I've got all the character behavior and backstory information all fixed up here. I can start mechanical business after work tomorrow. But I will need an answer to my last question regarding crafting feats first.

Edit: I would also like to fill in more information on her family, if requested.

That's a good point, since I was thinking about Scribe Tattoo at level three.

Argh, and now I am wrought with indecision! Either I'm going an advanced Kasatha Bolt Ace Gunslinger for bolts everywhere, an Advanced Kasatha Brawler for some Pummeling Style and Snake Style switcheroo shenanigans, or maybe even an Advanced Goblin Harbinger to wreck pain and songs upon my enemies!

I just don't know D;

Got all his crunch done, though I still have a lot of gold to spend. Not sure what all he needs, so I might just save it for in-game purchases.

Anywho, here is the updated sheet: Skjor, Viking Lord of Rock.

Fluffy Bits:
My name is Skjor. I hale from a small town in Scandinavia, and I have been blessed by the old ways. The power of my music is great, able to affect my audience like no other performer I have ever met. Battle is my inspiration: The clash of steel on steel, the echoing rapport of gunfire, the screams of the living and dying, all come together in my songs. I am no trifling minstrel, working for his next meal, but a composer of epics, building the courage and rage of armies into my sounds. I am Skjor, the Viking Lord of Rock.

My mother was a peasant woman, though she unknowingly carried the blood of gods in her veins. My father was the local town sheriff, who occasionally 'visited' my mother during the nights when he though nobody would know. He didn't live long past my maturity. My first taste of true battle was during my formative years, when a large band of raiders thought my town would be a good place for them to set up base. Our militia were able to drive them back before reinforcements from a larger town came behind them and slaughtered them all. It was as I watched this that I realized what I would do with my life. I was to capture this, the blood and steel of battle, into something that would strike the soul of all who listened.

As I grew older, so did my abilities with my music, until those who listened were able to perform greater feats of strength. It wasn't until another skirmish with a smaller band of raiders that I realized the true impact of my music. I was older then, able to take part in the battle, though not on the front lines, when a strange feeling overcame me. It was like something took control of my body. The next thing I knew, I was holding my guitar in my hands and strumming out a harsh, rhythmic tune. The warriors around me took on new life, and fought with greater savagery that ever before. We won the day.

Now, now I am a musician of high caliber, much sought after to boost the potential of any army. I have come to the city of New York to negotiate a contract with the Department of Defense to compose songs to help their armies to gain the strength my town's militia showed. My mother will live in luxury for the rest of her days.

Huh, here I thought I was cool because I thought to add at least one level of gunslinger for dex to damage. A template might actually be worth more.

Edit: I might as well post the short of my backstory here since all the cool kids are doing it.

After moving to America:
In at least a minor silver lining, her paperwork is “legal” enough to not arouse suspicion of her point of origin, since as far as any American is concerned, every Russian is from Moscow, what’s one more? Devic has a small, one bedroom apartment in the bronx, which was dangerous until nearby thugs learned exactly what a russian arms smuggler does to keep her possessions safe. Torture, and murder are off the table for her, not much else. This came with the side benefit of making friends with the local Kobold warren. Her set-up job is still in dealing with technology, too. Now more vehicles and the part time job at a gun repair shop than anything else.

Her english skills were never exactly impressive to begin with, which is a slight hassle for her, trying to purse the colloquialisms of the average New Yorker while also having to stop when she speaks and translate in her head before she does it. However, she has taken the opportunity to finally indulge in Western media in full. She got little bits and pieces while travelling around in Russia and always looked for more. She developed a habit of combing through any kind of show, movie, etc… she could get her hands on always wanting the original work, even if she had to go through it a few times to comprehend. She even credits these works with helping her understand what little english she does, and tries to interject a bit of humor into a conversation, with limited success, or great success, depending on how badly it goes.

Most importantly, she has converted roughly ⅖ of her apartment into a workshop, about as much as she can manage to anyway, connections only go so far after all… sometimes further than you know.

More on my page if anyones interested, I got carried away.

Anyone know if there's a trait to get Int to sense motive?

Allright, to answer feat question, I'm adding the skills Craft (tech), Craft (advanced weaponry), the Feat Inventor, which sort of mimics scribe scroll and all ensuing feats.

No such thing as getting carried away in character development.

Should be able to wrap up and make choices soon. Hurryup, Eddinoiz, I love all the character ideas, good luck in picking one :)

Also, Azten, your alias appears to be a string of links, any chance you may fill out the stats and background information there, please?

Best thing I've heard all week.

Those are all the Dodge bonuses I could find. I got bored one day. All of Ramiel's stuff so far is in his profile though.

Is the starting gold for this 150? I saw that earlier in the thread and want to be sure.

2,000

I'm in the meantime, trying to effectively learn how to smack-talk like spiderman.

He makes joking about crimes look easy.

When it's your defense mechanism, you need to be good at it.

I think I'm going to withdraw from this one. My schedule is filling up, and I'm not sure I'll have enough time to properly play without holding up everyone else.

Have fun, you guys. Don't drive the GM to madness now. :)

Ok, I've decided: Going for a Bleak Emissary Harbinger Advanced Goblin. Something about being small, mean, and green, even though I'll have CG as alignement, just makes too much fun sense :D

So everybody's been adding the advanced template? Will do that when I get home, don't want to be left behind.

And no, I would not 'ping'. A metalhead would never be caught doing something as wussy as 'ping'. Instead you'd have your eardrums blown out by an epic riff.

Advanced template? Sorry if I sound like a nub, but isn't that a template for monsters, how do you get it on a character

idk, Ammon don't need no templates...he can paste people as is

The character creation said you could be a CR 2 monster, so I guess people are thinking Lv1 + Advanced template?

i guess that whats going on, I'm content with levels myself

Oh, that is actually pretty awesome.

So if you play a monster do you have to use there stats or do you get to rebuild?

Character sheet is done, I think. Profile is also updated. :)

Well, I'm using a monster race that can also be played as a PC.

Also, how woould the Viking god of Metal feel about a back-up vocalist?

So would CR 2 be anyone who's level 1 with a template?

if the templates a plus 1 cr then pretty much

Would they still be level two then?

Like if I am a CR 1 monster with advanced
Would i still start at level two class level and end the creation at class level 2 with the advance template?

if your a cr 1 monster with a template that would amount to level two.

or a normal pc race with two levels

or a cr 1 monster with a class level

you get the point by now. each of those amounts to cr 2

Thanks man!

no problem, here to help if can

Hate to see you go. Also, too late on that last front. Been driven to madness a few campaigns ago.

Being driven to madness happens to all GM's at some point, had a character(Another player) who tried using bluff to convince some npc's his pet dragon was a cat. made me rage quit GMing that campaign.

Hah! Wow, sounds almost as bad as me at some points.
Ever here of the list of things Mr. Welch is not allowed to do in RPGs? One of my GMs didn't, so I used it to drive her crazy. My favorite point was where I crit a deception check and managed to convince a guard that I was him.

that guards intelligence better have been in the negatives

Titus has the giant kin template not advanced. Advanced template is usually not an allowed option in most games because it's too good. If allowed the party will normally all have it and all be level 1.

Yeah I was looking at it and was like,
+4 to every stat and you get nat armor bonus, that's crazy powerful

Was just wondering because a lot of people were saying they were an Advanced something or other and was wondering what they meant. So if we give our character a +1 CR template we start at lvl 1?

Edinoiz, have you finished writing up your character? Listing all candidates and making pros and cons list (super-cool, right?).
On same note, Lilitu, I like the character build, but would appreciate seeing a background, too, just for clarity :)

Not quite sure about that one, Deko, as it seems people can pick CR 2 monster races and then add 2 class levels.

Grand Lodge

Thats what didn't seem right to me, out statting a level 2 by at least 8 levels-maybe more- at level 2

unless your a kobold using advanced template seems a bit cheesy

Well, I'm a goblin so it's almost the same?

Anyway, since this world is pretty much the same as ours only more fantastical I imagine that zones of conflict could be truly horrifying. So what happens when the forces of good decide to intervene? Massive holy magic, that's what!

I am instead taking the Half-Celestial template, because goblins being CE in general makes this funny.

Just imagine the trouble a goblin would have when his/her good alignment is outed to the goblin community, by the head shaman no less, as well as the situations he/she will face due to bias vs goblins from other races!

A goblin that can smite evil...I have no words

But my last question is, can one take a template and still start level 2

as then they would start CR 3 right?

Is, is that a good or a bad thing?

Jaster Kite, it sounds like you are bringing recruitment to an end. Is that true?

It's a funny thing that I thought would never happen...

agreed, it is kind of funny
