He summons an earth elemental which touches the face and the door opens. The door is stone, and slides into a recess in the ceiling.
Hmm, looking at the map more closely, that's not a door, it's a niche, ahh screw it it's a door
Arranged in various raised niches in the ornately-bricked walls are
several dozen mummified corpses, attired in clothing of bygone
eras, standing in lifelike poses as though engaged in conversation.
Four oval niches in the north wall are obvious places of honor,
as each holds but a single mummy bearing valuable-looking
treasures. The room itself is lit brilliantly by two spheres of bright
light floating near the center of the thirty-foot-high ceiling above.

The obvious treasures are often coupled with hidden defenses. Past experience would suggest some measure of caution. Lithaun looks hopefully at Duhwoo and Vuvu with 7 pairs of eyes.

As Avoreal moves into the room she notices that the globes of light illuminating the room are not just globes. The True Sight reveals them to be illusions masking these strange creatures. Each looks something like an emaciated child with clawed hands surrounded by a nimbus of near-blinding light.
I need initiative. Knowledge planes if you want to know what they are.

A shining child can radiate a 60-foot-radius aura of blinding light as a free action. Creatures within the affected area must succeed on a DC 25 Fortitude save or be permanently blinded. A creature that successfully saves cannot be affected again by the same shining child’s aura for 24 hours. The save is Constitution-based.
Burning Touch (Su)
A shining child corrupts the positive energy within a living creature into an unnatural burning light. For the next 5 rounds after a successful touch attack by a shining child, the target takes 2d6 points of fire damage. The burning light can be “extinguished” by casting darkness or deeper darkness on the target, or by entering an area of natural darkness (not counting the light from the burning target).
Searing Ray (Su)
A shining child’s primary attack is a ray of searing light. This attack has a range of 120 feet. The ray deals double damage to undead creatures.

when you search the mummified remains you find (after detect magic, spellcraft, etc)
+2 axiomatic short bow, a scroll of forcecage and a scroll of mage’s
sword (both CL 18), a lyre of building, and a violin of blasting
(functions as horn of blasting; the wielder must be adept at
stringed instruments and use requires both hands).
