Tassadar the Pirate |
Tassadar takes a 5 ft step back then tries to slice of the spider's legs, but hits only the floor.
slice: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Goldus Glintsnatch |
whoops
In that case Goldus will simply back away and check the parties behind to make sure they’re not at risk of an ambush, thinking that it was best he save his precious few resources for now.
perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Flouncy Magoo |
Flouncy hasn't done much to the spider, so he tries again.
x-bow: 1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (20) + 5 - 4 = 21
confirm: 1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (19) + 5 - 4 = 20
Noice!
dmg: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 6) = 9
Take that, eight-legged freak!
Goldus Glintsnatch |
Goldus turns on his heel hearing the spider collapse onto the ground and joins the dots following Flouncy’s smack talk.
Wonderful shooting master Magoo, now if I may
Goldus recasts Dancing lights above the entrance see anymore of those creepy fellows down there? I can’t imagine it’s all alone, unless perhaps some resourceful fellows have trained him, in which case we’d have to deal with some resourceful fellows.
Tassadar the Pirate |
"Urm I think the spider was a male spider. If there's a male spider, there might be a female spider somewhere...again wait, don't male spiders eat female spiders?" He asks the party.
Told you I can be a sink for obscure knowledge...if its the subjects I'm interested in...
Tassadar the Pirate |
"Yeah it was female spiders eating male spiders. So maybe there might not be female spiders around."
Above was a typo in order, I blame my phone ^^
Goldus Glintsnatch |
yes, if I’m not mistaken that is the origin of the name black widow
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
is no-one else rolling perception?
looks as though someone else has already fallen victim to our eight legged foe says Goldus peering into the whole, look, at the bottom of the stairs there
Tassadar the Pirate |
"Well, lets go." Tassadar descends the stairs while keeping an eye out for threats.
Can you assume I will be looking around as I move into place and exploring other places? Feel free to roll my perception for me, modifier is +4
Goldus Glintsnatch |
what do you propose we do?
Ask Goldus himself wondering whether burning it would be a solution, thinking perhaps that the smoke may cause any other occupants to come exploring.
Though he did fear it would be rather disrespectful. And potentially smelly.
Tassadar the Pirate |
"Oh that guy. First we see if he's still alive, if he's not, then I guess we set fire to the webs and his body as well." Tassadar goes down the ladder to cut the person free then checks if he's still alive.
heal: 1d20 ⇒ 19
GM John Napier |
He is dead. He's been completely drained of fluids, and you're not sure for how long. When he died, he was wearing a suit of chainmail and was wielding a rapier. He was wearing a backpack.
Tassadar's Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
Tassadar, you find yourself in a 15 by 15 foot chamber. The ladder is in the center of one wall. There are three doors, one each in the center of the three remaining walls.
Goldus Glintsnatch |
Goldus starts to rather clumsily make his way down the ladder, struggling to reach each wrung.
i have to say Human ladders are a challenge. So what’s the Verdict Dr.Tassadar will out patient live?
Flouncy Magoo |
Wait a minute. What's in the pack?
Flouncy will look in it for anything useful or valuable, taking 20 for 24 perception.
He'll then disarm his crossbow and go down after Goldus.
Tassadar the Pirate |
"He's dead, Goldus." Tassadar answers matter of factly. "In fact, he died some time back."
Tassadar holds out the Chainmail to Aeden. "Do you want to use it?"If you don't, I will."
"Not interested in rapiers, if you want to check the backpack, go ahead, Flouncy."
Tassadar checks if any of the doors are trapped.
Door 1 perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Door 2 perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Door 3 perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Then he opens the first one.
This is all of course after all the loot distribution and changing of armor has been done.
Tassadar the Pirate |
"Hey, what's this?" Tassadar hands the silver holy symbol to Aeden. "Looks like some priesty stuff to me," he peers at the symbol dubiously.
str check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Tassadar tries to kick the door with his foot, but only ends up hurting his foot. "Ow! ow! ow! ow! What did I do to you you stupid door?" he howls with pain while hopping on one leg, conveniently forgetting he was the one to choose to assault the door.
str check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Once he recovers over his stubbed foot, he rams the door with his shoulder. As the door breaks into splinters, he gives a savage yell of satisfaction, "Take that you oversized lump of wood! I'll show you who's the boss!"
Goldus Glintsnatch |
Poor chap replied Goldus solemnly.
On the bright side if our foes as challenging as these doors it looks as though our chances of success are high
He says with a little chuckle. Goldus recognised the holy symbol but thought he’d best leave that to Aeden to explain.
If Flouncy shows Goldus the Scrolls/Potions he can try to identify them.
GM John Napier |
Tassadar: You see what appears to be an Armory. Everything you see here has been preserved against the ravages of time by being coated in Paraffin Wax. You see:
a Glaive,
2 Quarterstaffs,
a Light Crossbow with about a hundred Bolts,
2 Longswords,
2 Shortswords,
a Rapier,
a Sling,
2 Daggers,
and a Longsword, which is separate from the other two.
Tassadar the Pirate |
"I think I've found the armory!" Tassadar exclaims. "Does anyone want any of these?" He takes all of them out and puts it in a heap at the party's feet, except for the glaive and a longsword, which he keeps. "One of you check if anything is magical."He urges.
Once the division of loot and checking of magical items is done
Tassadar tries to bust open the second door.
str check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
"Tassadar, the famous door buster!" Tassadar brags shamelessly as the door falls into splinters. "Whada ya guys know, I have hidden talents!"
Goldus Glintsnatch |
What an interesting looking arsenal said Goldus peering into the armory and wondering how much of a quarterstaff he'd need Tassadar to cut off before it fit him.
Goldus knows neither Detect nor read magic yet but he'll give a spell craft check a go, xD level 1 fun lol
For the scroll Spellcraft: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
For the potions Spellcraft: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
Goldus Chuckles at Tassadar's braking down of another door but is quickly distracted by the content Now this might be more my speed
Tassadar the Pirate |
Tassadar feels distinctively nervous in the second room. "I feel like a bull in a china shop. There are so many breakables in there. I think I better stay out of it. "He edges out of that room hastily. He also shows his longsword off to Jared.
Tassadar the Pirate |
"Uh huh."Tassadar mutters non committally.
Once Goldus has looked and looted all those fragile things.
"All right! Next door here we go!"
Tassadar tries to shoulder slam the door open but the door stubbornly refuses to budge.
str check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
He tries again. "Arrrrghhh you're more stubborn then a mule!" He scolds the door.
str check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
He tries again, this time with his foot, kicking the door open. "And the boot works!"
str check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Goldus Glintsnatch |
Im afraid Master Magoo that the potions are for now somewhat of a mystery to me, these scrolls however are of divine origin, they allow one, when wielded to manifest the aid spell
Goldus hands the goods back to Flouncy and heads back into the room of glass ware.
Perhaps that is for the best Master Tassadar Goldus begins riffling through the room careful not to brake any glass ware or disturb the chemicals.
After a minute or so he popped his head out, what we have here my friends in a masterwork Alchemical set. Handy if you know how to use it worth a pretty penny if you don’t and also very heavy, could someone lend a hand?
Goldus waddled back into the room to have a quick riffle through the various odds and ends and the promptly fell on his ass laughing Well you’ll never guess what I found he said quickly hopping back up and scooping various glittering odds and ends into out of the cupboard and worked out of the room.
Tassadar the Pirate |
"Oh sure, I'll help you haul it out of the room." He helps hauls the masterwork alchemical set out of the room. "Urm...I hope you don't intend for me to carry it all the way back to town..we have mules, you know."
Goldus Glintsnatch |
Well I propose we carry it up out of this place and stash it in a bush for later
Said Goldus who seemed to be bouncing from one foot to the other with excitement. He had never expected to come across something so valuable as this. And what were the chances of there can’t after all be too many Silksworn in this part of the world.
