Duncan I need the hound to make Will save. DC 21, if it fails it is immediately repelled back to it's home plane before it attacked. You can tell that the temple is protected by strong to overwhelming unholy magic.

Evil GM

Karnog:
You sense this entire chamber is protected by a dispel good and unholy magic.

Duncan you are certain your blessing went off perfectly, but to your dismay as soon as the tunnel bright light arrived it faded to black. As powerful unholy magic slammed to pathway shut.

Evil GM

RD 2: Fodder

Duncan you step up but your hound does not appear. You do see that the acolytes are looking quite frail. You then get blasted with multiple channels of negative harmful energy.

I miscalculate the Will save, I forgot to add some bonuses they get because they are in a temple. DC 18 for half damage.

neg channel 1: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 2) = 8
neg channel 2: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 6) = 7
neg channel 3: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 2) = 4
neg channel 4: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 1) = 2
neg channel 5: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 1) = 7
neg channel 6: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 3) = 8

King Grung you also have some Will saves, DC 18 as multiple waves of negative energy washes over you.

neg channel 1: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 3) = 6
neg channel 2: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 3) = 5
neg channel 3: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 4) = 8
neg channel 4: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 3) = 8

Duncan ALMOST swears a curse when the Divine doorway fails to remain open long enough for the Hound to step through.

Wave upon wave of Channelled negative energy washes over him yet again. And again his DEATHLESS CELESTIAL FULL PLATE negates all the damage completely.

The acolytes were trying to wear them down but it would be for nothing against he. His Allies however did not possess his blessed Armor and would be feeling the sting.

He needed to kill this lot as quickly as he could....

His Magical sentiment scabbard echoed his thoughts.
These are fodder good dwarf. Either send them to hell or get your friends past this darkness.

The Scabbard fulfills it's function and attempts to Intimidate all the acolytes.

The scabbard is an intelligent item that can act on Duncan's turn
Crusader Scabbard Demoralize: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

While the user is in combat, the scabbard hurls threats of righteous retribution in a loud, clear voice as it attempts to demoralize opponents (Intimidate bonus of +7).

The consciousness within the crusader’s scabbard is valorous and stridently condemns displays of cowardice or dishonesty

"Unholy magic protects them from our spells and attacks. Also, summons and called creatures might..."

Seeing the archon wink out as Duncan uses his blessing, Karnog breathes out a curse.

"Be dismissed back to their home. Like that. Damn."

Evil GM

Duncan's scabbard begins to yak but it is easily ignored by those within earshot.

King Grung:
You feel like your flesh is being gnawed and torn, as if by teeth. You begin to understand that funny air was biting. You also realize the fodder acolytes are also taking damage.

King Grung: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 2) = 9

Evil GM

Nym your ghostly light spell disapates as it hits the darkness.

Nym:
You know this is an arcane spell. This is a tortorus spell, hungry darkness, and you are quite familar with given your background. It is a powerful spell (7th lvl) available to the most trained arcane casters.

An intesnse area of deeper darkness is filled with unseen chewing teeth and ravenous maws. Any creatures beginning its turn within the hungry darkness is gnawed and slashed by these unseen fangs of force, dealing 3d6 points of force damage and 2 points of Constitution damage per round.

Once a creature leaves the cloud, it continues to take 1d6 points of bleed damage each round until it receives magical healing or enters an area of bright light. Spell Resistance can prevent damage from the hungry darkness but not against the darkness it creates.

Nym here is the answer to Karnog:
Oil of daylight would not be strong enough to pierce the darkness. A couple options would be dispel or to run through the darkness, but not stop in it. The damage doesn't happen unless you begin your action in the darekness. You know that the spell has a 60 ft radius.

Nym to Desmond:
The lecherous thief makes a good point about letting the darkness kill the acolytes. However, you are trying to breach a temple of prince of the undead, if they die they will probably rise as an undead foe. A honor for lowly priest.

He knew his sword brothers would surely not desert him. He and Grungsdi were the edge of the axe and Karnog was the stone that kept the edge sharp and true.
