Fighter Level 9

Ardanto still can't close on the enemy and continues to delay while he waits for a gap.

Male Human Wizard (Universal) 9

Daurros continues to attack with his rapier, exclaiming, "Why won't you die?"

rapier attack and damage (1d20+5=15, 1d6+4=10) Action Point to attack roll (1d6=1) @#$#@##!!

After just missing, he takes another 5' step back, hopefully requiring the SOB to make himself accessible to everyone if he wants to keep going after Daurros ...

Male Half-elf Monk 4/Sorcerer 1

Finn tries casting Daze again.

GM

Finn utters arcane words as the man seems to be dazed combined attacks from Guard the floating spark around him and daurros seems to be to much as the man seems to crumble in the wips at the door. the blade seems to fade from his hand and blood pour from his mouth as he whispers " How inconvenient" He collapses into a spreading pool of blood, only to mutter " EGO mos animadverto vos iterum infirme". and then he is still.

Forzakhad

Spoiler:

I will see you again weakling

Warforged Fighter 2 / Incarnate 4 / Ironsoul Forgemaster 3

Guard slowly lowers his halberd, looking at the body of the fallen. Seeing him dead, he lifts his gaze to the tiny blue bubble that conveniently floated back to his shoulder. In the dim light the smile on the face of the warforged was clearly visible.

"So, Captain. You know him? What did he say?"

Male Human Wizard (Universal) 9

Daurros, oozing blood from several wounds himself, retrieves his rapier from the magical force hand he had created. He walks over to the man, and thrusts his blade deep into the man's chest, ensuring he's dead.

Just in case anyone's interested (Thoven), I'm down to 2 hp. :-) Not bad for a 2nd level Wizard, going toe to toe with a soulknife, eh?

male Kalashtar Shaper 2

"I don't know him, but I know his kind. They are similar to what I am, but they are ruthless aberrations, because they suppress the spirit of their host when the Joining takes place, and have no qualms in setting them up to die, because they only return to Dal Quor. They try to purge us from the face of the world, because we are the only ones that know, that they only want to take over this realm, regardless of what they say. I known them as the Oneiro Nigro, that is the Dreaming Dark in your language."

Forzakhad looks down, takes a deep breath seemingly in a deep trance for five seconds and then looks up again.

"I may look like a human, but I am not, we are a Kalashtar. We are joined spirits, permanently joined. As to what this agent of the Dreaming Dark was saying, he was speaking Quori. He said first, that you're gonna die, Finn. Then he exclaimed, that we would not be able to kill him, and I answered, that I don't want to, that I want know what he knows. And as he went down he said, we'd meet again. His host may have been destroyed, but that will not stop him."

Warforged Fighter 2 / Incarnate 4 / Ironsoul Forgemaster 3

"So they kind of reincarnate in other bodies, with their full memory?
That sounds kind of bad. Do you think they are in some way connected to the Vanderbar Brother we search for?"

male Kalashtar Shaper 2

"They just take over another host, some hosts are willing and specially bred, but recently they can also possess unwilling vessels. If Vanthus is in league with these agents of the Dreaming Dark, I need his knowledge about their plans here in Sasserine. If he is only in league with the Lotus Dragons and the guild is doing business with the Quori agents, then I will need the knowledge of the one responsible from the side of the guild. Those two are not going to answer questions any more. Sad, but true."

Fighter Level 9

Ardanto listens with interest to the conversation, before nudging Daurros and whispering "and they call me crazy." He giggles to himself before setting to searching the man for any clues or gear.

Male Human Wizard (Universal) 9

Crap! The Goa'uld!! And that makes Forzakhad a Tok'ra. :-)

When Ardanto nudges Daurros, the weakened mage groans and stumbles to one knee. "Not good to elbow the bleeding man ..." he croaks out.

GM
Daurros Erdai wrote:

That is how i often explain it. They are very close and once was the same race. Tok'ra indeed

Male Half-elf Monk 4/Sorcerer 1

Finn looks grave as he grasps Thoven's arm. "That is the third time that you have saved my life, Father. I fear that I will never be able to repay you. But perhaps when we have brought Vanderboren to justice, I can begin to devote my life to the Silver Flame."

Warforged Fighter 2 / Incarnate 4 / Ironsoul Forgemaster 3

"I guess that means, we should try to not kill the next one we find in here?" Guard asks the Captain, then looking around the group and on the injuries.
"I think I should go first now."

GM

Ardanto

Spoiler:
While you can find nothing on the man his "rags" feel like chain to you. It looks like nothing but ragged cloths but sure feels like chainmail

Which way do you guys plan to go? are you done in this room? back or though the North east door?

Fighter Level 9

"My friend, can you continue?" he asks with genuine concern when he finally notices the wounds on Daurros.

While checking the corpse, he stops, "Hold on what in the nine hells is going on here?" he taps the dead man's "rags" with the pommel of his sword, noticing the metallic sound and feel. "Magic?" he queries, before stripping the clothing/armour (?) from the body.

"Rags, they are so last season," he remarks with disdain.

GM

The "rags" seem to cover the upper body and are heavy, they feel like chain armor. The don't feel like rages but they do sure look like them. It does take a while to take them off, as you can feel the buckles and belts holding the armor in place, but all you can see is rags.

Male Half-elf Monk 4/Sorcerer 1

"Let me examine this man's equipment," Finn suggests, his face pale again from loss of blood (again).

Detect Magic on the guy's stuff

GM

Finn

Spoiler:

After studying the item for a while2 rounds
You know that it is magic and has a moderate aura to it, but are unable to make out they type of magic. You would guess but it not being rags, but looking like them that it's an Illusion effect.

Male Half-elf Monk 4/Sorcerer 1

"His clothes are magic, all right, but I don't know much about what kind of magic it might be."

Male Human Wizard (Universal) 9

Healing? Thoven? Someone? Pretty please?

Fighter Level 9

"I bet you are all wishing you took these potions when I offered them out the other day?" Ardanto announces as he retrieves 3 bottles from his back pack.

"Shall we say 50gp each?" he asks with a wry smile and a wink at Daurros.

After a pause to let the indignation kick in he continues, "Nah, I am just jerking your chains, here you go."

He hands out 2 cure light wound potions and 1 cure serious wounds potion that we obtained from the caves below the island full of parrots, Daurros identified them, but no one claimed them.

Please let me know what you take so I can cross them off the list, I think Finn should have one as he is our resident "meat shield"

"Only me or Thoven wear armour?" Ardanto asks, but it more a statement than a question. "I might try it on if you think that is all right, but I am not being seen in public wearing it, what would my fans think!"

The correct term is "punching bag" or "sparring dummy".

Finn gratefully drinks a potion of healing.

Hopefully I'll stay out of melee from now on. Daurros takes a potion of cure light wounds and drinks it down, thanking his friend.

Out of combat potions do full healing, right Seeker?

Male Human Cleric 5th

" My healing would best be saved for combat, as you cant spill, or drop and break the divine restoritive energy of the Silver Flame!" He states giving finn a gentle pat on the back

"No my son, i am merely an instrument of the Flame's will, and he willed you to live another day. I have a feeling you are destined to do great things for the Silver Flame Finn."

Fighter Level 9

I have removed both the cure light wound potions off my sheet, Finn, write down the cure serious wounds potion on your sheet as well Mr Punch Bag.

"Well I am glad that the Flame is on our side, we are honoured by his continued blessing and I am grateful that you are at our side." Ardanto sounds almost normal for a moment.

"Right, through this door and onward to victory?" he heads to the far door before any one can answer before waiting for the usual series of checks.

GM

This chamber sports a large bed covered with furs. An iron cage sits at the floor, and a low table in the southeast corner is heaped with salted fish, bread and bottles of room

your map

Fighter Level 9

Ardanto will give the chamber a quick ransack for any treasure.

Male Human Wizard (Universal) 9

"Unless there are hidden passages here, it looks like we've met a dead end. We'll need to backtrack a bit."

Warforged Fighter 2 / Incarnate 4 / Ironsoul Forgemaster 3

"ARDANTO! I have no problem if you want to kill yourself, if only you do it alone. But with me around you will NOT endanger OTHERS." the warforged shouts angrily.
"And from now on, I will be the first to go into a room. I am still fully functional, and I can take some hits to the plate."

GM

There is a chest under the bed. It has 234 gp and a set of silver fleshing knives with ivory handles....you spot no secret doors in the sleeping room

EXPLORED AREA...RED MARKS UNEXPLORED DOORS

Male Human Wizard (Universal) 9

just to keep a running tally ...

  • magical chain armor (shirt? mail?)
  • 234gp
  • set of silver knives

Why don't we just go back to the last unexplored door we passed?

GM

Daurros you have appraise and detect magic...in pathfinder that allows you to try and ID the magic items, what there, command words and such

Warforged Fighter 2 / Incarnate 4 / Ironsoul Forgemaster 3

Last unexplored door sounds good to me.

Yeah, but doesn't it take some time? Didn't really want to sit down and study things while we're searching ... but if it's quick, here's an Appraise check.

Appraise (1d20+9=15) One of these days, the law of averages will catch up to me ...

GM

It takes 3 rounds and can only try a magic item 1/day for that items..but 15 does not cut if...ya got nada

Guard wrote:

Likewise

GM

Next area it is then

The walls of this long room are lined with dual bunks, eleven in all. The bunks sport sheets spotted with mildew, yet appear to be well slept in

Your map

Warforged Fighter 2 / Incarnate 4 / Ironsoul Forgemaster 3

Letting the others search for anything interesting, Guard goes forth to the door on the other side of the room.

GM

As the group searches the room Guard moves toward the door. You find nothing you would want to keep in the room, no chests no hidden stashes, not that you expected it in a den of thieves. On the other side of the door is a hall, a torch burns a ways down it bring light to the damp cramped hall. Another door lays close and it seems as if it branches off in a few places

Your map

Warforged Fighter 2 / Incarnate 4 / Ironsoul Forgemaster 3

Waiting for the others to follow, Guard walks to the first intersection, ignoring the door on the right. He then cautiously looks around the corner.

GM

The turn leads into a small dead end walkway, it extends 10 feet past the hall and seems to be a dead end.

Real life has been unkind to me, but I am back and really glad to see Whisper is still around. I'm catching up on posts and hope you'll all be alright with me returning to posting IC soon.

It is really good to see you back, you have been missed.

Fighter Level 9

Ardanto goes silent after the telling off from Guard, and follows him around in silence, pouting and petulant.

"Dead end?" he enquires, "why bother digging and finishing off a dead end, it is either a secret door or a trap."

Warforged Fighter 2 / Incarnate 4 / Ironsoul Forgemaster 3

"That's why I'm waiting here for Whisper to check it out."

Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!, Tacklehugs kayos. very glad to have ya back

Male Half-elf Monk 4/Sorcerer 1

Welcome back, Whisper! Does Finn's elvish secret door sense go off when he gets within 10' of the dead end?

GM

Finn

Spoiler:

Opps, forgot this time..Finn does spot what to him looks like a secret door

Male Half-elf Monk 4/Sorcerer 1

"There's definitely the outlines of a door there, if you look closely. Your intuition was correct this time, Ardanto. Whisper, could you check to make sure it's safe to pass through?" Finn asks in a low voice.
