Between the cleric, oracle and hedge witch, I think we can keep people going pretty darn well -- two of us can spontaneously cast healing spells, and the other isn't a prepared caster. ;)

FYI - It seems like the Windows installation on my desktop is corrupted or there is a problem with the SSD that it (and a lot of my personal files) were on. Trying to copy everything now to a backup drive, reformat the SSD and reinstall windows, but currently limited to my work laptop and iPhone, so posting may be a little difficult. Hopefully I'll be back up to 100% by the end of today.
Sidius Consano
Ugh, that sounds unpleasant. Best of luck!
Aldren Halfblood
I was probably overdue for a clean installation but just had too many apps installed I didn't want to spend hours reinstalling everything. Don't really have a choice anymore. Hopefully it was just Windows. <fingers crossed>
Aldren Halfblood
Gah. Talvek, you did say they have to die regardless. Sorry for missing that and the mad tangent. We’ve been trying to get our 4 year old to transition to a big boy bed instead of his crib and it has been...difficult. 6th night of little sleep and I read too fast.
Anyway, IC, chalk it up to Aldren being on edge and pissed about losing surprise, and maybe transferring some of his frustration with Lubella trying to stabilize the one onto Talvek for stopping him from icing the other. Sorry! [-;
Lubella Heathertoes
Lubella would ideally like to find a way to let the cultists live, but I understand that it might not be practical. She's not going to endanger the revolution for the sake of some evil cultists, who probably aren't redeemable anyways. But it's something she has to wrestle with for roleplaying purposes.

I had something like that happen 2 or 3 years ago. Had to wipe the SSD and reinstall everything. I didn't lose any data but it was a PITA!
Aldren Halfblood
Totally fair and I am glad for it! Part of the fun, to me. FWIW, I will always find a way to go with the group consensus, but similarly feel a need to be like “The redeemer is all about redemption, and the vengeance cleric is kind of a wrathful ‘they all must die’-prick sometimes. Hopefully the bad guys will just oblige. O:-)

I have had it happen, apparently it is when you update form Win 7 to 10. There are errors that happen when doing the auto updates down the road. A full fresh install of Windows 10 is the only solution I could find.
Aldren Halfblood
Yeah, I was able to save my files by juggled them between various harddrives while I reformatted everything then just did a clean install. It was probably a mess. I think there was an upgrade from 7, then I moved all the harddrives from one rig into another and just re-installed windows on top of that somehow, keeping the registry "mostly"? intact with all my apps and games. It was probably inevitable with as lazy as I'd gotten. All seems to be back in working order now though.... knock on wood.
Lubella Heathertoes
Has Talvek taken his Barkskin extract yet? It has a long duration (40 min).
Lubella Heathertoes
I was afraid there might be a trap next to the pit — it's an obvious choke point. Not much you can do about a bad Perception roll though.
Don't forget that Talvek can always add Inspiration to his saving throw after he sees what he rolled. It costs two uses of Inspiration use it on a saving throw, but well worth it if it saves you from falling into a pit!
Aldren Halfblood
Traps are one thing invisibility does not help with. :(
GM Aarvid
Do the inspiration points reset or recharge? I see several more 1d6 added to skill rolls than the 6/day. So I am assuming there is some way to regain them? I am just not as familiar with those and panache :)
Talvek Drassed
The reflex save was my fourth use of an inspiration point for today (used three others on Stealth rolls), the others are free from Investigator talents (Expanded Inspiration, Underworld Inspiration).
Lubella Heathertoes
As referenced in gameplay, Expeditious Retreat gives Lubella a big bonus to jump checks (with heroism and no armor, the extra speed gives her a total of +22 to jump). However, it's a personal spell, so that doesn't help anyone else. What spells, magic items, or other abilities do we have available?
Talvek Drassed
Nothing here, I'm afraid. If there was a secret passage back in the cultists area, I feel that a Perception check of 27 should have found it, so I guess we need to find a way to traverse the pit. =/
GM Aarvid
If there was a secret passage back in the cultists area, I feel that a Perception check of 27 should have found it...
Not necessarily. :) This was a suspected hideout for thieves, after all.
Lubella Heathertoes
Maybe some PCs could carefully step across the corner of the pit, using rope to hold on to. On the map it looks possible, but best to look closely for complications.
Lubella can easily jump the pit, using Expeditious Retreat. Talvek could probably jump across without much difficulty (he has both panache and inspiration to add).
If there looks to be a likelihood of significant opposition, Lubella could cast Cat's Grace first (that's her one remaining big buff spell: +2 to hit, damage and AC for 5 min).
I would imagine there's a secret passage to bypass the pit trap, but it could take too long to search and find it.
Talvek Drassed
If we split up and take 20 on searching for a secret passage it might go faster. I am not keen on potentially splitting the party.
Aldren Halfblood
Even if I take 20, I won't beat a 27, but maybe I could aid another if the GM allows it.
Sidius Consano
I don't like splitting in general - even less when there's a hostile creature nearby.
I think we may need to see what's going on with that before we worry about taking action -- though I will say that a few of us can break 30 taking 20 - so a thorough search could be helpful.
Might also be worth using detect magic to see if there's an illusion covering something.
Aldren Halfblood
Possibly dumb question but I may be mucking something up... When Lubella casts message, does that mean all of us can whisper to each other, or it more like a spoke and wheel where only Lubella can hear us when we whisper?
Sidius Consano
Side note: I don't think it's metagaming to hypothesize that when you've got 30 feet more space in one area than another that there may be something in that space. I mean, 5' or something, sure, might just be an irregularity, but this isn't a subtle amount of space -- and so I thought, since we were looking for a way by and that we weren't sure that Talvek would find a door there, it made sense for the rest of us to look in those rooms that bordered that space (those of us with decent perception) to make better use of time than standing around and cheering on Talvek.
Lubella Heathertoes

My interpretation is that only Lubella can hear the spell's targets when they whisper.
Aldren Halfblood
You may be right, Lubella. Would folks be opposed to a standing assumption that Lubella shares that information with everyone? You’re an amazing consistent and regular poster, but if we can have that as an assumption it just reduces a step of waiting. Just a thought and I’m not wedded to it. Just putting it out as an idea (and if Aarvid is okay with it).
Metagaming is always a bit tricky; I’m trying to be mindful of it myself. GM, please tell us if you feel we’re crossing a line versus just trying to play smart and from the characters’ perspective.
Lubella Heathertoes
Lubella will routinely share information with everyone, unless it's obviously meant to be private.
GM Aarvid
I have been assuming Lubella is sharing the feedback from Talvek. I will try to give benefit of the doubt, but there could times when she can’t (silence) or won’t (enemies could overhear) but usually safe to assume she shares when you post.
Regarding meta gaming searches, I will also give benefit of the doubt for searches. The trick is seeing how much time is spent searching - especially if spamming take 20 - then buffs can expire. Never really been a problem here but have seen that on my other AP .
Aldren Halfblood
Just putting this out as an option... obviously we want Talvek and Lubella in the room as quick as possible. In light of that, should someone else use a move action to open the door? You can move through friendly squares. And if we have bad luck and the bad guy is literally on the other side of the door with no gap, Aldren can just run back and take the AoO.
I guess I’m kind of volunteering Aldren if folks think that makes sense.
Aldren Halfblood
If the enemy isn't invisible and about to smash us, I have a gambit in mind... kind of high risk, high reward, though.
I'm thinking of pretending to be Maglap (or whatever his name was).
Aldren Halfblood
Kind of see where it goes but, at a minimum, hopefully coax the baddies out of hiding so you and Lubella can get a surprise round on them. But if they buy it, yeah, see what I can find out.
Aldren Halfblood
Oof. I don’t know that Maglap was trying to convince folks here was actually noble — I think he was just using that as a disguise to attack us — but we’ll see what happens. :-) Should be interesting!
Lubella Heathertoes
Just a reminder that Elgadazum's glaive is a x3 crit weapon, so a lucky hit could be extremely painful!
Being invisible is, of course, a great way to avoid an AoO as you close.
Talvek Drassed
Heads up that I am having surgery on Monday the 25th and will be unable to post for a few days. Bot as needed.
Aldren Halfblood
Hope it's nothing scary and all goes as planned. I promise we won't needlessly impale Talvek on the glaive... he may wind up impaled, but it won't be needlessly. ;)
Sidius Consano
Best of luck, Talvek.
Lubella Heathertoes
That's a nasty pair of readied attacks! The cultists do have duplicate images though.

That's a nasty pair of readied attacks! The cultists do have duplicate images though.
So... I guess we’re clearing out the dungeon first... LOL.
===============
Also, did we ever search the cultists who were the welcoming committee? Looks like Talvek searched the rooms and found the six vials, but I'm having trouble seeing we ever searched the cultists. (May have gotten distracted by questioning and executing them.)
GM Aarvid
It has written for the tactics on how they would react and when they would open the secret door. It should be interesting if nothing else.
Aldren Halfblood
Ah! Got it!
Talvek finds that other than their wooden unholy symbols and fine nets, they do not carry much. Inside the rooms are each a vial of some strange liquid. (6 of each, net, symbol and bottle).
Unless there's an objection, can we assume we collected the nets, too? If they're masterwork, that's some nice gold. (I'm just trying to update the loot sheet.)
Also, welcome back! Hope the surgery went well and you're having a quick recovery.
Aldren Halfblood
I just wanted to sell it!!!! *cries*

LOL - Aldren has a new friend.
Picking up the MW nets is fine. Just need to stow them someplace.
