Red Horn Es-Nordmir
Red Horn snarled as another insult seemed to come from the Cleric. "I may not be from one of the noble clans but I assure you I am no calf. You say that you can put me to shame. You have heard the inn we are going to, show up then if you feel that you truly do have such strength for such a feeble body. I am a minotaur of honor and I will gladly accept your challenge but know that it will not be to the death. Or are you a coward who can only bark out petty insults?" he said trying to remain calm and not jump the man where he stands.
Red Horn Es-Nordmir
Red Horn nodded "I see, it seems you are quite human...you instantly believe that I as a minotaur follow Sargas. Well, forgive me if I don't fit in as an average minotaur, I do not revere any god only my honor. If you wish to find out just how much faith your god has placed in your body then tell me, where and when and we will fight till one of us must bear a knee but no further."
Red Horn Es-Nordmir
Red Horn tilted his head "Very well, where in this city might one go to be undisturbed when settling disputes of honor? I wouldn't want to keep you from your duties, if you have time I'll gladly follow now." he offered his eyes glinting at the idea of battle. He looked over at Aminah and snorted "Human female cleric...will you do us the honor of keeping us from killing one another or is your abilities as a cleric not lie in healing?" he asked in about as polite as Red Horn got.
Talinthal Uth Mondor
Such an event will not take place on the consecrated ground of the Temple of Paladine. Meet me at the inn you stay at 700 pm, after vespers have been prayed. A Brightwarden of Paladine is not afraid of a minotaur. Paladine and his unworthy servant will show you the light of the error of your ways. Perhaps after the fight we will feast on roast beef?
Red Horn Es-Nordmir
Red Horn teeth grinded at the mention of beef as the man was trying to relate him to a common cow. "Indeed, we shall fight at seven then. But after you are through picking your teeth up, perhaps we shall have a bit of monkey brain then? I hear it is easy to eat even with a broken jaw." he said getting in a jab of his own before he stomped out of the room towards the inn.
Jakun Stormhoof
Jakun shakes his head, "Well played Red Horn. Let us off to the inn to eat, then I shall accompany you to watch the beating you give to the monkey".
Quentus Otelleth
Sighing at the ensuring fight promise Quentus smiled again Why not enjoy the fight. Might as well get some small coins out of folk as they stop to watch some idiotic people getting beaten. Not my business anyway with these people. Oh hell no, just met them and already seem to be going so well
Motioning the group to follow Quentus "Well ladies and gentlemen, led us depart now towards the Inn where you can sleep and drink as well settle your dispute later, so what you say?" and begins to walk away not really giving a look if others follow him
Aminah Mikku

Aminah does not want conflict, however she also knows to respect a dual of honour so saysto the Minotaur red horn. "If you both feel a dual of honour is warranted to resolve your issues then you shall do so."
To Quentus "As for the inn I shall go with you Quentus to get my room set up but then I must return here and spend some, time in prayer as I was unable to do.so at the tower during my visit."
Looking to Talinthal she says, "So the Reverend Lady lost her sight in the Abyss you say? If this is true then why did she as the chosen of Paladine not have her sight restores by his powers? Was she punished for offending the Draco Paladin in some way? Surely healing something like this is not beyond the power of a God?"
Marantis Everoak
Marantis scoffs, "So are we done with trying to show who's testicles are bigger? What will that fight accomplish? It doesn't help any of us in trying to figure out what happened, wastes our time, and ultimately winds up with one if not both of you needing healing, which further reduces our ability as a whole. But at least you'll be able to prove...what exactly? You waste our time, waste our resources, and ultimately give whatever forces are at hand more of a head start, but bravo for fighting to prove nothing. It was this exact type of thing that led to Takhisis' downfall in the war of the lance, her forces fighting amongst each other. His voice drips sarcasm "I'm so glad to see that our forces have learned so well from that example."
He turns swiftly from them and bows briefly to Crysania, "Forgive my outburst, Revered Daughter, but such foolishness gets under my skin. He turns to Aminah, "I will be at the Goose and Gander, should you choose to go there. If not I will meet you back here in the morning. I refuse to remain and watch this over someone's fragile, injured pride."
Marantis moves swiftly to the door and then towards the Goose and Gander.

The Revered Daughter will respond about her being blind. It would seem that Paladine was angry with me. When I was younger I was prideful. I went back in time to see the mistakes of the Kingpriest and to save the soul of one I loved. I saw the way that the Kingpriest treated the gods. It was not with humility; he ordered them around. He used me and yet in my pride, I did not see that I used him as well. The greatest of the elven clerics, Loralon, told me that I would only be truly able to see when I was blind. That did not happen until I was in the Abyss and had been abanonded by one I thought loved me. He loved his ambition more and in the end, I think I loved my faith more. Thus Paladine reminds us that sometimes only in darkness can truth be known. That his light illumines, it does not blind.
Talinthal Uth Mondor
The agreed upon hour arrives. The Revered Son enters into the Inn looking for the minotaur. He is dressed in full plate armor, with a longsword at his side. His medallion glows with the presence of his god. With him are three others, one of Paladine, one with the blue robes declaring her as a priestess of Mishakel and another with the brown and white of a priest of Kiri-Jolith. The other is a young Knight of the Sword.
Shall we settle this outside? he inquires.
Jakun Stormhoof
Jakun snorts, "Do you need two companions because you fear mighty Red Horn Human Cleric? This duel is not settled with weapons but with Fists, know you nothing of Honor Human?"
Red Horn Es-Nordmir
Red Horn laughs as he turns about to look at the scene. "Jakun, it is fine. I have learned that this is they way of humans, afraid by themselves and without a weapon in hand. They fear us for our horns and choose a weapon to make themselves feel equal. I will allow it. Jakun, can you do me the honor of having my back should his friends join in. I do not mind if they are here to pick him up after we are done and fix any broken bones or bloodied noses." he said standing up and coming up to meet him "Yes, let us take it outside. I did not bring enough coin to pay for anything I break today."
He strode outside and looked about to see what his arena was like. He backed up away from the man and looked at him "When you draw your blade I will know that you are ready, or if you raise your fists. Just know that if you chose to use that sword, I won't have any concerns about using my own weapon" he said smirking.
He's gonna give about 30ft distance between them and stand there waiting.
initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Iniative 1d20 ⇒ 9
Round 1 Iniative 9
I need no sword. My faith is my weapon, shield and strength
Grasping his medallion of faith, Paladine, hear the prayer of your unworthy servant. In your holy name I command this creature to KNEEL! Sifat
Will Save 15
Can you do combat like I did so that it is easier to see and track?
Shalafi2412
Are you using this application:
Demoralize: You can use this skill to cause an opponent to become shaken for a number of rounds. The DC of this check is equal to 10 + the target's Hit Dice + the target's Wisdom modifier. If you are successful, the target is shaken for 1 round. This duration increases by 1 round for every 5 by which you beat the DC. You can only threaten an opponent in this way if they are within 30 feet and can clearly see and hear you. Using demoralize on the same creature only extends the duration; it does not create a stronger fear condition.

Will Save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
Round 2 Initiative 6
Red Horn shook off whatever Magic this fool seemed to be trying to use, he stomped the ground and charged in with his horns lowered. If this man was gonna use magic against him, he was gonna hurt for it.
Charge: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22
If hit, damage as follows
Gore Damage: 2d6 + 12 ⇒ (6, 5) + 12 = 23
Edit: That would only be 20 damage. I messed up my math on the extra damage from charging. Stupid program that helps with maths.
Aminah Mikku
|
Aminah Mikku watches the duel and inside does agree more with the Red Horn's side of the issue. This was a duel of honor which should be fought with arms not magic.
Aminah looks to Jakun and says, "Indeed, I agree that Talinthal has overstepped his bounds. This was meant to be a test of arms. While it would be acceptable to draw on the blessings of the Gods to enhance one's prowess in battle, using the power of the Gods to force submission of one's foe is bad form."
She yells to Talinthal, "Talinthal, a duel is a test of arms! You dishonor the duel by forcing your opponent to submit through the use of magic. Ready your weapon and face him in arms and trust in the power of Paladine."
Animah then yells to Red Horn, "Red horn, do not stoop to his level. Fight with honor and the Gods shall be at your back."
Using Inspiring Word on him, my Nobility Power. He gets a +2 morale bonus on attack rolls, skill checks, ability checks, and saving throws for 1 round
Marantis Everoak
Marantis leans against a wall, shaking his head at the idiocy of the fight, and catches Mittens' comment.
"It's a wise move by the human. Red Horn said he could use his weapon, and the knight is using his faith as that weapon. The fight in itself is foolish though, and only serves to weaken us. Red Horn is in a no win situation. If he wins, the people here will only see it as a human who is outweighed by the much larger Minotaur, and Red Horn comes off as a thug who likes to push his weight around, and sympathy goes to the knight. If he loses, the knight becomes the champion of the faith that defeated the Minotaur with only his faith. And in either case both sides lose respect by fighting over something this trivial." He claps his hands sarcastically, "So bravo to both sides for making us look like fools."
Aminah Mikku
|
Aminah thinks to herself forgetting in the moment of passion that despite the subtle nature of her inspiring word it can be detected by those who wield the divine or arcane sight. She looks to the Knight of the Sword and says. "I am balancing the fight. Talinthal wields divine magic against a foe without any ability to do so. Thus Red Horn deserves a blessing of his own."
Quentus Otelleth
Quentus chimes in but I do recognise a berserker when I see one. A minotaur or not, see how his muscles are ripping out of the skin almost. We all have our own skills or ways to help us. Altough it does not concern me. Quentus is just enjoying this sight as Quentus cleans his nails with one of his knives
Shalafi2412
The cleric of Mishakel will pipe in It would appear so. in reply to the Silvanesti's query. As the cleric of Kiri-Jolith stated, the Revered Son has done nothing to harm the minotaur but now that that Khur has taken an active role, who knows that the consequences will be, for the Revered Son, the minotaur or even the Khur.
