Volkzari leaves the last explosive in Gear's capable hands, and then exits the room through the side door opposite Dex and Mr. Scott. She looks around desperately, trying to catch sight of the curly haired person she had noticed earlier.
Gear dismantles the last explosive, while Volk and Dex search the back rooms. They make their way to the A/V room in the back, where they spot the curly assassin, holding a remote detonation device.

Having finally found her target, Volkzari automatically activates the set of telemetric readings on the curly-haired person standing right in front of her. While heartbeat and body temperature readings stream across her vision, she reaches automatically for the screamer grenade resting at her belt. But just in time she remembers that they are meant to be dealing with the situation without alarming all of the guests, and she withdraws her hand.
Instead, she takes a couple steps into the room and tries to look as large and imposing as possible. "We know what you're up to. Your scheme is over, so give it up now."

When the villain rushes up to Volkzari and tries to stab her with a knife, the vesk responds in the way that feels most natural: she tries to rake her with her claws.

"Er...hey...stop that!"I thought they were just supposed to give up when they were caught."Don't make me shoot!" Dex gestures aggressively at the assassin, accidentally discharging a shot, grazing her shoulder.

If there was to many guns for Dex before, there DEFINITLY are now as Gear and her Bot step through the door, Gear stepping behind Volk and punching some numbers into Boytoy.

"Will... you... hold... still?!" Volkzari hisses in frustration as the would-be assassin dodges her blows. At least that knife is too pathetically weak to penetrate the vesk's armor. Now that she has backup from both sides, she attempts to whirl around and land a tail slap.
Dex burns off some of the curly hair, and Gear lands a more solid shot. Volkzari tail-slaps the assassin. The assassin responds by drawing a deep cut in Volkzari's arm.

Volkzari hisses in pain when the knife proves itself to be not quite so weak as she had imagined. However, she stands her ground and lashes out once more with her claws, trying to aim a little more carefully for an unprotected spot.
Gear and Dex shoot the assassin, when a supercharged blast fills the air and slams into the wall, with a shocked assassin being relieved that she dodged the blast. Volkzari seems shocked by the blast and misses.
The assassin doesn't let up, and slashes at Volkzari again
Mr. Scott mumbles to himself while tinkering with his weapon settings again (Mr. Scott is casting Super charge weapon again.). She certainly is a tough lass this one...if I ken only hit the broadside of a barn..she won't be feeling so tough! Mr. Scott has a bit of sweat dripping from his forehead. I only hope I'm in time to save the Vesk! She's been a brave companion on this mission.

Volkzari jerks in surprise when an intense blast comes tearing in their general direction and explodes against the wall. She blinks at Mr. Scott. "Give a person a little warning next time!"
But while she's not looking a second painful slash of the knife gets through her armor, and Volkzari can't hold back a cry of pain. She briefly considers trying to back away from the assailant, but something snaps deep in her vesk brain and she puffs up to her full seven-foot height. "I respect your persistence, but - you're dead!" she cries, and tries to execute a self-defensive punching maneuver.
Mr. Scott fires his supercharged weapon supercharged laser pistol:1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21dmg:1d4 + 4d6 ⇒ (2) + (4, 5, 5, 1) = 17xtra dmg:1d4 + 4d6 ⇒ (1) + (4, 2, 2, 1) = 10 finally!!! not that we'll need it but I'll list the burn dmg she takes on the beginning of her turn.burn dmg:1d6 ⇒ 2
Mr Scott fires his over-loaded weapon at curly sue and is aghast at the damage it does...umm...yeah...umm sorry bout' that lass...but ye picked a fight with the wrong people Mr. Scott looks away from the mess he made.

The Captain's stomach lurches in attempt to dislodge dinner, but he manages to keep it down. "Umm...is there anything left for the authorities?" He then looks over to the engineer, "Good shooting Mr. Scott."
Scott delivers a blast that will bring down any assassin, including this one. The curly-haired creature collapses and revert into a snake-like form.
As the party returns to the hall, Zo seems to have run out of breath, but Luwazi is just about to steo up for her speech.
“I had planned for this evening’s announcement to be an exciting one, but I’ll admit this is not quite what I had in mind,” the First Seeker begins, her smile wry but determined. “Now I find my resolve only further galvanized.
“As many of you know, the First Seeker has the privilege and the responsibility for choosing the direction of the Starfinder Society’s research efforts. I have refrained from setting such a direction while we regroup and rebuild—an undertaking which all of you here have made possible. Also, the fact that Guidance has not yet chosen to formalize my election is another matter, but not one the Society can risk dwelling on. Now that the Society is again in a position to reach for the stars, I am pleased to formally announce the focus of our efforts during my tenure. Thanks to the tireless research of my associate Royo, we have identified a lead on understanding the Scoured Stars incident. And so, the Starfinder Society will continue researching the Scoured Stars, in the hopes of reuniting with our lost colleagues and better understanding this phenomenon.”
She pauses a moment, and meets the eyes of the adventurers: “And I already have highly qualified agents in mind to undertake the first mission!
There is a moment of surprised quiet over the room, and then the guests, starting with Ykris, begin to applaud in force. Iteration-177 regards the elected First Seeker with an indiscernible expression, slowly joining in on the applause. Royo nods enthusiastically, taking in some of the fanfare for his role in the announcement. Naiaj frantically appends work orders, noticeably perturbed by some news she has just received. Zo! actively backs away from the assembled group, still enthusiastically clapping but also making desperate calls to acquire televised rights to all Scoured Stars related endeavors.
That is the end of the mission - I will report and start preparing chronicles. Thank you all for playing!

Could you please report that scenario too when you report this one? Thank you GM Kludde; I sent you a PM regarding the reputation awarded my character Harec in the cries from the drift game you ran..When you can, could you please have a look at it? Also be aware, Mr. Scott is a member of the Second Seekers which entitles him to an extra Reputation point should he have met both the secondary and primary mission goals in the first mandate mission. (ie. 3 reputation instead of 2)
You've all met the conditions for Second Seekers and Acquisitives.
If I understand the SFS rules correctly:
- You all gain 2 Fame
- You all gain 2 reputation with your slotted faction
- You all gain 1 reputation with Second Seekers
- You all gain 1 reputation with Acquisitives
I'm only now reading up on that part of the organised play doc, and I'm pretty knackered, so apologies if I have it wrong.
Can't really mark on the chronicle atm, but I will work on an update if I manage.
