Update, Ulthar is actually down 5 HP and has 2 con damage. Nothing to actually worry about yet.

In theory a tentacle might last a round so you have to fight more than one.

As this is getting tedious, and there's not much point to it, the critter will decide to stop losing limbs and combat is over.

You wander into the middle of the crystal structures. You find a sigil.

A soothing purple light dances within the etched cracks of this sigil. Approaching it grants a feeling of warmth and healing, as though all troubles have been washed away.

Ulthar carries on.

But is this the sigil we need?: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (7) + 18 = 25

You are pretty sure it is. Shame you have to destroy it. Marckus will probably be upset.

You aren't quite sure.

Though in the course of investigating you touch it and get the idea that a heal check might help (don't ask me, I don't write this stuff).

If I can take 20 on it, then Heal: 20 + 12 = 32

Ulthar is now a mind reader. I'm scared.

A character that touches the glyph is filled with
healing warmth. If that character succeeds on a DC 20 Heal check, he realizes that the glyph is filled with life and must be tampered with by an expert healer in order to deactivate it. As a full round action, a character adjacent to the glyph may attempt a DC 30 Heal check to divert the flow of life through its runes. This deactivates the aura as if a spell key had been cast. Three consecutive successful Heal checks made on the glyph deactivate it permanently, requiring
a new ritual from Allevrah to restore its power. These checks must be made in consecutive rounds, by the same character. If any damage is done to the glyph, the character must start the process over from the beginning.

While this won't work with taking 20, you have enough time for that rolling 3 8+s in a row is fairly inevitable.

Yes, you turned if off before Markus managed to pout you into submission.

Marckus pouts nonetheless.

"So what was next on the list?"

Next on the list is suggested the Glyph of Warning, which offing would cut off Allevrah from being able to monitor things. It's in a chunk of the land of black blood called the Fetid Place, a sort of fungus jungle.

Ulthar's no dirty halfling I don't know where you got that idea from.

"Eh." Ulthar is lukewarm about the idea to stop, but the noodle-armed party members asked so he feels obligated.

I just assumed we were *supposed to* rest between these things, but as a martial character as long as I have my HP I'm good.

Some modules have deadlines, this one sort of does.

The end of WotR for example has a fixed deadline at the end with the ruin of Avistan if you don't solve it fast enough.

as one of the noodle armed contingent Sileth will usually accept any opportunity to top off his tank.... But he actually doesn't need to do so at this time and is good to go... It's more up to Taedos

Rest is peaceful. You want to head onto Fetid land?

We'll assume yes.

In the western reaches of the Land of Black Blood grows a hideous and unnerving mass of fungus—the Hanging Jungle, a realm where ropes of thick, foul-smelling fungus hang from floor to ceiling. Mushrooms grow on the cavern’s floor and roof alike, many of them the size of trees. An eerie world exists between the caps of these mirrored mushroom forests, where down and up look the same.

You head to the indicated location of the glyph.

Rising out of the muck is a great, massive mushroom, its gradually sloping stalk rising hundreds of feet into the air—so far that light does not reach its tip from the cavern floor. A platform of fungal matter forms a sort of landing out of the swamp-like terrain, leading to a wide, tall gap in the side of the mushroom’s stalk fifty feet off the ground.

Ok guys. Here we are. This is where normal heroes(murder-hobos) would come up with a plan to maximize our chances of success. But we know that's not going to happen so lets charge in and see what happens

of course, Sileths not going to charge in. He'll follow the MBs and see what trap gets sprung and fire arrows at it
