PYRAMID

Claire moves in and swipes at the pyramid, but misses.

The Pyramid reverses itself and tries to run down Claire, Crowe, and Valjoen once more.

It runs over the top of:
Damage 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
Claire
Crowe
Valjoen

Take damage, but make an AoO (at -4)

OR

DC18 Reflex for half (but no AOO)

Will await resolution of AOO's etc

Crowe winces in anticipation as the Pyramid rumbles in his direction, but takes a swing at it as it closes.

Earthbreaker, RAGE!, Bless (penalty included): 1d20 + 9 + 2 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (10) + 9 + 2 + 1 - 4 = 18, for 2d6 + 13 + 3 ⇒ (2, 1) + 13 + 3 = 19 damage.

Sczarni

OK so partial retcon, and why I wanted actions first :)

The thing lumbers in and Crowe reacts in anger once again, smashing at the construction with his Earthbreaker - the structural damage is too much and the thing collapses in a pile of rubble.

VC - Sydney, Australia

From what I gather, an AoO occurs before the event that triggers it - so the implication for that would be that your strike would interrupt the construct and thus damage would not be applied to you - well smashed!

The pair of heavy stone doors carved with images of rampant sphinxes stand at the terminus of the long causeway.

They appear to swing inwards, or they would if they weren't so firmly jammed shut.

You think that two people working in unison may be able to force them.

Two people can make STR checks and combine them, or come up with another fancy way!

Curiously it says ADD the checks, so... 46 according to this encounter!

Working well together, Crowe and Valjoen manage to force the door.

From their vantage point they can see into the space beyond.

Tall, pink granite columns, carved and painted to resemble palm trees, stand around the perimeter of this chamber, supporting the barrel vault of the ceiling. Slabs of the same pink granite line the walls. A stone sarcophagus stands alone on the limestone floor in the center of the room. Beyond, a dark doorway leads deeper into the pyramid to the west.

Can a Disarm make an enemy drop an unconscious grappled opponent? I'm not sure how I'd rule myself -- disarm makes the enemy drop "one item it is carrying of your choice (even if the item is wielded with two hands)".

If you would allow a disarm in this case, call this attack a disarm, otherwise it is a normal attack with a whip.

Stelikara advances to 15' away from the strange chest, drawing her whip as she does so. Then she strikes the misbehaving container with her whip. "Is every object in this place a monster? I don't think I like pyramids anymore."

Re the disarm, in a cinematic sense and as a game saver I'd pay it, but in this case it auto grapples because the creature has a special ability that allows an auto no roll grapple...
