You travel deeper into the swamp and follow the old path. Once in a while you see in the distance a patrol of drakes flying over the swamp. Another time you can notice a squad if Grioths. Both groups seem to be patrolling the edge of the swamp and if they noticed you, they don't seem to care. Finally, you come to fork and must make a decision. You can either continue down the path and head to the monastery where you are supposed to drop the ransom. Or, you could follow the river and reach the crypt of Tula.
Kyzen
"Ok, but what about Kyras's weapon? Didn't we already agreed to only scout while the weapon is being upgraded?"
Rannik
Leaving the road, you follow the bank of the river. In some spots, you see the beginning of ice forming where the current slowdown. A few more weeks and winter will cover this area with ice and snow. Eventually, you see in the distance a big white shape. At first, you think it is just a big stone, but as you get closer, you realise that it is a gigantic skull of a long dead dragon. The head itself must be somewhere around twenty feet long. As you come into the clearing and get a better view of the rest of the skeleton. You see two humanoid shapes dressed like a soldier. It looks like they are inspecting the skull.

"Yep two people are at that skull alright, maybe they are lost. If they are I reckon we should help em find the way home"
Hernvet says something under his breath and casts resistance on himself. Hernvet says.
"Can't hurt to be safe I suggest y'all be careful"
Hernvet walks up a few feet and waves his hand for the rest to follow. He walks up to the guards about 30 feet away and says.
"Hello gentleman are you lost?"
Kyzen
Kyzen follows and stands ready for action...
Rannik
You walk up to the soldiers and hail them. They turn toward you. For a second, you expect to see friendly faces, but what stand in front of you don't seem friendly at all. The two soldiers look at you with black sunken eyes. The face look gaunt and their jaw are partly open. A horrid noise can be heard as they draw their weapons.

Moving away from the skull, the two undead soldiers point their weapons in the group. You all feel two separate wave of magical energy pass over you. You clench your teeth and close your eyes as you try to resist the assault. When you open your eyes, you look around at your group and...

Kyras drinks his mutagen and advances.

While moving toward the enemy, Kyzen looks a bit confused as he cannot find is new friend anywhere... "Hey, where's Hernvet?" and... "Who's the Dwarf and where the hell does he comes from?"... Then he launch a blast at the North One, but the confusion makes him aim very poorly as he's not sure if the Dwarf is friend or foe...

Kakrish stares down the skeleton and roars as he starts to raise his greatsword. He pauses mid-roar when the kitsune next to him taps him on the shoulder. "Uh. Hello? Yeah, nice to meet you. Let me smash these skeletons and then we can talk more." Then Kakrish moves straight towards the guards.
Double move to get right next to the north one.

Lol, forgot to mention that both Kakrish and Hernvet are invisible. But this work too.
Both Kyzen and Hernvet attack misses the target while Kakrish close in on the undeads. Taking a step back, the two soldiers raise their lucerne hammer and aim for the dwarf in front. The first attack is defected by Kakrish's blade, but the blow rendered the warpriest off balance and the second found its way to a weak spot in the armor.

Grown stronger from his mutagen Kyras advances and attacks the enemy to the south.

Closing in on the undeads, the group start attacking. Hoga misses, but Kakrish, Kyras and Kyzen score some solid hits. Moving as one, the two soldiers attack on opposite side. Kyras reels from the blow but steps back and continues his attack on the enemy to the south. Note that when you attack like that through soft cover with a reach weapon I believe there is an attack penalty. The attack still hits Kyras but the penalty is why he is not doing it himself.

With the last series of blows, the second undead soldier collapse to the ground. The magic that was affecting your memory dissipate and all of your souvenir come back. Pocking around the corpse, you find some old, but still usable lucerne hammers and sets of field plate armors. Looking around the massive dragon skeleton, you notice that it is lying on top of an earthen mound. On the side of the mound is a stone door with a single, rough keyhole.
Kyzen
Nothing interesting for Kyzen in the loot...
"I guess those aren't the last undead we're going to see in there... So, do we go in?"
