They're not in melee as you fire (with all that preparation and held actions you guys had and everything), but since you didn't actually surprise them, the baboon does prove too agile to hit.
Edit: actually, scratch that - I forgot to factor in the baboon's -2 to AC for charging, which means Keldar actually hits - just!
oh the shame the shame. feeling guilty some.

Using the flat of his blade, Rashid will take a swing at one of the two conscious baboons that is not being peppered with elemental rays...
1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (18) + 2 - 4 = 16
1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 (subdual)
roll to confirm...
1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (18) + 2 - 4 = 16
1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7 (subdual)
EDIT: for a total of 13 subdual damage. I did not include the bonus for the whetstone, as it did not make sense; otherwise, there is an extra +2 damage ;-)
There is a resounding crack as his weapon connects with the side of the baboon's head.

Have had trouble getting on the boards. Couldn't edit the last post with actions. So here goes.
Seeing the baboons rush the door Bahram unleashes a blast of lightning at the lead animal surprise round. Steping behind Saul and his braced spear he blasts it again round 1.

Seeing the baboons rush the door Bahram unleashes a blast of lightning at the lead animal surprise round...
No surprise round: they were waiting for you, and you prepared for them - you guys just got to go first 'cos they're monkeys and not really calm enough to be readying actions...
*cough* an Initiative roll would probably help :-/
Nah - since you all took Ready actions, your Initiatives all bump to 'just before the baboons' - so no rolls needed, you just get to go first! It's good to be the smartest primates in the room... (not often said of gamers, true...) ;)
As the three baboons charge, Keldar and Bahram chant primal and mystical words (respectively) and unleash a gout of flame and a crackling arc of lightning! Somewhat put off by the screaming of the baboons flying through the air baring canine teeth bigger than a lion's (it's true - the large baboon species have two inch plus canines, bigger than lions...) Bahram's blast goes a little wide, scorching a line down the opposite wall of the corridor, whilst Keldar's flames manage to catch one baboon on its' naked red ass, causing the thing's eyes to go wide as it screams even louder in pain and anger!
The unpleasant stench of singed monkey butt in his nostrels, Rashid swings a rather masterful stroke with the flat of his blade, catching the lead baboon across the side of its' head and dropping it, unconcious, to the skitter across the floor behind him as its' momentum carries it over the dwarf's head.
Somewhat less reluctant to hurt 'dumb animals' (after all, them baboons is good eatin'!) Saul skewers the next baboon on the tip of his braced spear... the big guys seems pleased (although it's hard to tell sometimes...).
The final baboon, bottom trailing a line of smoke from Keldar's blast of fire, lands screaming, grabbing, and biting on Rashid's shield, but fails to get past the veteran dwarf's guard.
Grabbing up his club, Keldar takes a swing at the last baboon, bashing it from Rashid's shield and out into the corridor again where it lays, unconcious, bleeding, and with a singed bottom...
Mixed up who got to swat the last one to prevent having to wait or having to endure ranged fire into melee... not that it isn't fun for the DM to watch that sort of thing you understand... ;) Anyway, end results: one baboon kebab on Saul's spear, one lightly cooked and bleeding, and four unconscious... You guys are real animal lovers!
Popping out from behind Bahram Zaina claps her tiny little genie hands,
'Oh Master!' she exclaims, 'the way you herded that one into your minion's attack was pure genius!'
Standing from his hiding place behind the desk Juluce brushes down his robes, casts an eye over the fallen baboons (no doubt assessing if they're worth selling...) then says,
'I best be off to talk to "Elder Brother". I imagine you've time to quickly have a look through the rest of this wing if you want... unless you find any more rooms like this, of course... just make sure you're ready for him when he comes...' Patting the chain of office in his pocket, he (unless anyone stops him) sets off, leaving the fate of the baboons to the escapees...
Yousef olan Ahmad
Keldar's flames manage to catch one baboon on its' naked red ass, causing the thing's eyes to go wide as it screams even louder in pain and anger!
Yousef chuckles as the monkey screams. The says to Juluce as he leaves. " See you later, Juluce. Good luck!"
He looks at the singed baboon and the one on Saul's spear. "I think we should cook those up and build strength for whatever that dude brings back to us. I think it will be tougher than the ones Saul took out."
Lavender Leaf
"How long are they out for Lavender?"
I'd say somewhere between few seconds to a minute... Lavender says with her hand still outstretched in zappy mode. They will be blinded and stunned for a few more seconds after that, but I suggest doing something about them now...
Lavender readies an action to blast one if they arise.

Rashid looks regretfully at the unconscious baboons, and then sighs.
"It is probably for the best, although I do feel a little guilty about slaughtering animals, even if they have developed a penchant for consuming sentient flesh."
He then turns to Keldar.
"Is there any point in keeping at least one of them alive?"
I would not want to deny a druid a potential animal companion.
Rashid then shrugs, and moves to leave the room.
"I think we should at least have a quick look through the rest of this level, before the Bugbear gets here."

'Ew!' exclaims Zaina in a little high-pitched chirp of disgust as Bahram kneels to slit the first baboon's throat,
'Ugh!'
'Oh!'
'No, not the little one!.. Never mind...'
Glancing up as he completes his grim task, Bahram sees the little genie floating with a rather upset expression on her face, as if she were about to burst into tears... but as he looks at her she turns away and mutters,
'No... you... you were right to do it, Master... I've heard those unconscious and defenseless animals can... um... turn vicious... I guess...'
It doesn't take too long to quickly look through the rest of the wing, although a more complete search would take much longer and - since further in is where the baboons seem to have lived - would involve sifting through a great deal of unpleasant... 'waste'...
Aside from baboon poop, gnawed bones, and the usual ripped apart bits and pieces of old funishings you've come to expect from the guildhall, it seems like the level was more offices and some private rooms. The attic level of the wing seems to be more storage like that of the east wing... but without the giant spiders (but a lot more monkey 'leavings'). There's nothing of obvious salvagable value you find with a quick search, although you do note that, just like the east wing, the west wing attic has roof access.
So... plans for your next ambush? And I retract my earlier statement about you guys being animal lovers... you heartless brutes! ;)

Standing up from the grim job, dagger dripping blood, Bahram glance up at his companions but hastily looks away unable to meet anyones eye. Hanging his head he gestures to the baboons with his bloody dagger, 'Umm. Someone should err... see to the meat. I have no skills in that regard.' he says hesitantly in a hoarse wisper. Survival anyone?
Glancing after Rashid and Yousef he mutters some arcane syllables and follows them down the wing. Detect Magic and scan the refuse heaps.

In a very sincere voice lavender tries to console the tiny genie...Sorry Zaina, It was not something I am proud of, let me assure you, and I believe that Mr. Bahram feels the same way. Sorry Zaina, It was not something I am proud of, let me assure you, and I believe that Mr. Bahram feels the same way. But they would have awakened and continued their assault...
'I bow to your wisdom in the ways of such things, highness,' Zaina says whilst, indeed, bowing, 'if you're sure they would have kept up their doomed and frankly rather pitiful assault, I'm sure you must be right...'
... We can't let something happen to your master, now can we? For instance, what would happen to you?
'I...' stammers Zaina, seemingly caught off guard by the very suggestion, '... I'd never even thought of that... If he dies, now the pact has been sealed... Hmmm...' She goes quiet with a thoughtful expression on her tiny veiled face...
Look what you did - you put ideas in her tiny little head! ;)

Yousef (with or without any help from anyone else) manages to hide the bodies (it's pretty easy to just drag them out of sight, although anything more elaborate will take time), leaving just a large patch blood-stained marble inside the doors. Although there are no unbroken chairs, there's plenty of debris large enough to make pretty good cover which Yousef drags into place (is he making a barracade, or trying to make some dotted cover look 'natural' - whatever 'natural' is to an abandoned building like this one).
By this time Keldar has some lovely baboon-steaks cut out and ready to cook (are you going to start a fire?) and the search of the rest of the wing has successfully returned having found nothing of real interest (unless, of course, baboon poop is of interest to you... and if it is then... What's wrong with you, you freak?! :) )
Any further activities or preparations? When you're ready to get to the ambush, then post how your character is setting up.
Bahram Zarishu
Bahram remains quiet and un-responsive during the search of the west-wing, only nodding to Yousef as he tries to comfort him and humming it away before turning to the search.
As Yousef start on the baricade/cover Bahram asks Saul to join them. Lifting things seems more his forté so Bahram will content himself with directing him.
Not feeling comfortable under Zaina's gaze Bahram finds work for her as well. "We could use a scout if someone has a good pair of eyes on them. Zaina? Maybee you would guard the approch outside the building and come directly to us and warn us when you see him? Be carefull not to be seen and don't get distracted." though it is put forth as a request it is clearly an order.
As the baricades are set Bahram will postition himself of to one side of the door within 30' but behind cover and ask Zaina to 'please be quiet' as the bugbear approches.

I don't suppose anyone could use a Prestidigitation to clean-up the blood stains?
On it!
Lavender prestidigitates the blood away and resoils the floor to match how the rest of the place looks. Then she looks for a good place to place herself for the ambush, somewhere within 20-30 ft of the entrace that provides cover, preferable total cover, like a pillar if they are close enough.
Ok everyone, my plan is to grease the bugbear's weapon when he gets here. That leaves me one more grease if he pulls another weapon or another color spray if things get desperate... Thoughts?

'Outside?' Zaina seems to perk up at the suggestion (her sorrows seemingly forgotten in an instant), 'I've never been outside on this plane of existence before! Oh, thankyou Master!' she bows, palms together, the grin under her veil once more firmly in place. Flitting towards one of the window-slits set high in the walls she can be heard murmuring to herself, 'Ooh... maybe I'll see one of those "dust clouds" I've heard about: earth and air, what fun!'
Soon enough the cover has been set up, roughly in a horseshoe around the entrance, but left 'casual' enough that it doesn't necessarily look like a deliberate barricade at first glance. All the marble pillars (expect the one in the far corner of the east wing which still has an animate statue merged with it) have been smashed, but enough of the bases remain that they can also be easily used for cover (as long as you kneel or crouch down). With the floor cleaned of blood then 're-dusted' the scene seems as ready as it'll ever be.
It's a while later when Zaina zips back inside and flys over to Bahram, bows, then reports,
'Master, was your expected guest a sort of really big goblin made out of muscle wearing animal skins and carrying a club so large I can only describe it as "ridiculously big"... and spikey... a "ridiculously big and spikey" club... yes, that sounds right... well, was he? If not, then I've nothing to report...'
Places please, quiet on set... and... action! (I.e. where are you all lurking?)
