Is that what you really want to do?

@Lanliss You currently stand about 50 feet away from the vault doors that stand on the far end of the room. It is hard to tell but from the ones you can see that are open the remains are still within the vaults but have been pillaged through for jewelry and other valuables.

Because you cant see the map. This room is 45ft deep by 30 wide. 10 ft in on each side are three stone tables where people lay the bodies for burial prep. There are two on each side, leaving one table on each side empty. On the right side of the room 30 ft in opens up as if this room could be the shape of an L. Also at 30 ft in is a row that fully crosses the width of the room with rubble from broken stone tables. Hopefully this helps until you can get somewhere to see the image.

There is still room of one more person on the landing before going down the stairs. Who ever is on the landing can tell this about the body at the bottom of the stairs.

From the description this is infact Desiree Yurling. She unfortunately as been bludgeoned to death.

Suddenly, the corpse on the nearby table swings its arm at Brunner, but misses. Moaning accompanies another corpse’s shifting from its resting place and begins to shamble up from the slab. Deeper within the room you hear a sound of clattering.

On the map the two corpses that come to life is the one to the left directly at the bottom of the stairs. The second one is on the middle table to the right of the stairs.

Dalrons readied action does indeed go off as the zombie springs to life and he fires an arrow that sinks deeply into the body. It almost looks as if it went into it too easily.

Brunner attacks out with his Warhammer and firmly hits the body with a blow that would have dropped any other foe.

You realize from either your past experience or with your studies of undead that this is a zombie. You know that this creature hasn’t fallen because it has some resistance against all damage from physical weapons except for slashing. You remember that slashing weapons does indeed cut them down to size.

When the zombie attacks Brunner, Scarlet swings into action and thrust his rapier at the undead threat. "We got zombies down here." he informs the others still above.

Scarlet moves up but his attack just misses. The zombie that is attacking out at Brunner continues to do so as the other one moves off the table and moves towards the party

Barnabus fires freezes off a ray of frost that goes just wide. Lanliss’s arrow strikes true but goes in easier than you would think. You’re very surprised that this creature is still standing after all of the attacks it has taken.

"Lets finish this zombie off and then the other before whatever is beyond making that noise can join in our fun." laughing nervously.

He then thrust his blade at the zombie with Brunner again.

Brunner with his quick thinking switches weapons and finishes off the zombie, Scarlet tries to take a quick stab at the remaining zombie but it falls short. The zombie swings back out at Scarlet but misses.

The clattering comes from animated skeletons that round the corner from the passage to the east. All are unarmored and each wields a bow and has a quiver at its hip. The skeletal archers have arrows nocked and each one is swathed in flame. They let the arrows fly, each one targeting the remaining party members on the stairs or the landing. Lanliss and Dalron evading their arrows with ease. The arrow flying towards Barnabus strikes true and causes him to take a knee while holding his chest in agony.

Dalron lets loose an arrow that just goes wide of the target. The skeleton that you missed looks down where the arrow missed, looks back up at you, and begins to reach for another arrow that ignites as he begins to draw it.

Being on the platform or the stairs makes you just out of the 30 ft reach. If you were on the regular floor you would be within reach, but that area is currently being occupied by a dead woman, a downed zombie, Brunner, Scarlet, and a zombie attacking out at Scarlet.

Conflicted, Lanliss frantically looks between Barnabus and the skeletal archers. (How many skeletons, by the way?) Coming to a decision, he calls out, "Try to get a potion into Barnabus!" as he moves forward a few feet towards the archers and channels positive energy, causing each skeleton to take...

channel: 1d6 ⇒ 1 ...points of damage.

"And save one for me," he mumbles.

Ugh. It's going to be one of those battles.

Lanliss, witnessing the destruction caused from the volley of arrows, leaps into action. Moving down the stairs, past Brunner and Scarlet, dodging an attack from the Zombie at the bast of the stairs, and moving up the the edge of the rubble which divides the party from the three skeletal archers. Holding onto his holy symbol he says a prayer to Desna and positive energy surges through the room. As he does this the undead let out a hallowed moan as they take damage from the energy surge.

Seeing the first zombie drop, and the second attack Scarlet he ignores the skeletons long enough to help Scarlet. ”Hang oan scarlit laddie, we will deal wi' these in deid.” Dropping the shield to a low position he swings the axe ove handed at the zombies head.

Brunner and Scarlet both attack out at the zombie that is currently on Scarlet. Brunner’s attack is fully effective, Scarlets attack seems to slide smoothly in and back out of the zombie. It attacks out at Brunner in return.

Brunner takes 7, and is at 9. Lanliss takes 9, and is at 0 but standing.

Still holding his side where the arrow is sticking out with his left hand, Barnabus focuses his will and creates a glowing blue ball of force in his right.

He slings the force missile sidearm at one of the skeleton archers on the other side of the room.

"Take that ye dead bugger!" he calls out as he launches the missile.

His ears ringing and his eyes watering from the blow to his face, Brunner glares at the zombie. "Blasted undeid! Ah hink ye broke mah jaw. Wa dornt ye die awreddy." Then swinging his axe in an upward motion, tries to disembowel the attacker.

Brunner swings a hefty swing splitting the zombie up its middle causing the axe to get lodged ribs. The zombie falls to the ground lifeless pulling the battle axe free from Brunner’s hand. Looking up at the lone skeleton he reaches down and picks up his hammer and moves to the wall of rubble and begins to climb over.

They are roughly 25 feet away from where you were, but there is a pile of broken stone standing in the way that is difficult terrain. You are able to almost get there, hammer in hand.

Scarlet is up with one remaining skeleton.

Scarlet dashes toward the broken stone and uses it for cover as he switches his rapier to his offhand and grabs his light mace with his main hand.

Scarlet moves up towards the rubble line and hides behind it.

Even though Brunner charging up and beginning to climb the rubble does get the skeletons attention, it does continue to attack out at Lanliss. It draws an arrow from the quiver at its hip and it does not burst into flames. Lanliss is hit with a regular arrow and takes 1 damage.

For anyone who is ontop of the rubble or peering over it, they can now see the new map posted up in the map section, also posting it here.

Barnabus focuses again on his right hand, willing a sphere of pure force to coalesce into existence.

"I am done with these undead." he growls as he sidearm tosses the force missile at the undead archer.

Then he sits down heavily, still holding the arrow lodged in his side.

"A little help please...." he grumps through the pain between clenched teeth.

Brunner flings a third missile towards the last skeleton, it hits it square in the chest and causes it to fall to pieces.

Barnabus eases the arrow out of his side.

"Does anyone have a spare healing potion? I used mine to get Lanliss back on his feet earlier."

Lanliss blushes and gives Barnabus one of his healing potions.


Seeing the final undead fall, Brunner breaths a sigh of relief, Turning as Lanliss casts his spell, he nods, "Thenk ye Lanliss."

He begins to reach into his pouch for a vial to give Barnabus, just as Lanliss hands a potion to his fellow dwarf. Tipping the vial, he smiles. "Weel since barnabus is skitin' 'at one, i'll bevvy thes one myself." He then drinks the healing potion he was carrying.

Wiping his mouth, he fetches his axe from the zombie's carcass, and moves to the end of the crypt. Guarding the door in case something comes through, he waits until the others are ready to proceed.
