Floredana Mandulescu |
"This doesn't look good, is that the creature we heard about? That explains where those hideous creatures have come from..." Flo points out as she pulls her wand and showers her companions in clockwork butterflies. Maybe we can guarantee the safety of Sandpoint from these creatures by disrupting that device!

cade sees that he has no way to engage the closest creature so he moves out towards the other one. He does not want to get too close as that would make it harder for the other to attack. So he stops at a point where he feels that they would have the best tactical advantage.
Rig Veda |
can you throw something at that guy cade, like a dagger or alch fire?
Cade Goodbarrel |
Not this round he is too far away for me to be effective...the penalty would be high..I think at least. I would have to move and then retrieve the item as it is not in my hand. So I would not be able to attack this round with it and when he gets in range next round I may not be able to use it with him on top of me.

Kargas' falchion cuts deeply, but Rig is not able to score a hit.

Cade: Do you have your rapier in your right hand and your main gauche in your left? You have a BAB of +1 so you can draw a weapon as you move, though not if your hands are full.

Luarana scrambled away from the creature, she wanted to thank her protectors but knew know was not the time. She reached a better location and held the scroll before her. She read the magical words and was rewarded with the flaming sphere that appeared before her. She pointed at the abomination in front of her and the flame moved until it slammed into it. But the creature dodged, bringing a look of consternation to her face.

The small flying creature shrieks again. "Ha! Your wrath only makes me stronger!" She cuts her arm again, and more blood drips into the pool. This time, the light from the pool flickers and dims, and another creature rises out; only it is one of the strange, misshapen creatures with a torso but no arms.
The new creature waddles down the stairs towards the action, coming into contact with Kargas and Rig. The other tears into Kargas with tooth and claw, and all three strikes hit! For a moment Kargas feels overwhelmed with anger, but manages to retain control.

Cade attacks the other tall creature, but his rapier catches on the creatures broken armor.
Cade: the flaming sphere is not a creature and does not threaten, so it does not allow you to flank. It is actually occupying the same space as the creature but I put it to one side so the icons wouldn't cover one another.

Reflex: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
Laurana: You have taken too many actions.
Causing the flaming sphere to move requires a move action. So you have a standard action remaining. You could take a 5' step and shoot, or you can move.
If you shoot, I will use your roll as your attack, and the creature will get an attack of opportunity with its ranseur (since it has reach). If you move, I will use the roll as your acrobatics roll to get out of the creature's threatened area.
So: Shoot? Or Move?
Laurana Kanan |
Thanks, I forgot that was a move action. Lots of rage that it missed again. She will take the AOO since she has mage armor still up (I assume it is still active) and fire the shot.
Rune GM |
As Laurana pulls back her bow, the bizarre creature thrusts at her with its polearm, but it is distracted by Colvyn and misses. Laurana gets her shot off, but she is too worried about hitting Kargas and her shot misses.
The bizarre little creature snaps at Floredana, but Flo steps out of the way of the blow. The little creature then steps out from between Rig and Floredana.

If you wish to try to hit the invisible quasit, indicate which square you want to aim for (you probably want to aim for the one where she was last visible). The last spot the creature was visible is out of melee reach for a normal weapon, but a character standing on the corner could still get to it with a reach weapon.
Kargas Stormscar |

Powder Throw vs AC5: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11 Let's see what 1cp gets us!
If that reveals the quasit for this round...
Kargas: Not sure why you think the AC would be 5 here. The last spot you saw the quasit was about 10' up from you over the edge of the platform. It will be AC 5 to hit the square she is in, but then the bag just passes through the square; it must hit something solid in order to burst open and scatter powder around. To hit her with a bag of powder you will need to hit her touch AC and also make a 50% miss chance.
FYI you could also open the bag and pour it into an adjacent square; no roll would be required for that.
Kargas throws a bag of powder, which sails across the room and hits the far wall. Laurana finds herself lightly dusted with flour.
Rig attempts to strike the small creature but misses. Floredana grants Colvyn a Bit of Luck.
Cade manages to get past the bizarre creature's defenses and strikes the thing in what he thinks ought to be its kidney. The creature turns and snarls at Cade.
