic is an interesting rebellion vs. the fanatically Lawful that is so inherent to Devils, but yeah, he sounds like an interesting character.

Looking forward to meeting him - assuming we get out of our current situation alive... ;-)


That PC works for me and looks like it would be a good addition to the team, DM L-E. Once the current group leaves the fort they'll encounter you in town somewhere.

If you're familiar with the AP, I can definitely see that guy being locked up in the asylum. He would have been a subsequent evacuee and it would be up to you whether he was a follower of Zandalus or not.

If you're not familiar with the first adventure it's probably easier for the PC to be in town for some other reason- a lot of stuff happened at the asylum that would have impacted a patient there before they were evacuated.


And what about the money to equip my character, GM? How much should I spend?

I'll intro you to Thrushmoor now. Given the background I'd say this guy was a follower of Zandalus, just not one the group ran into (because otherwise he'd be dead).

If you're not familiar with the AP, that means that Lachen was committed to an asylum for however long you want to say he was, then there was an earthquake and suddenly the asylum was surrounded by yellow mist filled with unrecognizable monsters that trapped everyone inside, and this creepy guy named Zandalus gathered a bunch of followers who started calling themselves the Apostles in Orpiment, including Lachen. You can justify becoming an Apostle however you want, but the existing PCs see the Apostles in Orpiment as bad guys, so you can either keep that to yourself or not.

Anyway, the PCs came through and did what PCs do, eventually killing Zandalus. That somehow got rid of the yellow mist and allowed people to get off the island.

Unfortunately there's only 1 boat willing to go back and forth to Briarstone right now so it took a couple of days for you to get off the island.

I updated the loot list to add 12x MW longswords (2 taken), 12 MW longbows (Broom can mend the broken one), Chain shirt +1, Amulet mighty fists +1 and moved the owndership of the Amulet of barkskin +2. Also added the wand of clw (33).

Was there anything else that needed to be added?

If nobody wants anything else I will let the agency take the weapons and convert it into money.

Have we ever officially divided coins? I have a party treasury, but am not sure about individual funds.

I know there was talk about doing a little shopping before the next day.

Also in case it matters: I am assuming that in the sorted list Broom is carrying everything in the "party" column without claiming any of it in case there is something in there that someone else wants to take.

I think that covers it pretty well? The amulet of natural armor +2 will go to the shadow when it reappears, and Des will go back to her old amulet of natural armor +1. I'll try to remember to change it.

Reine is giving back the longsword she took, so only John is taking one, I think. I was going to have her take a longbow, but we can probably use the money to get her a more effective ranged weapon for her, so skip it. Sell 11 swords and 12 bows.

Karl, what're the odds of finding some +1 Undead Bane arrows in town? 10 of those would be 1600gp, and leave enough in Reine's pockets for a couple of Grave Marker Arrows and some change (assuming she can find those)...

Yeah, you can do a Diplomacy check to reduce the markup.

I think we should rest and recover.

I think Des was pretty much spent and despite the trauma that it might cause, having her shadow back as well would be to our advantage. I'm not to bad for spells, but that immunity to electricity is somewhat problematic. However, we now have someone that isn't a dex based melee so I might have some use for that enlarge person now =)

I also have a familiar to summon at some point. I'm still waffling over its form.

Just for reference, mechanically Us is a tumor familiar from the aberrant tumor feat with the sage and figment archetypes.

The figment archetype is a bit of a reskin but is mechanically identical.

I will update my character sheet as it currently has a toad listed, but I changed my mind.

I just want to say, I've been enjoying Broom's personality (and your writing!) this whole time, but wow, that was an AWESOME vignette! And an incredibly creepy familiar, LOL! You described it so well it just about made me grossed out, and I wasn't eating breakfast like the party. XD

This is definitely the weirdest party on Golarion. :D

Broom would like to object to the term "strewn about". She worked hard to tidy up and arrange the corpses in a respectful manner.


Hahaha. My mistake. Lachen, the many corpses are arranged neatly and respectfully in their respectful rooms. Still lots of recently dead bodies, though.

And it might even be creepier if whatever psychos rampaged through here took the time to clean up after themselves? ;)

Des has a glowy dagger, but one she could throw (and keep throwing) would be nice... but if someone else wants it, she can stick to her acid (shadow) splash. She's not really a close quarters (within 10') kind of combatant anyway, haha.

At least, she isn't supposed to be... *squints at fish people*
