Yup, path is fine to talk on, trees and ice are difficult.
Rounding the forest path the situation becomes more clear.
An attractive woman, apparently made of wood is being menaced by a trio of small yapping creatures that must be kobolds.
Red and blue are wearing armor and have rapiers out. The smallest, and loudest of the batch (yellow) leans on a gnarled wooden staff carved into the motif of a dragon.
As you approach they turn their ire, and obnoxious yapping towards you.
The wooden woman looks to you in confusion, not sure of your full intentions.

Buddy, are you still having trouble with the map, and is there anything I can do to help?
Buddy makes quick work of the closer Kobold.
Hamith, remember the ice is all difficult terrain, even with 40feet of movement after haste I think you're within getting there with a double move, but not a single move. I also could be misremembering your starting space, let me know. If you are in range it's enough to drop him and combat is over, ignore this next bit.
The kobold then viciously smashes his staff towards Hamith's feet, however when the paladin looks down he's met with a face-full of snow, leaving him flat footed.
As lightning begins to arc from the kobold's arms, a trio of magic missiles hit him, but somehow his spell goes off anyway.

"Oh no!" says Belinda in Sylven.
"We were following a lead about a white dragon who fought a dwarven paladin many years ago... could it be the same one?"

Ah no, sorry about that. For some reason I was just thinking the ice increased acrobatics checks. So it would've been a double move to get to yellow.

| Pirate GM |
Enzial responds "The powerful wyrm Grathatonhakis terrorized this region for centuries before dying unexpectedly nearly a millennium ago. The white dragons were too fearful to return in force until the last century. For current events I'd suggest speaking to Vallahk and Quiselle, the stewards of this region."
She warns you however "Those two are difficult to convince of anything, but could provide considerable assistance."

Enzial nods and leads you into a nearby cluster of birch trees so dense that it seems not even a sparrow could fly between them. As she approaches, the trees seem to leap aside, clearing a short path.
Traveling this path causes the scenery to blur, as though each step were carrying you several miles at a time. After walking what feels like a few dozen feet, you arrive in a clearing surrounded by a living palisade of birch trees.
At the center stands a lopsided oak tree with green leaves, and two regal fey sit atop the roots while holding court before several dozen other First World beings like dryads, pixies, satyrs, and awakened animals.
From just the few moments of conversation you hear before they stop to acknowledge you it's clear they are discussing the Dragon problem.
They seem to be considering all-out war, however, they’re concerned about the safety of those under their protection. They’re also concerned that if they lose and upset the dragons, no one will remain to protect the forest.
---
They don't seem disturbed by your presence, rather they welcome you graciously into the circle. "Come join us outsiders, I am Quiselle, Queen of this forest, and this is Vallahk, it's King. Now honored guests, tell us of yourselves, I'm sure you're here about the Dragon problem as well."
Vallahk nods firecly, seemingly a bit less patient than the Queen, but still eager to hear your words.
This encounter involves a lot of back and forth as you learn about their personalities and such via conversation before having to make some skill checks that's a little awkward in pbp. We're going to spend a day or so conversing and then I'll ask for a round of checks, then likely another day before the second round of checks.
also, please roll a sense motive.

| Pirate GM |
Vallahk responds quickly "Yes yes, the Dragon is a threat to all of us, but is it our place to stop the kobolds, perhaps we should let nature take its course."
Quiselle looks to Vallahk and speaks softly "Just as the oak's branches twist and bend, direct confrontation may not be the plan. There are options in between all out war and doing nothing."
Vallahk points to Little Lya "You, speak of what you think should happen."
Everybody should feel free to talk though, time is all strange in fey land anyway.

Speaking in Sylvan
"Lord Vallahk," says Belinda, doing her best to look the fey in his eye. "My people have being fighting larger folk for as long as we have known them. And not through choice. Sometimes you have to stand up to a bully in order to make him back down. "
She directs a sly eye at him. "The thing is, when you are smaller that others, you have to use guile. Plan. Be the hunter, not the prey. You need to know the lay of the land and use it to your advantage."
She gazes around the court.

Lya bows respectfully to the royal Fey. in Sylvan "My name is Lya, servant of Shelyn. Your dilemna is difficult. I believe there is always a peaceful resolution, though discovering it is not always successful."
Lya pauses a moment with eyes close.. before continuing "Direct confrontation will destroy much of that which is beautiful in your realm. I would advise focus on alternate options. We have seen only a few kobolds and they were unwilling to listen... perhaps the dragons might be willing to parlay. Their young are the ones being hunted. If not to move to a safer location... then perhaps to make an alliance against the kobolds.
Shelyn does not advocate for violence... but as a last resort to save the greater community... it is permissible though not my personal preference."

Belinda, you see several dozen other First World beings like dryads, pixies, satyrs, and awakened animals taking part in the court, nothing overtly threatening or out of place however.
Vallahk responds to Belinds "You should know that size is no measure of mettle, just as a wildfire may spread unpredictably and fiercly, so my may vengeance and violence if called upon."
---
Quiselle responds to Myrd with a sigh "There are ways to twist and bend the forest away from the little yappers, to slow their hunt, there is always the long term dragon problem however."
She seems somewhat melancholy about the whole situation though.
---
Vallahk looks down at Little Lya from atop his oaken throne and snarls a bit "You have misjudged the situation, the little kobolds hunt the beasts of the woods and bring back the meat for the wyrmlings. I assure you if kobolds were seperable from their Draconic masters somebody would have done so long ago."
---
In response to Hamith Vallahk responds "It is good to see strength among you, still is it proper to risk your life and interfere to save the yellow necked swallow that is too weak to defend itself from the kobolds?"
---
The Queen looks to Buddy
"You still haven't spoken yet, please our court hears from all guests, you would not be here if you weren't meant to speak."
Everybody a chance to try and influence either Vallahk or Quiselle with a skill check, (After this, they'll be some more discussion and then another round of checks) you get the feeling that to get the fey to help you'll need to convince them both. Also that they feel opposite regarding aggression and that going too far towards either in your arguments may create more difficulty with the other. In addition to the listed skills relevant professions are always acceptable, other skills only if you have a "particularly creative approach," particularly if you are willing to expend some resource.
Additionally you may each aid another once during this encounter, after which one of the leaders will chide you to stop interrupting the others.

I just figure if you share a similar view then we should work together rather than separate. Cause things are easier when working with friends."
