After a few moments of examination Elemenar realizes that there is no magic involved. "I detect no magical auras animating these chains. It must be purely mechanical. Before we enter this room we should try to deal with this hazard."

"I can figure out puzzles but I typically avoid the traps altogether. We might not have time to ask with those chains flying around Zefiro...gotta be a way to stop or break them." Vexin adds in.

Mindartis tries to see if he can figure out the trigger for the trap. He looks at the central figure, the chains in the room, and then the nearest statues. Should I roll different perception checks for these?

The moving chains seem to completely baffle Ischell, and he hesitates instead of striding into the room.
"What the heck, dudes. This stuff is starting to creep me out"

Mindartis looks for the mechanism, he can't see one, but he can tell the statues are 'controlling' the chains and should have a mechanism for disabling or perhaps sundering the pulley mechanism. He's also certain that once these chains start lashing, everyone, including the prisoners, will likely be under attack. He can also tell that there is likely another effect about to take place as he can hear more pulleys and gears nearby.
He has profession trapper, he could work that out

Elemenar looks in frustration at the moving chains. "So none of us know how to turn these off?" Elemenar tries to reach the closest statue to see if there is a lever or some mechanism. He moves into just inside the room.

My status bar had me at 3 hp remaining but I think that was stale. I went back through the postings since shifty took over and I didn't see anywhere where I took damage. So I think my total is current 6 (14 - 8).
Elemenar reels back when the chains slap into him creating deep cuts in his skin. However, he knows that the only way to stop this is to find a turn off mechanism. At the statue he begins searching it.

"No, but I do have a blade!" Vexin says as his stomach drops seeing the traps lashing the prisoners. Not wanting to waste time stopping the mechanisms he steps up and attempts to smash the device.

"No!" Malora exclaims. Following Vexins lead she drops her crossbow, hurries forward and tries to smash the mechanism with her heavy mace.

Vexin and Maolora explode into action - Vexin manages to crack the teeth off a gear and ruin one of the mechanisms, meanwhile Malora fouls one with her mace.

"Nice job." Elemenar says as he sees the two broken chain mechanisms. He steps around one of the statues then lowers his staff to point at a third statue. A jet of flame shoots out of the staff towards the statue.
fire jet@1: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 Reflex save is an option but I doubt the statue will pass.

Ischell can't see a mechanism to open the door, no handle or lock evident - all he can hear is the carnage taking place on the other side and the loud grinding, banging, and ringing of steel and metal echoing through the prison as a result.
He was still outside the room when the door triggered at the end of R1

With Elemnar's target being the only one in reach helps disable the jamming mechanism.
"We need to work quick before the guards are upon us." he calls out during his attack.

Sorry, I'm confused by the attacks in the above post. It looks like Ischell and I got hit by chains, by Ischell's not in the room? Did something else attack him? Was that meant to be someone else's name?
Malora suffers a severe wound to the head from the lashing chains and falls to the ground unconscious, bleeding all over the prison floor.
Taking 16 damage puts me unconscious at -7 hp.

Correction, attacks should have been on Doran & Malora (Sector 2) and Mindartis (Sector 3)
Doran and Vexin smash and jam more mechanisms... the chains in their areas stop moving altogether.

Elemenar moves towards the last two statues. He positions himself so that he can reach both of the statues with a magical cone then he raises both hands to blast another cone of flame.
