Doctor Abner Svengalu Toffitt
FYI, the Ring of Force Shield must be wielded as a heavy shield. That means that it can't be used while also wielding a two-handed weapon, or double-handing a medium weapon.
Toffitt would then likely forgo the ring, and I imagine Finneas might as well.
GM_Chris
Gnolls (6)
Masterwork longbow (+3)
Masterwork spear
Masterwork studded leather armor
Steam Mephit - nothing
Giants - hide armor & clubs
Giants' bags
2100 SP
950 GP
Silver ring - 400 GP
Gold plated gnome skull - 250 GP
Hags
In the chest:
- 130 gold pieces
- 12 pieces of assorted silverware (450 gp)
- a plain golden armband (120 gp)
- four potions of cure moderate wounds
- a +1 light mace
On the hags:
- necklace of fireballs (Type III, only two 3d6 spheres left)
- scroll (CL 14) of scrying eyes & greater dispel magic
Kalareem Nerra - nothing, all shattered
Demon
Amulet of mighty fists +1
Ring of force shield
Okay, so there was not much treasure in that chapter. I'll check on balances tomorrow.
Doctor Abner Svengalu Toffitt
There was also the Ring of Protection +2 from the first hag we killed. And of course the damned staff.
What silly Cuthbertine gave away the +1 Holy longsword we found?!
GM_Chris
Thanks for the reminders. Updated the treasure sheet.
Jenya will give you 60% for all of Alek's items as thanks and as they are recycled back into use by the church.
An artisan in town can remove the gold from the gnome skull prior to its burial or you can bury as is and lose the 250.
There are items to choose from. I'm currently showing these as being sold, which would be 4,494 each:
large size hide armor
Silver ring
Gold plated gnome skull
silverware
gold armband
light mace +1
Ring of Force Shield
Holy longsword +1
Banded Mail +1
Masterwork large metal shield
Composite longbow (STR +1)
Cloak of resistance +1 (maybe not)
Ring of Sustenance (maybe not)
I'm assuming someone will want these:
potion of CMW (4) - There are now 10 in party so I'm assuming 2 each unless someone used one I missed.
necklace of fireballs Type III (2 x 3d6 spheres remaining) - Dyrant
Amulet of Mighty fists +1 - Toffitt
Ring of Protection +2
Ring of Protection +2
Ring of Protection +2
scroll (CL 14, scrying eyes, greater dispel magic) - Dyrant
I'm calculating treasure as follows:
98,706 - Gold in campaign - Gold found plus gold from selling items
99,196 - Full value of kept items and I'm sure I missed a few of those. I'm only including kept treasure, not purchased or crafted items.
This puts ths party at roughly 200,000 so far or 40,000 each, which is 6,000 behind the curve. Once the staff is successfully identified, it will actually fix that difference if kept or leave the party a bit behind when sold (my guess). So it turns out we're only a little behind the curve.
Didn't have time/patience to calculate each person's value, plus there are undecided items.
Finneas Glenn
If Cog wants to wear the spider climb cloak Finneas wouldn't object to the cloak of resistance to up his saves. From a RP perspective he kinda wants the ring of sustenance but I'm not going to press for it if people want it sold.
Doctor Abner Svengalu Toffitt
Toffitt actually doesn't want the amulet of mighty fists. See email to you, GMC. I suspect it'd be better for Cog.
I'm certain Dyrant will want the Ring of Sustenance, so he can stay up all hours preaching at Cauldron and keeping us all awake. I vote give it to Finneas instead.
Glimmil
I like all the recommendations for Cog!
On the spider climb cloak, I don't know what the rule is for a mount wearing a cloak - I suspect it could be used as a caparison without issue?
Then, the question if, if Cog scrambles up a wall or onto a ceiling, that doesn't necessarily mean Glim sticks to him. Before Cog takes on such a valuable item, I'd like to know if it would even work?
Cog will happily wear the amulet of mighty fists though, as that would be necessary for him to hit creatures with DR/magic.
I suspect Finneas enjoys eating too much for the ring of sustenance. Glimmil likes snacking too, so the ring might be best sold?
Dyrant Maynor, the Pre-Sainted
We should sell the scroll (18k!!? wow!). I'd love to have it, but for 18k we could buy a new wand of Dispel Magic.
Also, sell the necklace of fireballs and Dyrants Wand of Mage Armor (32 charges).
Dyrant doesn't need any of the rings. Finn already has a Ring +2, so I guess Dyrant could take one if Atol doesn't want it. Atol seems to get hit more often...
GM_Chris
@ Glimmil from Paizo
The intent is that animal companions or familiars can not activate magic items that require activation. Something like an amulet of natural armor does not require activation; it's always on (unless it's in an antimagic field or someone dispels it or whatever).
That said, a creature is limited by its anatomy. Something without shoulders can't wear a cloak, and something without fingers can't wear a ring. For the sake of PFS, animal companions can wear barding and neck-slot items. All other slots aren't really appropriate for animals (or even magical beasts). The only exception to this would be an brownie, faerie dragon, imp, lyrakien azata, or quasit familiar gained with the Improved Familiar feat. One could reasonably face either of these wielding a wand or wearing a circlet of persuasion in combat, and after investing a feat to gain their service, they are not limited by the same restrictions as normal bonded creatures like animals (whether treated like animals or magical beasts and regardless of Int scores).
-----
So here in my world, I'd be okay with a neck slot (collar). I'd even be okay with a shoulder slot considering all the real animals I've seen with capes. Shoes are out for a dog (even though I've seen them on dogs). I could also see a cloak used a sheet between the saddle and animal. Otherwise, I think it'll be a case-by-case decision.
In regards to the spiderclimb cloak, I'd be willing to let it work, but it does have the drawbacks already noted by Glimmil. My first thought is that it would be equivalent to flying for Glimmil. He'd need ride checks to do anything (including staying on Cog) if Cog went up something that Glimmil couldn't go up on his own without a climb check.
Doctor Abner Svengalu Toffitt
Can we assume that the staff will become unveiled at some point during the course of the week? Also, my reading of Sequester suggests it could be dispelled.
A summary of Toffitt's potion making and such over the course of the week:
75gp - portable alchemist lab
300 - 2 potions of invisibility (already done while out in the field)
I would humbly ask for the party to share cost of these:
750 - 2 potions of fly for Finneas and Cog. humbly ask for party to contribute
300 - 2 potions of lesser restoration (already noted in previous post)
I am open to further suggestions for potion brewing.
If Toffitt has or can borrow up to 6,000gp, he will also want to get the Agile property added to his dueling blade. It adds his Dex rather than Str bonus to weapon damage. Which means +3 to +7 more damage, depending on whether he has his mutagen or rage going.
GM_Chris
I try to avoid the deux ex machina, but in this case I blame myself for poor tracking and letting the curve fall behind--and another reason I won't share for now. :-P
That being said, I'm going to let Alakast be identified. It's a +1 bane vs. evil outsiders quarterstaff, 20,000. I've put it in the sold column--taken by Jenya to be used for Cauldron when ready. I don't think anyone trusts the city leaders enough right now to give it back to them.
I might correct a bit more, but let's see where we're at after people choose magic.
Finneas Glenn
I'll hang on to it for now and we'll figure something out. Maybe a dog collar of flying?
Let's sell the ring of sustenance. As long as we've got Atol we'll never starve. Atol? Atol? Dammit Atol, why are you dead again? Hold on guys, I'm going after him.
Doctor Abner Svengalu Toffitt
Toffitt will also sell his masterwork backpack (50gp) and alchemist's kit (25gp). Chump change, but might as well.
*Edit to previous post: happy to pay for Lesser Restoration potions myself.
If folks don't want to include potions of fly in party treasure, perhaps Finneas and Glimmil could pay costs for Toffitt to craft potions of fly for them? It all comes from a common pot ultimately, but this way we can keep roles and expectations clear.
Finneas Glenn
Any cash I have left over after holifying my sword goes towards party purchases, specifically potions for Toffitt and scrolls for Atol and Dyrant.
Atol Lem
I want to be careful about spending party funds on scrolls and potions. Atol and Dyrant scribe a LOT of scrolls and there's no reason for the party to chip in I think - presuming they then themselves pay for their own potions of things like Fly/Lesser Restoration/etc.
Consumables should come out of personal funds I think. Except for the big things (Raise Dead/Restorations/Plane Shift). I'm willing to be convinced otherwise though.
er, uh, yeah... That said, Atol would like to craft another Wand of Cure Light Wounds. Our current wand has 43 charges, but I don't know how long we'll be gone and a bad combat or two can drain it pretty quickly. Atol is just worried about being swarmed by Demons as soon as we arrive. It would be 375gp out of group funds as Atol can craft it himself saving us some cash.
Also GM_Chris - are the scrolls attuned to specific planes or do we need to get the tuning forks? I presume there is one scroll tuned to our target and two tuned back home, but I'd like to know for sure before I start screwing up the casting... :)
Doctor Abner Svengalu Toffitt
Toffitt took the first hag's ring. He doesn't need the ring of sustenance — class ability already gets him part of the way there. The ring of force shield was nice, but he double hands his blade now for power attack, and so will rely on Shield. Eventually a ring of feather fall or somesuch will be nice.

Glimmil
Glimmil will claim the last ring of protection. You never know when the next glabrezu might reach out and give him a hug.
I have no issue with Cog not wearing the cloak. It kind of dispels my illusion of disbelief, anyway. I will be buying Glimmil a good number of potions of flying to cover this gap in his (and his mount's) capabilities.
I'll do Glim's shopping today. I need to see if I specifically missed a loot distribution when I missed leveling back last year. :)
I'm pretty sure one of the things he would do is try to get a +1 enchant on his masterwork lance (2,000g).
Dyrant Maynor, the Pre-Sainted
Awesome saucesome.
Rings Prot +2 to Atol, Glim, & Toffitt.
I gave my list to Glim to order from Skie, but still working on what's on it.
Current at 17K wealth, with 9.7K total to spend with final distributions.
In my perfect world, I'd get up to 20,700 to spend for the following:
8000 +3 Cloak (upgrade)
3000 Meta Rod Extend Lesser
3000 Meta Rod Acid Lesser
700 Scroll Gr False Life
6000 Casters Tattoo
Not sure what I'll be getting yet, but I have dreams.
Atol Lem
According to the treasure sheet, Atol is carrying a wand of see invisibility with 11 charges. I think that would be better held by Doctor Toffitt. If it already didn't happen, it should happen now. :)
Also for reference, Dyrant prodded Atol to take stock of his possessions and expenditures. Best guess (I've given some to the church, I didn't add up every scroll, and I'm including group purchased wands) is that I'm sitting on something like 30k WBL or a little less. Roughly...

Glimmil
Wow, 15K!
And that includes adding the +2 enchantment onto the lance? It looks like Glimmil will be doing some serious shopping.
I would like to get 3 potions of Fly (750gp a piece listed). Are these able to purchased at half cost with Toffitt crafting them?
Also would spending 6,000gp to add "holy" to his hook-hammer be possible?
I wish they still had cloaks of charisma -- headbands feel silly!
Doctor Abner Svengalu Toffitt
Thanks, Chris! Hard work, and much appreciated.
Totaling up Toffitt's recent purchases:
75 gp - Portable Alchemist's lab
6,000 gp - Agile to dueling blade
600 gp - craft 2 invisibility potions and 2 lesser restoration
-25 gp - selling masterwork backback
-12.5 gp - selling alchemist's kit
Please also add:
300 gp - another Oil of Align Weapon
150 gp - scroll of Ablative Barrier
40 gp - cost to record Ablative Barrier in formula book
Total: 7137.5 gp
Toffitt will happily craft fly potions for Glimmil at half price.

No, I missed the +2 lance (8,310).
Also, holy is +2 (16,0000 difference from +1).
Doctor Abner Svengalu Toffitt
Whatever assistance you can provide is appreciated, I figured the 3 of you could split my remaining funds three ways and make whatever you feel the group needs.
Atol made the good point that it might be better to just have folks request specific consumables for their characters when we're crafting, unless it's like a wand or something big like a Scroll of Raise Dead.
Speaking of which, is it time yet for a scroll of breath of life...?
So, anyway, I can suggest some things that Toffitt can craft which Finneas might fiind useful:
- Potions of barkskin - 150 gp each
- Potions of fly - 375 gp each
- Potions of heroism - 375 gp each (though Dyrant frequently casts this on you)
Atol Lem
Atol will have his +1 Full Plate magic-ed to +2 (3kgp), cast Masterwork Transformation on his Buckler (300gp) and have that magic-ed to +1 (1kgp). Net +2 AC (most of the time).
And like that I'm out of cash, but a little better protected. :D
Finneas, if you want to chip in 1,125gp, I can buy a scroll of Breath of Life. I'm not guaranteed to cast it, but nearly so. Might save a life, might not. Other than that Atol is pretty scrolled up. I'm sure there's something I forgot of course, but he does have a lot of scrolls... :)
Total gold spent this post 4,300gp
Doctor Abner Svengalu Toffitt
If you like, Atol, you can take Toffitt's masterwork buckler instead. I haven't sold it, but really won't be using it. Also, it's 150gp for armor and shields, not 300.
Toffitt has maybe 300 gold left, but happy to chip in toward Breath of Life.
GM_Chris
World building.
Due to the limited scope of this adventure geographically, there is limited world building to be done. However, we are into the high tiers and thinking about things such as scrying, teleporting, etc, are definitely reasonable and will have benefits/consequences. The appearance of Aralynn and always on detect evil has already forced me to change the actions of some of the BBEG (big bad evil guys) and begin adapting the module.
I will allow as much preparing and planning as the party would like to do, but will be doing the same for creatures in the module (based on intelligence of course).
Finneas Glenn
Ok, 1125 to Atol, two potions of Barkskin and one potion of fly from Toffitt brings me to 1800 spent. The rest goes to Dyrant for any scrolls he wants to make.
Atol Lem
Ahhh, thanks Doctor Toffitt!
Atol will use his buckler instead and donate his own to the church for some young and upcoming priest.
Instead of taking the cash back, he'll scribe some more scrolls...
Delay Poison 75gp
Calm Emotions 75gp
Sound Burst 75gp x2
Atol will also buy a scroll of Breath of Life along with a spring loaded wrist sheath to put it in (1,130gp)
DM_Chris - thanks for going above and beyond the module. Very col even though it's extra work. Thank you!
Total cash spent this post= 1,130gp of Finneas' funds
Glimmil
Ack, my original post was correct. I only meant +1 on the lance.
I come up with the following costs so far:
* Adding +1 to his lance (2000)
* Getting 3 potions of Fly from Toffitt (1125)
I'm sorting out all my purchases and the treasure today.
At the moment, not counting the extra Belt of Strength, Glimmil's net worth has shot up to 42,791g with the most recent disbursement and new magic items (ring of protection +2 and amulet of mighty fists).
Gnomish Hook Hammer +1 (2320)
Gnomish Full Plate +1 (2650)
Heavy Steel Shield +1 (1170)
Belt of Strength +2 (4000)
Small Mwk Comp Longbow +3 Str (700)
Silver Longsword (105)
Goggles of Minute Seeing (2500)
Masterwork Thieves Tools (100)
Ring of Protection +1 (2000)
Sub-Total (Pre-Hags/Alek) 15545
Ring of Protection +2 (8000)
Amulet of Mighty Fists +1 (4000)
Gold On Hand 15246
Total (Post-Hags/Alek) 42791
