Kaztor Strongforge |
"It might be good to go check on our fort. We need to be sure everyone is getting along and our little armorer is still getting work done. A surprise pop in visit might be case for."
Dolgrin Brightlaughter |
Perhaps, but I think we should at least find a clear stopping point in this place that we will recognize if something has changed.
Dolgrin shrugs, then settles in for the evening.
Irenicus |
you can provide long term care if anyone has heal skill, would increase to 2 damage in 8hrs of rest I believe. I know because of that crappy against the giants game I was in as healer lol.
brvheart |
Providing long-term care means treating a wounded person for a day or more. If your Heal check is successful, the patient recovers hit points or ability score points (lost to ability damage) at twice the normal rate: 2 hit points per level for a full 8 hours of rest in a day, or 4 hit points per level for each full day of complete rest; 2 ability score points for a full 8 hours of rest in a day, or 4 ability score points for each full day of complete rest.
You can tend as many as six patients at a time. You need a few items and supplies (bandages, salves, and so on) that are easy to come by in settled lands. Giving long-term care counts as light activity for the healer. You cannot give long-term care to yourself.
So you will need a healer's kit and it is a DC 15 heal check. 1 use per person of the kit.
Kaztor Strongforge |
Next time in town, we need to pick up a couple healer's kits, then. We could leave them in our fort, and maybe carry one with us.
Elathras Narcinal |
so did we hold up for the night? I assume we posted guards? Are we dumping some food in the barrels on the bandits area before we go to the castle?
Elathras settles in for a few hours sleep before it is his watch. pondering as he goes to sleep. These beds are fairly comfortable, wonder who brought them here
brvheart |
The night passed uneventfully, although occasionally you hear scratching at the door. Morning dawns.
Elathras Narcinal |
As the group gets up and around, Elathras feeling marginally better, gathers his gear and says "Are we ready to head to Zelkor's Ferry, then we can go to the castle after we hire more workmen." Waiting until everyone is ready he leads them back to the main entrance and toward town.
brvheart |
Pappy looks up from his table and remarks, "I recognize that look. How was your delve into the Mouth?"
Mitleid |
"Actually good, actually good. Those fine lasses are the same who left, all alive and compla... a kicking, and we carry a nice bag full of shiny items. I would say... a good start!"
Elathras Narcinal |
Elathras nods his head as Mitleid answers the old man, then he sits at a nearby table ready to order a round for the team and hoping they have plenty cooked for supper, "Virgil, lets get something to eat and drink, carrying stuff makes me hungry!" hearing Wdrozgruk talk about snake stew, Elathras adds, "Mmmm, snake stew good, Tell them about the snake you killed Wdrozgruk, the steaks we cooked from it was delicious!" He then starts rummaging through his pack looking for the skin to show everyone.
Virgil the Vigilant |
Virgil, good-tempered for the first time in days, happily joins in. "Oh, that snake! There I was, swinging at the thing in melee, and it looked grim. I don't think I hit it once, then it bit down..." he pauses, showing the inn the nasty snakebite on his shoulder, "and I thought I was a goner. Until I heard this whistling..."
The ranger ends his part of the story there, letting someone else (someone more charismatic) finish it off.
brvheart |
"Ya bring any of the snake meat fer us to cook that stew with or just the skin?" says Amelia. "Adventures, leaving good meat to rot!"
Elathras Narcinal |
I'm so proud of them! nodding as they told the story, beaming with pride, he didn't interrupt until Amelia asked if they brought the meat, Elathras nods his head yes, I stored the meat in the hide, it was a good rapper and pulling out of his back pack the remaining steaks from the snake he hands the steaks to Amelia saying "we do not waste good food, but we do share!"
Wdrozgrúk |
"Lots there for snake stew. Hmmmmm. I wonder… Would anyone eating some of that made just right be fire resistant? Hey! I wonder if that snake's skin might provide protection against fire, since it was immune to my fire magic while it was alive."
knowledge (arcana) *: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
just in case
brvheart |
That is probably why it is that valuable, but beyond the ability of anyone here to work with.
brvheart |
I would be worried if it were 666! Typo that I needed to correct!
Kaztor Strongforge |
Kaz took a mug of grog, and sat back quiet but happy. He was pleased toet Bjorn handle the healing for the time being. He was also more than happy to sleep in a comfortable bed for the time being.
Elathras Narcinal |
hearing the words 'head wound' Elathras lifts up his flagon of ale, after having drank half of it, frothy mustache on his lip he says "It's ok Bjorn, just get my friend Virgil and I better and we will be ok to go back!"
Dolgrin Brightlaughter |
Kaztor, there are beds and showers here. Truly, we have arrived in civilization once more.
Dolgrin seems pleased at the prospect of cleaning his gear.
Kaztor Strongforge |
"This is the happiest I've been in quite a few days! A day of recovery before setting back out is important."
Elathras Narcinal |
after a pleasant supper and a few more flagons of ale Elathras smiles and tells Amelia, "At least this time we still have money, so I don't have to chop wood, but Virgil" he stops and thinks for a moment, "Or maybe Irenicus has it all, they will pay." Then turning to Bjorn as he stands, stumbling only slightly he ask "So this "stay in my care for the rest of the day and tomorrow" what does that entail, are we chopping wood for the temple or what?" Elathras, who seems to be happier with a slight buzz stumbles slightly as he follows Bjorn.
so two days resting, are we hand waiving those, or will the rest of the party use the time to pick up a few items, arrows and such? Or are we doing a list and hand waiving the shopping?

paper and inks. That should be available. Check the core for prices.
Kaztor Strongforge |
Kaz can make scrolls as well. Did we ever figure out what each of our shares are worth right now? Kaz needs some gold for scrolls!
Irenicus |
it's 12.5gp for a lvl1 scroll, and I've got the supplies, just making sure. What is our share anyway? I have no idea. According to magic item crafting I could make scrolls for spells someone else supplies during creation, I believe, if gruk has a good one to make.
Elathras Narcinal |
The morning of the second day Elathras awakens feeling much better, thanking Bjorn, Elathras prepares to leave after a quick breakfast and Gruk passing out money, Elathras pays for his stay, then purchasing a new breastplate and selling the scalemail he was wearing, He finds Vigil and handing him 16 gp. 5 sp. he says "Give this to the Halfling that is helping us get stuff ok?"
Once the group is ready to go, they leave mid-morning to go to the castle they have acquired. Elathras takes point with Virgil and keeps a keen eye out.

"I should've been a merchant banker! After all the time I spent sorting out our monies out! But I'm finished cursing the books!
Wdrozgrúk is eager to return to the castles with the others. Also keeping his eyes open for problems along the way.

Wdrozgrúk |
You get to the castle around 11 in the morning without any encounters. Your two orcs challenge you at the gate.
(Posted in Discussion board)
Wdrozgrúk will respond to the guards' challenge:
"Yakha agh Durzub."
"Ashdautas Vrasubatlat."
"Angijak!"
"Yakha and Durzub."
"Someday I will kill you." (standard Orc greeting)
"Iron in the Blood!" (high praise among Orcs)
"Well done! We're back. With some more pay for you too, of course!"
Elathras Narcinal |
I don't know if the challenge is a good thing or a bad thing, don't the recognize us? Looking from Virgil then to Gruk, Elathras nervously fidgets with his Guisarme trying to see whats going on.
perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 23
brvheart |
Soon after the human guards come up somewhat nervously, "These two orcs showed up with our food and said they were in charge. That true?"
Wdrozgrúk |
"Flasuz pus" says Wdrozgrúk with a flourish
"Don't fret, Elathras; just some friendly Orcish banter."
He then addresses the human guards:
"Well … sort of. They almost died fighting for us. I trust them to fight for us, and to fight alongside you as well. As you see, they take their new guard duties very seriously."
"We're back with more provisions for all. So, why don't we all go inside for a nice chat and see how things are here now and how we can build up from her on."
Wdrozgrúk motions the others to follow him into the castle.
