Seeing that Talvek was having more success than she was, she called out, ""Well done!", as he subdued his foe.

Rebels Map

Spinning wildly, Lubella nearly drops her blade as she slams it into the wall rather than her opponent.

Talvek takes his time and lines up a precise strike with the flat of his rapier and knocks out the orange thug cold.

Aldren sees the open western door with more thugs advancing and barks murderous command at the closest thug.

1d20 ⇒ 7 vs murder
Purple mace: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16 for dmg: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
He turns on his gray buddy and slams him with his mace.
OUCH! What did you do that for???

Green belt hears allies and presses his attack on Lubella
Green mace: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21 for dmg: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 scoring another bruise

Vendalfek finish his spell and catches the first two thugs he can see outside.
2d20 ⇒ (9, 6) = 15 vs sleep
Purple and Gray will have to finish their argument after nap time as both slump to the ground.

The dwarf in the back bellows in anger.

You incompetent fools!!!! Stop fighting each other! Wake up and get them before I bust yer heads myself!

Lubella took another hit. Redoubling her efforts, she tried to finally take down her opponent.

Scimitar, Battle Dance, non-lethal (green): 1d20 + 6 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (20) + 6 + 2 - 4 = 24
Non-lethal damage, Battle Dance: 1d4 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 4 + 2 = 10

Crit confirm: 1d20 + 6 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (3) + 6 + 2 - 4 = 7 I'm glad I rolled low here — even a non-lethal crit might have killed green.
Extra crit damage: 1d4 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 4 + 2 = 8

Battle Dance rounds used: 5/9

Rebels Map

Lubella recovers her balance and perfectly bonks the thug on the forehead with the flat of her glowing blade. It does not connect squarely, or she may have done serious damage. It is more than enough to render him unconscious and the room is clear of standing foes for the moment.

AKA "Kyda" Halfling Dawnflower Dervish 8 | HP24/75 AC:21 T:23 F:18 | Saves F:9 R:17 W:9 (13 vs charm or compulsion) | Init: 6 | Per: 13 | CMB:4 CMD:18 | Speed 30ft | Active: Message, Good Hope, Haste, Heroism, Sickened, Mirror Images: 4

"There seems to be some dissension in your ranks!", Lubella called out to the enemy leader in the courtyard. "Surrender now, before anyone else gets hurt!"

Rebels Map

Back home again. Anything from the 3 guys? I will move us along by 10pm ET tonight.

The thugs laugh at Lubella's offer, the dwarf leader moreso than the thugs.

BAH! I am more than enough to bash ya punk rats into whatever hells ya deserve.

Rebels Map

The men of the party move towards the door as the few new thugs and their dwarfen leader cut off the back exit.

Two thugs advance, both try to shake and kick their sleeping comrades awake.

YOU HEARD Kossrani! Get up and fight ye lazy yeller cowards!

Both sleeping men awaken, finding themselves prone and can do nothing but grab their dropped weapons where they lay.

The dwarf meanwhile scowls as pulls something from his pack and strides forward with a bag in one hand and heavy mace in the other.

That's right ye rats! Stand up and take show these punks who they be messin' with!

Lubella stepped to the side and urged, "Blue Warlock, you might want to pull back from the doorway!" She called upon Sarenrae's grace to heal her wounds.

Cure Light Wounds (Lubella): 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 Spells used:1/3

She whispered to Vendalfek, "It might be good fun if the dwarf's mace were to be suddenly covered in grease when he tries to swing it!"

Dropping out of Battle Dance to conserve rounds/day.

As his opponents were now enjoying an undoubtedly well-deserved rest on the floor, Talvek moves by Lubella's side to assist with her opponent, while also leaving some space for the Blue Warlock to retreat out of harm's way. And judging by the voices outside, there was quite a bit of harm coming their way.

Attack green, non-lethal: 1d20 + 6 - 4 ⇒ (19) + 6 - 4 = 21 Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Crit confirm?: 1d20 + 6 - 4 ⇒ (18) + 6 - 4 = 20 crit damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

If green is down (which he should be from Lubella's attack on the previous round, Talvek will target purple instead.

If green is down, Aldren is going to take a 5' step and cast charm on the dwarf. If green is still up, Aldren is going to cast daze and take a 5' step towards him. He will likely miss on his touch attack.

Also, it looks to me like wounds are generally under control now but let me know if that isn't the case. Unfortunately, with this layout, I can't really channel any positive energy without helping some of the enemy, so it'll have to be cure light at touch.

Scenario #1 -- Green is Down
Aldren sees Lubella drop the thug in combat with her then moves to get a better view through the door. When he sees the dwarf in back who is giving orders, he calls forth Calistria's favor to sway the dwarf to their side.

Charm Person, Will DC 15

Scenario #2 -- Green is still up
Aldren sees Lubella still in combat with the thug in the room with them and calls forth for Calistria's "special touch" that overwhelms a person's senses.

Cast Daze, then 5' step and touch attack. Roll sucks so I'm sure this is a miss.

Melee Touch: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Rebels Map

Calling upon divine healing, Lubella is able to remove some of the injuries sustained in the fight.

Talvek comes to her aid and is able to easily knock out the remaining green belted thug, who drops to the ground in the corner.

The room is now clear of any standing thugs, leaving only those outside.

Aldren advances and with a quick gesture and a wink, tries to befriend the dwarf.

will: 1d20 ⇒ 19 but the dwarf is not impressed.

I ain't fallin' for none of those fancy tricks, boy!
If you is a boy at all!

Vendalfek flies back and lines up a spell on the dwarf's mace.

reflex: 1d20 ⇒ 3 but this time the dwarf drops his heavy weapon as it is coated in thick grease.

BLAST IT! Now I am going to kill your butterfly friend. Mash it good.

Rebels Map

What is Arcos' "trigger" for throwing the bolt? Any attack or advance? Just standing up? One moves into the room, so fire away if you want :-)

Purple and Grey stand up, grasping their maces, ready to strike.

Pink moves into the room and swings a mace at Aldren.
Take some of this, tough guy!
mace: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21 for dmg: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
The weapon hits Aldren solidly in the chest.

Kossrani, ignoring his now-greasy dropped mace, strides forward and to the north, drawing a longbow with his empty right hand as he moves.

You punks can't hide in there forever. And we are gonna getcha once you come out! And your little bug too!

Vendalfek hovers overhead, not liking the dwarf or his bow.

Oh no! Lubella, I don't like it when they fight back.

From behind the door, Talvek motions Aldren to get on the other side of the door, so that together they form a gauntlet of pain for anyone attempting to enter.

"Why don't you come get us in here? Or are you too chicken?" Talvek calls out to the dwarf, hoping to lure him and his thugs into the building, where they can bottleneck them.

If pink is still up...

Talvek adds his efforts to Lubella's in downing the thug who had struck Aldren.

Deleted prior post and re-wrote as I just saw Talvek's suggestion on strategy.

Aldren snarls as the mace-strike crashes into his chest. That was a rib. To the dwarf, he yells back, "If ye want to measure, whip it out, stumpy!" Dwarves had an innate aversion to magic and the half-elf cursed their fortitude for being as strong as their breath. He called on Calistria's protection.

Shield of Faith, +2 Deflection Bonus. If Pink is still up, here is a Defensive Casting check...

Defensive Casting, DC 17: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19

He then moves to flank the door with Talvek (5' step), dropping his crossbow (free action) and draws his mace (move).

"I'm 3 ft tall and 30 lbs; you're right to be scared of me!", Lubella called out, joining in the taunting.

Rebels Map

Pink shirt decides he is not comfortable standing between two men bent on causing him harm. He steps forward to swing at the provoking Blue Wizard.

You will get yours Blue Warlock guy!
Pink mace: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19 for dmg: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Purple vest steps into the doorway, in the now vacant spot, and swings a mace at Aldren

Measure this, fancy pants!

Purple mace: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15 for dmg: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
but the mace bounces off Aldrens considerable defenses.

Gray shirt and teal pants step forward and ready to strike.
Give us a shot! We will make em pay!

The dwarf sets down the bag, steps south and fires an arrow into the hovering dragonette.

Gotcha now you flying lizard!

Dwarf bow, cover: 1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 - 4 = 7 for dmg: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

I can't imagine purple is still up after that crit. If he is, Aldren will try to hit him. If not...

As the thug goes down to Talvek's strike, Aldren can't help the smirk that comes to his lips. "Seems you've come up a bit short, lad."

Still, had it not been for his armor and Her blessing, the priest knows that strike was strong enough to have dropped him. He winks at Talvek in appreciation, "Thanks." Mace in one hand, he switches his other hand to begin using his buckler and prepares for the next victim.

I was thinking that sheathe=move action, draw=free action because BAB is +1, but I guess the 5' step is also a free action, so I will delay the shooting in favour of sheathing + drawing the bow.

right, you may draw a weapon as a free action combined with a regular move. If you have quick draw (I did not check) then that would work as well

Arcos tries to intimidate the dwarf, but he will have none of it.

And the dwarf steps back and hurls the bag at Aldren.

The bag explodes into a tangling sticky blob on the cleric, sticking him into place (DC15 reflex to resist being stuck).

Aldren side-steps the tanglefoot bag -- My thanks, Mistress -- then opts for discretion over valor. He carefully steps back from the thug (5' step), taking cover behind the door, and pulls out a potion and drinks it (move and standard). He looks at his allies a bit ruefully, "Well, that didn't work. I guess I'm not his type. Lubella?"

@Aldren: I think you might have had cover from the Thug.

Lubella breathed a sigh of relief as Aldren dodged the tanglefoot bag. That could have been very bad! Seeing an opening, she whispered urgently, "Vendalfek, can you grease the thug's mace?" She hoped that the little dragon had one more spell left.

I'm assuming that the dwarf is not holding a melee weapon right now, correct?

Lubella paused for a moment, to see if Vendalfek could cast a spell, and then cast one of her own. She moved through the doorway, trying to dodge the human thug's attack, ending in a position to pin the dwarf against the gate. "Give it up!", she said firmly, pointing her scimitar at his chest.

If Vendalfek cast's Grease, and the thug drops his weapon, Lubella will cast Cure Light Wounds on herself. If not, she will cast her own DC 14 Grease spell on the thug's weapon.

@Aldren - I have some good news and bad news. My first post had rolled a miss on the mace, so that really missed.
For some reason, when I added the tanglefoot bag description, it double-posted with the higher dice roll (which I disregard).
The bag still hits (its roll was unchanged), and with your save, you are not stuck to the ground, but you ARE still covered in goo and entangled - with all that means.
But you can move at half speed - use 1-handed weapons etc. "...and must make a DC 15 Reflex save or be glued to the floor, unable to move. Even on a successful save, it can move only at half speed..."

Aldren is covered with a sticky resin which solidifies upon his person, but he is able to leap before the resin binds him in the doorway.

Calling out, he steps back and cures his prior injuries.

Um....Sorry boss!

Lubella follows the arrow to the dwarf...considering trying to tumble past the thug in the process. (no longer a need, so I assume she just moves normally, otherwise she loses the movement on the failed roll).

She is able to heal herself.

I will get her, boss!

The grey thug, no longer armed will try to grab the halfling...

These guards were no match for their team! Emboldened by their success so far, Talvek gets a little showy - diving forward into a tumble that fetches him next to the one of the two remaining opponents as he drops his bow and draws his rapier again. Striking from a distance was nice and all, but the dwarf's words remind him of the "no killing" rule, and it was all too easy to accidentally kill someone with an arrow.

Truth! I'd swear the RNG has had it out for me the last week.

While Aldren didn't share the pair's compunctions about killing the mercenaries, the goo that now covered him made using a crossbow exceedingly difficult. So, as the others dove back into the fray, he kept the morningstar in hand and stepped into the doorway (move)where he swung at the closest thug (standard). "They're nicer than I am. Drop to your knees or die; I don't care which."

Lubella spins and dances while bantering with the dwarf, Kossrani. However, her blade bounces off his chainmail.

I think you need to rethink your loyalties. But I will kill you before it matters.

Talvek tumbles out the door and thrusts his rapier at the remaining thug, but his balance is compromised by spinning.

Aldren has better luck despite being encased in solidified goo. The last thug groans as the morningstar strikes his temple.

Oh...sorry bosss. and he collapses to the ground, leaving only the dwarf.

Arcos takes the opportunity to move into the courtyard, hoping to get a better view of the dwarf.

Kossrani steps back and pulls back the string on his bow.

Lubella replied, "There's still a chance to choose a better path in life. Reject the ways of darkness, and follow the light of the Dawnflower!" The dwarf seemed like he might be set in his evil ways, but her goddess taught patience, and not giving up on the prospect of redeeming evildoers.

"Nicely done!"

Talvek grins at Aldren, and although the scarf wrapped around his face hides most of his expression his eyes glint almost manically as he rushes towards the one last standing opponent. Aldren watches the mercenary slump to the ground with a satisfied grin, winks at Taldren, then follows them out into the courtyard. He doesn't much fancy firing into the scrum and sees few opportunities for spell-casting, so instead he resorts to taunts. "Give it up, stumpy. She's trying to let you keep your life. Demoralize Opponent: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19

Rules for Demoralize:
Demoralize Opponent
You can use this skill to cause an opponent to become shaken for a number of rounds. This shaken condition doesn’t stack with other shaken conditions to make an affected creature frightened. The DC of this check is equal to 10 + the target’s Hit Dice + the target’s Wisdom modifier.

Success: If you are successful, the target is shaken for one round. This duration increases by 1 round for every 5 by which you beat the DC. You can only threaten an opponent this way if it is within 30 feet and can clearly see and hear you. Using demoralize on the same creature only extends the duration; it does not create a stronger fear condition.

Fail: The opponent is not shaken.

Action Demoralizing an opponent is a standard action.
