Hello everybody!

As already discussed via PM we all have interest to play PFS together and share the GM responsibilities by rotating as GMs in a joint campaign.

* * *

Why initiate a GM rotation and not just offer/play games via the Flexseed recruitment page?

Some of us are noticing that they are missing the history that is built together with other characters over time in the typical PFS scenario hopping and and that they hope that such a campaign can provide a better joint RP experience and better character development.

Nonetheless, we are of course all part of the Flexseed Lodge and we can view this campaign under the Flexseed banner so that we can also play our games during Gamedays, Outposts etc. !

* * *

How would a GM rotation work?

A GM rotation in a PFS game with six players and one GM would ideally have seven participants so that in seven games each of us has played six times and GMed once.

These seven games would run sequentially over the course of about one year.

If for some reason a player would like to skip a game we still have a legal table so I believe seven players is a good start.

* * *

Which characters can we bring to the table?

It would be great if we could agree on an interesting level range and start with an existing PFS characters that stay the same over the course of six games or seven games that we play together.

So the first task would be that we agree on a level range and on the characters that we would like to play together!

* * *

Which scenarios would we play?

Ideally, based on the character level we have agreed on, the GM whose turn it is would propose a couple of games that he/she would like to GM. Hopefully, these are scenarios which the other players all would like to play.

Alternatively, we could compare the scenarios that we have not played yet and create a PFS scenario playlist of seven scenarios which would be new for all of us and start with those.

That can mean that the games are all from different seasons but as our characters are the same and have a shared history the GMs and the players/characters can create the red line in the campaign.

* * *

You can also dot in the gameplay so that you see this page in your campaign thread.

I see this as our campaign and although I organized this you all have much more GM and PbP experience than I do, so let us jointly build this and I am sure we will enjoy the ride together. ;-)

I hope this makes sense so please jump in with your thoughts and ideas!

Hello all! I am Loremaster GM, but since we will be working together for awhile, I will get a bit more personal than most game. My name is Dylan and I do not mind if you refer to me as either option! It is a pleasure to meet you!

First off, I do not think I have a ton of PBP GM experience. You actually met me during my first game ever. But I am glad to join up with this group and hope to learn from you all.

For level range, I generally stick to leveling a single character at a time so I only have one character (currently in a game) who will be level 3.1. Beyond that I would need to make a fresh one. I am good with either option but we will need to wait a little bit for Nigel to finish his current game.

For scenario options, I have not been in society play for very long so I have not played many and up for trying almost anything.

One note about my schedule is that I would prefer to not be the GM during the end of July, beginning of August time period.

Hi. I am GM Ietsuna, or Adam in the real world. I live in Australia so my waking hours are a little different to those of you in the US and Europe, but it has not been an issue in any game I have played thus far.

I have been playing Pathfinder for only a couple of years, and have GMed a little, getting my first GM star a couple of months ago.

As for character level I have 1 that is level 5.2 and would like to keep him out of this if possible. He is my first character and has played 2 of the Solstice Scars already so I would like him free to play the third in Gameday. I have 2 character at 3.0 (a living grimoire inquisitor and an unchained barbarian) and everything else is level 1 or 2.

I have scenarios played and scenarios GMed sheets that we can get into once we are deciding on scenarios.

I am looking forward to this undertaking. It sounds like an amazing idea.

Silver Crusade

Hey all! Some of you I have played with, and some of you I haven't. My name is Kyle, though I have gone by Gus since forever. I am also a pharmacist- and super creative at coming up with Alias names.

I played a ton of 3.5 in college, but took a long long hiatus from RP. Started playing pathfinder about 9 months ago, and managed to get my wife to play (at least a little). I DMed a lot in 3.5, but am actually running my first game in 10 years this weekend. I am just figuring out the PBP thing, so you guys will probably get stuck with one of my first 1-2 GM pbp GM sessions. Sorry in advance!

I have a 4.0 Paladin, whose personality is a little grating. Otherwise I would need to roll a new character or play a level 2 druid that is currently in a game (with letsuna!). Seems like everyone is in the "low tier" boat, which is good.

Looking forward to it!

Hey everyone! Like others have said, I've played with some of you, had you as GMs, or been your GM as the case may be.

I have a lot of characters that span pretty much every level below 12, but I'd prefer the 3-5 range as that tends to my favorite range in general. I am also totally fine playing one of my level 1-2s as I have a lot of GM credit and plenty of ideas being churned out for characters at a decent pace.

Hi guys, really great to hear your thoughts!

RxGus, I am very much looking forward to your GMing! ;-)

I only have characters in the range of 1 to 3 as I just started playing PFS spring this year.

Seems like except of zer0darkfire all of us can actually only play low level.

Loremaster, do you believe that you can level a character to Lvl 2 with GM credit so that we could start in the range of level 2-3?

Silver Crusade

I have a soon to be 2 Druid. Or I could roll up a new level 1 and just play out of tier. I have plenty of character concepts that are in a partial build state.

Maps ... Starship combat ... Party Loot Tracker

I have never GMed for PFS before. I have GMed for years and years in homebrew games and SFS but never PFS, so no GM credit to apply. I am sorry. If you find someone who might be better equipped for this, I understand trust me, there would be no hard feelings. I don't want to make the whole group play low characters because I only have them.

It is up to you all, but I prioritize fun for all and if people playing in low tier games would not be as enjoyable, I am in complete support of you finding a better fit.

Noooo! Level 1 is completely fine Loremaster! :-D

Looking forward to gaming with you!!!

Would you all like to start with Level 1 characters or do we want to start with Level 1-2?

Grand Archive

Male Human Teacher 2/Librarian 1

I think 1-2 is better. Level 1 is too risky in my opinion, at some level 2s will give you a bit more hp to work with.

Hey everyone, Dystopian here. My real name is John. Psyched to start gaming with everyone! I've played Pathfinder for a long time, but just started getting into Society play last year.

Most of my characters are around level 2, with one at 6 at the moment.

Heck, if we all created characters we could link them somehow, like a noble family from Taldor?

Grand Archive

Male Human Teacher 2/Librarian 1

I'm likely to play a mesmerist or leshy alchemist since both are low level if we want to discuss possible characters. If we really need a front liner/switch hitter, I can play my shield champion brawler or my blind medium/monk.

Silver Crusade

I have a half-orc occultist half built that fits the "striker" mold pretty well. I would be happy to bring him. I also have a ratfolk alchemist, and a Kitsune gunslinger on the workbench too.

Liberty's Edge

Ietsuna's PFS Played Register | GM Ietsuna's PFS GM'd Register

OK, in the level 1-2 range I have a few characters.

Khair Bitar, level 2 Lore Warden Fighter
Jennifer Undertree, level 1 Sanctified Rogue
Aoyagi, level 1 Swashbuckler
Belor Thunders When Sleeps, level 2 War Drummer Skald
Hadzi Ubuntu, Level 1 Witch Doctor Shaman
Domitian of Razmir, Level 2 Razmiran Priest Sorcerer
Kinshasa, Level 2 First Mother's Fang Cavalier

It is unbelievable how badly that thing has gone. I just want it over, I really do. Stop the pain now PLEASE.

Silver Crusade

Out of curiosity, who is the last player/GM we are expecting in this group?

Maps ... Starship combat ... Party Loot Tracker

Well, I will be playing a brand new character so I can make it anything. I know I don't want a magus, summoner, or ranger (I am currently playing them in other campaigns). I will give it some thought and let you know what I am thinking. When are you thinking of starting?

Hello everybody,

in terms of starting the game.

As soon as we have our characters and have agreed on the scenarios I assume we can start, right?

I do not know if you want to start with a classic first level game like confirmation or wounded wisp etc. or if you want skip those as we played/GMed them to boredom. ;-)

Liberty's Edge

Ietsuna's PFS Played Register | GM Ietsuna's PFS GM'd Register

I really am easy and will go with the consensus, but if we are going level 1s there is the option of the evergreen modules that award 3xp. Crypt of the everflame, murders mark, gallows of madness (any of the 3 parts), level 1 of emerald spire, god's mouth heresy. Just an option. It will take a little longer, but will get us all 1 level straight off the bat.

Plunder and Peril Slides, Map of the WHOLE shackles

Noral- I have actually never played wounded wisp or confirmation either. (my play sheet is pretty short actually) so those would be OK with me.

Letsuna- I like the idea of doing one of the modules first and then picking more interesting scenarios. I have played Crypt of the Everflame- but none of the others.

I guess my vote would be a module, especially if we found a couple that were new to most people. The length of the game doesn't matter, as we are anticipating playing for a full year anyways, and it seems like the fastest way to move away from the "a crit will kill you" of level #1

Maps ... Starship combat ... Party Loot Tracker

I like the idea of a modules as well. They really could help make a reason we adventure together and a build a story that way. Plus I have never played any of them.

Ok! So if we want to play the evergreens and the modules then we could start with a quick confirmation and wounded wisp and then jump into a module while the characters are still level 1.

I know that Zer0darkfire is the expert in Confirmations! ;-)

And I could offer Wounded Wisp or even Master of the Fallen Fortress.

I am quite sure that we could get Confirmation and Wounded Wisp done even before Gameday starts.

Maps ... Starship combat ... Party Loot Tracker

I never played either so I am on board with this plan!

I have the emerald spire and could run the first level of that at some point.

With everyone being familiar with Confirmation and WW, yeah I'm sure we could finish them real quick.

Grand Archive

Male Human Teacher 2/Librarian 1

I can run a table of confirmation for the people that haven't played it or are not bored of it.

I've never run wounded wisp and I've only played it once.

I've played emerald spire 1 enough times for my taste. That content is obnoxious.

Never played or GMd murders mark or gallows of madness.

Silver Crusade

Never played confirmation or wounded wisp. Would be fine playing either/or. I have done masters of the Galen fortress, which I thought was just OK

Played Crypt of Everflame, and could run that if people want (straight straight dungeon crawl. Depending on how you roll it could be very fast or very slow)

Maps ... Starship combat ... Party Loot Tracker

I have never played any of the discussed adventures so I will work with whatever works for you guys.

Also, for my character, I am thinking of giving the "shifter" class a try. I would be a melee damage dealer then.

Hi everyone, sorry to be slow to join the conversation and many thanks to Noral for inviting me to participate. I've played at some of your tables (I'm in Ietsuna's Confirmation table right now) or have run for some of you, and look forward to getting to know all of you.

I'm Abraham - I've been playing PFS for about 4 years now and GM-ing almost that long. Got started in PbP last fall and have been loving it. I really appreciate how much space it provides for role playing and for getting the story aspect of the scenarios, which I often feel is lacking when I play face to face.

It sounds like we are settling on starting with low level options. I have a few level 2 PCs who I could bring but I also have a few new level 1 PCs that I've been thinking about, so I'm also happy to start with a brand new 0 XP PC if that's what the group agrees on. For level 2 PCs, ones that are not already committed to other games are:

Xivio - Wizard/Rogue 2.1
Drukpa Marpo - Bloodrager 2
Ivan Ifrit - Gunslinger 2

For a new level 1 PC, I think I will make a Vanara melee Shaman.

A couple of ideas:

* What does everyone think about playing a series of modules, rather than only scenarios? This could be a fun way to get us up to higher levels a bit faster. If we start at level 1 and played/gm-ed 7 modules, we would all be level 8 by the end. My sense is that PCs start to really get interesting around level 5 or so (just in terms of having more options that they can do). Of course we could also do a mixture of scenarios and modules too, or just stick with scenarios.

* There's a great tool at PFS Tracker that I use to keep track of what I've already played or GM-ed. The nice thing about it is that if we all use it, it will be very easy to identify what scenarios or modules we can all play. I use this for the monthly face to face game day that I organize and it saves me so much time. To give you an idea how it works, you can see my profile here or you can search for me by my user ID which is "Abraham Z."

Edit: oops, wrote the above without refreshing the page and apparently there were a whole series of posts discussing the idea of modules that I hadn't seen. Oops!

For evergreen scenarios, I've played/GM-ed Confirmation and Wounded Wisp a number of times, but have never had a chance to play 7-10 The Consortium Connection (1-2), which is the Season 7 evergreen, so I would be interested in playing that. I can also do Confirmation and/or WW too if that's the consensus.

For evergreen modules, for level 1-2: I've never done Crypt of the Everflame or Heroes of Highdelve or Master of the Fallen Fortress.

I've played Gallows, Ire, Murder's Mark, Emerald Spire, Thornkeep, and Godsmouth Heresy, and GM-ed Gallows. I'm happy to GM any of these if people want to play them.

I've played part 1 of Dragon's Demand but not the other parts, so I would enjoy playing those if that interests people. The GM seemed to leave a lot out as well, so I would enjoy replaying part 1 so that I can actually get the story this time.

One other thought: I think it would be helpful if we (roughly) sketch out the plan of scenarios/mods that we intend to follow. That would help us all to know what to "reserve" and not play at some other table when an opportunity comes up.

Silver Crusade

Welcome Abraham!

I just created an account on PFS Session Tracker (User: RxGus)

It seems there are lots of options available...

#1 Crypt of Everflame (RxGM) (1-2)
#2 Thornkeep #1 (1-2), Godmouth (1-2), Murder's mark (1-2) (Abraham)
#3 Wounded Wisp (noral)
#4 Confirmation (zer0dark)
#5 Master fallen Fortress (1 only) (Rx or noral)

I guess I would prioritize games based on the following:

The less people who have played it before (new is good!)
GM's able to still receive credit for the game
Module > Scenario
Tiering that could allow single character play throughs (but not require it).

I'll solidify my character now:
Level 1.0 Half-Orc occultist, striker build.

Thanks Abraham! Just entered my scenarios in pfstracker but I just started this year with PFS so there are not many games to report. ;-)

https://www.pfstracker.net/#/players/314670/report

The only thing that I would like in our games is to have some RP component in the story - so those modules that only revolve around fighting enemy after enemy are ok but not all the time. ;-)

Murder's mark sounds like more story-based but I do not know it well.

Although I know the Confirmation and Wounded Wisp already, I have to admit that they provide good opportunities to introduce ones character.

Soooo I gave the shifter class another read through, and while they sound like a really cool concept, the crunch of them is pretty bad. So I think I am going to change it up a bit, but not 100% to what yet. I am thinking maybe a Aldori swordlord (working towards the prestige class). But not sure yet. Looking for a fun melee build that will be fun to play outside of combat but still be useful in combat (but not take an over powered build as well).

Regardless, I will have my mind made up and character built tomorrow sometime.

It is always so hard for me to create a first level character! ;-)

Hey Loremaster, just wanted to make sure you've seen the FAQs that came out about the Shifter. Apparently there were a lot of people complaining about how the class crunched and so they tried to fix some of it. I haven't actually looked at it all myself yet but just fyi.

Also, there are some cool archetypes in the Aldori chapter of the Adventurer's Guide that seemed designed to segue into the Aldori prestige class. Also a bunch of fun looking feats for Aldori stuff. Anyway, just fyi in case you haven't seen it - I was just looking at that book recently so it was on my mind.

It looks like we need some kind of wizard/sorcerer. I've always wanted to play a blaster mage, so might look to do that! Will work something up tonight and post it up.
