Nicpic Whitefeather
Nicpic watches with a tinge of horror. Once Plugg finishes he slowly approaches Viviana and pulls her gently away.
Silently, he vows to pluck out Plugg's eyes...
Sarrien
Sarrien frowns as his gold is confiscated by Plugg. The harsh reaction seemed over the top. The stupid brute was clearly just some fun for his masters but he had misjudged how bloodthirsty they were. That low blow was rather unsportsmanlike. She does what's necessary to win though I like that.
He follows the Tengu, "I am not prepared to use my magic in such a way and mine is of a darker sort than most are willing to be touched by. I think though that a nights rest will see her back on her feet again."
Jack Handsome
"You were great. Really. Who could imagine that it makes someone unhappy to give a great spectacle. Well we will see."
Walking through the crew quarters Jack checks for the mood of the crew.
Sense motive: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
Sarrien
"If you are wanting the brute for an ally, perhaps there is some way to help him, but I doubt it. The box is likely locked." He stands back a little with his arms crossed, thinking.
Viviana Masters
Viviana shrugs slightly"He refused to strike me, even under the threat of even more pain...I would suspect he is an ally already. I would think that there is no need to be quite as obvious as to free him now, not until an opportunity arises."
Sarrien
He shakes his head, "Freeing him would be stupid. There is no need to be so obvious. But perhaps there is a way to help him 'endure' the heat with little ill effects. I do not have access to such magic but a cleric might, perhaps your friend Sandara might be convinced to lend her gifts."
Sarrien
Helpful is even better. Well I guess I can try with my -1 diplomacy if Jack won't. :D
Diplomacy(asking for aid): 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (16) - 1 = 15
Sarrien approaches Sandara when it seems they might speak without being overheard. "Besmara smile upon you Sandara." He makes some almost pointless smalltalk before getting to the real reason he had come to her, "I know you had some gold riding on our friend to beat the oaf over there when the generous Mr. Plugg deemed all our bets forfeit. I myself had no small sum wagered." He looks at her hoping for some gesture of acknowledgement, "It is but gold and naught in life is fair so in return I propose that we take away something that Mr. Plugg seems to value highly. The suffering of those below him. Tomorrow morning when you receive your gifts from the Queen of Pirates, there is a certain spell that if placed on the brute in secret before he is locked in the sweat box will help him 'endure' the heat a little easier. If you need a distraction to get to him without being seen I can help there." He waits a few moments for his proposed plan to sink in.
Jack Handsome
Mate, I totally got you wrong. Sorry.
Jack joins Serren and smiles encouragingly. "He is right Sandara. It would be helpful to the poor man. And I know it is in your heart, to fight for the underdog. He... thats why we are pirates

Sandara looks at the two men. Of course I will help him! I may have to wait my chance in the morning so as not to get caught but I should be alright. It seems that with Mister Plugg watching you all his attention is off of me for now. I will need to ask the goddess for guidance and the gift to help he simple man.
Jack Handsome
"We appreciate it, Sandara. And well getting problems is one thing, but that you have him of your back,.... well that makes it much more bearable. You do not.... deserve that kind of attention. Tell me, what do you think about the mood of the crew. Whom should, or could I persuade next to think better of us?"
GM Tyranius
|
The mood of the crew? Some like you and your friends while others don't obviously but what do you care about people thinking better of you? Sandara says as she looks at you questionly. I think that Cogwell is starting to like you a bit more though. I don't think you will be gaining the friendship of Mister Plugg though. Sandara says with a smile.
GM Tyranius
|
Our.... hmm ..... Friendship is well Sandara says as she blushes a little But our immediate concern is not getting killed and helping the man in the sweatbox tomorrow.
GM Tyranius
|
OK once everyone is good for tomorrow I will post the next day.
Jack Handsome
I am good three. A Well wait. Nicpic and Sarrien this time we might need you as a diversion so that vivianna and me can aid Sandara to help Owlbear. We too are very high up on the devils below s~*@list, so if we are visible that might not be wise!
Sarrien
My wealth was in scrolls taught to my familiar so i didn't really lose much. I want my wrist sheats, cold iron dagger and 6gp back eventually but it's not urgent right now. My usefulness isn't with weapons.

For most of my ship actions, due to me having utterly terrible Diplomacy (-1) I will likely be following around Jack Handsome and running Aid Another. If Jack is working diligently, then I will aid another on a alternate party member (ideally the person with the next highest charismatic personality) and go form there.
People I would rather target to try and make friendly/helpful;
Owlbear (I'm a little peeved that stepping away and not hitting him didn't get me anywhere, and it was sandara that made him friendly but oh well)
Conchobhar
Cogward
and then
Toppin
Tibs
Scrimshaw
Ratsberger
Brackett
Again though, any PCs that jack feels like influencing take precidence

You did make him friendly. It was the combined actions. He just could not express it as being drug straight to the box. But overall it was you stepping away that did it. It was going to clear it up a little more later but I probably should have hinted at it a bit more that it was when you had stepped away.

Day 5 Man the Bilges
Strength: 1d20 ⇒ 1
Con Check: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12

Day 7 Repair the Ship
Dex check(Working diligently): 1d20 + 3 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (15) + 3 + 4 - 2 = 20
Repairing seems to go well despite the crazy weather. Sarrien doesn't leave anything to chance and puts all his effort into his job.
Jack Handsome
All right lets get the show on the road
Following Vivianas cue Jack will get to work:
Prof Cook: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
After having slaughtered the pig, Jack visits Grok to ask for Sarriens items, paying if necessary."You know Grok, Sarrien doesn´t look like much but he is the captains man now. And how shall a man do his best to please the captain if he has nothing to hold his pants. And you know, i will even pay you out now. Ain´t no idea of me to get you into trouble!"
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
In the evening trying his best to get the gnome to smile at us.
"Mr Conchbar you really seem dashing today. I bet you can make even a great woman as Viviana swoon. Now I feel rather bloody today, mind you slaugthering pigs is a dirty business, maybe you can help me work on my outfit!"
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
In the morning upon entering the kitchen Jack sees Fishguts quite in a bad mood. Working hard to lift his spirits and maybe working that he remembers that he indeed is a great cook:
Fortitude: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Trying to help Fishguts to man up."Look at the kitchen. This is your home your work. And you are a damn fine cook! A master of the stove!"
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Hoping that Nitpic joins him with Grok to get his stuff back. "You have seen that bird? Damn hard for a birdman to use normal stuff. Well, you see, he would like to get his items back. Some are from his clan, and forfathers, and he feels annatural without them. We thougth, you see, if we can offer you the money from our first share of the plunder. Hard to pay otherwise. I think you get the first pick even. If we get cash I offer from my loot a 10% bonus!"
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Working on Cogwwell with Sarriens help. "You know, I bet you are really happy here. I mean sure it´s hard work, but I am sure as soon as we see a nice juice merchantman it will bloody work for all of us. Knife work. And I am sure, you will be outstanding that day!
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Again moving down to slaugther a pig.
Prof Cook: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
In the hope that Owlbear is freed on day 7 Jack brings him some crabs as lunch, and tells him that Viviana send me."Psst, Owlbear. I brought you some crabs. I know you like them. Viviana send me and all I can say is that you did a GREAT show. I mean come on, you are a huge man and you had a chance to attack her with a club. But you didn´t. She and me of course, are mightily proud of you. Do you like your crabs? Would you like them stewed, crushed, in a pie. Just tell me and I will do that for you. I might not be able to help you everyday. But as often as I can. What do you think? Friend?
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
In the evening working on Barefoot.
Mylady, Viviana tells me you are a real monkey on the ropes. I mean now I know why you ain´t wearing shoes. And you see, rigging is hard work. And methinks we are in this together. I mean, if we attack we might need every man and woman together against them."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18

The next few days go long and hard aboard the ship as the storm seems to be approaching. Viviana is busy preparing the sails all through the day while repairing, splicing and patching the rigging where she can while Sarrien is manning the bilge, which Master Scourge was quite unhappy about causing him to be chained to the mast during bloody hour for three whips from Master Scourge himself.
Whip: 3d3 ⇒ (3, 2, 2) = 7 Nonlethal damage
The next couple days Sarrien did much better as he swabs the deck and repairs small holes and cracks in the frame of the ship.
Jack is quite busy during the day as he prepares not one but two celebratory dinners on behest of the captain and listens to Ambrose's stories all throughout the day. As Jack attempts to go and talk to Owlbear he realizes that Owlbear is actually being confined near Mister Plugg's quarters under guard during the day.
At night the group speaks with quite a few of the pirates. Jack speaks with Grok about getting his gear back to him. You are a horrible liar Jack but I will tell you what. I will "loan" you what you need until you are able to pay me. The Cap'n will never miss this ew of items. The Half-orc says as she returns Sarrien's and NicPics gear to Jack. As Jack Talks to Conchobar the little gnome flushes in the face. No offense lad she be a mighty fine lady, but I have my eyes set on the curvy lass over there Conchobar says as he points at Rosie. She is magnificent!
Jack, Viviana and Sarrien continue on throughout the nights speaking with the pirates as they exchange stories with Cogwell about knives and merchants. The next night the conversation turns to Barefoot Toppins. Oh yes! It is so much easier to move around without those damnable boots on my feet. If I work faster the Mister Plugg doesn't whip me!. As Jack brings up the topic of attacking. Attack? Do you mean attacking the merchant ships?
With Nicpic refusing to work at all for the past three days Mister Plugg and Master Scourge have him chained in the bilges below deck.
Each diplomacy individual was moved up one step
New Character is joining then I will continue on
Aishe Kaleja
Just before dawn on the morning of the eighth day of the group's voyage, an inhuman scream emanates from Mister Plugg's cabin. "I've had enough o' you, woman! You won't do what I tell ya in my bed, then you'll do what I tell ya in the bilge!"
"The bilge would be mighty preferable, and would smell better, besides!" comes an answering voice.
A few moments later, the door to the companions' sleeping quarters flies open, and a young woman is thrown to the floor inside. "No more loungin' about in my cabin all day! Sleep in here with the rest o' the crew, an' don't ye come crawlin' back ta me or my bed, else you'll feel the sting o' the scourge!"
Once the door slams shut, the woman stands up and brushes herself off. She holds herself proudly despite the attempted humiliation of the first mate and, oddly enough, the hint of a smile can be found playing on her lips. "I can't believe it took a whole week to get thrown out of there. I thought I might have to get violent..." She makes her way to an empty cot and lies down for a few moments of respite before the inevitable day of back-breaking work.
Aishe Kaleja
For what it's worth, I agree with Viviana - if there's a time limit on this, we'll want as many on our side as possible, even if they're not as helpful as they might otherwise be.
Viviana Masters
Viviana raises an eyebrow as this young women gets thrown into her sleeping quarters. "At their was I thinking I was Mr Plugg's favourite...how upset I am, that I appear to be mistaken" she says with a half smile.
She gestures around at her companions, "It seems you are remarkably lucky, for us three I suspect are some of the most charming pirates on this ship."
There is a pause as Viviana props herself up on her cot with an elbow to look around the room. "Lets see...over there we have the ever creepy Sarrien with the appetizing looking bird...over in the corner we have our resident casanova and flawless chef, the smooth talking Jack Handsome...and then me, the um...girl with the golden fist? Something like that"
Viviana cocks her head to one side, as she appraises the young women, considering what she sees "Jack and I are good at reading people, but I prefer to hear them talk before I make judgments...who might you be, and how did you find yourself on this remarkable cruise liner?"
