GM Deussu |
Jaïr's touch on the ulfen guards neck seems to nearly paralyze him as he starts to shake and feel confused.
Drostan's mighty swing with his axe unfortunately goes wide and fails to connect to the dazed ulfen guard.
The red guard stands there, trying to clear his head. Once he does, he snarls and glares Yâble with anger in his eyes.
Despite having a clear shot at the red ulfen guard, Wrigsolar misses his target and merely hits the door behind the guard. The gnome does get a rather stern look from the ulfen, and it is possible the false guard might consider attacking Wrigsolar instead.
ROUND 2
Yâble

Green guard (dazed)

Sagart, Jaïr, Drostan
----
Red guard

Wrigsolar
Yâble |
Yâble , happy that his friend Jair is watching his rear, makes a face at the green Ulfen .
This is the time to accelerate the tempo !
The melody changes. Faster. One might even say that ... Yâble plays with more than one instrument.
Inspire courage. +1 attack, + 1 damage (works with ray)
Sagart Laoch |
Sagart steps forward and attacks red with her hammer. Her dehydration from the oppressive heat outside has sapped he strength and her blow simply glances off the guard's armor.
Melee WarHammer Atk vs. Red: 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 1 = 7
Damage?: 1d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 2 + 1 = 9
Wrigsolar |
Wrigsolar snatches a wand Of Mage Armor from his belt, hops over a few feet to try to get a better line towards the red Raider. He decides that the dwarf-wannabe probably could use some help, more than he could use the extra protection. He says a few words in Draconic, and shoots another ray at the Ulfen, this one a brilliant cascade of coruscating color.
Ray of Enfeeblement Touch attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Red Ulfen if hit, needs to make a DC 15 Fort Save. If he fails, he takes Strength Penalty: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 for 1 round, if he fails, he takes half the strength penalty.
GM Deussu |
The ulfen guard shakes his head, gathering his wits, and sees a group of pathfinders all advancing towards him. Born for battle, the warrior merely tightens his grip of his axe.
Regardless of the group's efforts and Yâble's encouraging song, Sagart is unable to connect his warhammer to the enemy.
ROUND 2

Drostan Brunspar |
Drostan continues to smack at the green guard.
Waraxe vs. green: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 4 + 1 = 25
Damage: 1d10 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 3 + 1 = 9
Confirm crit: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Add. Damage: 2d10 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (2, 9) + 6 + 2 = 19
Sagart Laoch |
Well swung, Drostan!
-Posted with Wayfinder
GM Deussu |
The guard barely gets to react when Drostan's mighty axe comes down high above, penetrating the ulfen's poor helmet, lodging deep into the sod's skull, ending his life immediately. Hardly passes as just a "smack".
Delaying Jaïr for now to keep the combat flowing.
The remaining guard widens his eyes as his companion falls, but instead of frightening or decreasing his morale, he too seems to get more fuel to his inner fire, and swings his axe against Sagart. "I'll avenge you!"
Melee, Battleaxe: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20 for Damage (slashing): 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
The blade scratches Sagart's skin slightly, leaving a small yet painful wound.
Wrigsolar's ray of numbing power goes wide and hits the door once again. How the door has offended Wrigley so much may remain a secret for years to come.
ROUND 3
Yâble
----
Green guard (-28, dead)
----
Sagart (-3), Jaïr (delay), Drostan
----
Red guard

Jair Whisper |
Well done Master Dwarf !
I'm on my phone, so not able to move my character
After thanking Drostan Jaïr calls again for her god's power Dazing Touch (2/7) and moves around the last ulfen at Sagart's left.
She then tries to touch the man.
touch attack: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (13) - 1 = 12 if it hits, the ulfen is daze for 1 round

GM Deussu |
Jaïr's touch again messes with the ulfen's head. The disgruntled guard tries to keep himself lucid amidst the battle.
Yâble stops playing the music and instead tries to further confuse the enemy with his dagger. The maneuvre is ineffective, however.
ROUND 3
Jaïr, Yâble
----
Green guard (-28, dead)
----
Sagart (-3), Drostan
----
Red guard (dazed)

Wrigsolar
Sagart Laoch |
With a silent prayer to Torag, Sagart brings her hammer down on the dazed Ulfen... Not to kill, but to repay the cut he gave her.
Melee WarHammer Atk vs. Red: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Damage?: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
She then calls to her companions to help disarm and secure the guard before he comes to his senses.
Drostan Brunspar |
Drostan approaches the remaining guard and swings his waraxe again.
Waraxe vs. red: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
Damage: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
And again...
Waraxe vs. red: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Damage: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Yâble |
Yâble trys with aid another.
(without the flank) aid another: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Sagart Laoch |
Man! The dice gods are ANGRY!
-Posted with Wayfinder
GM Deussu |
Oh boy...
Drostan tries and tries again, but the confused guard is able to get a hold of himself to deflect the blows. Even Yâble is unable to aid Drostan in his struggle.
ROUND 3/ROUND 4
Jaïr (R4), Yâble
----
Green guard (-28, dead)
----
Sagart (-3) (R4), Drostan
----
Red guard (dazed)
----
Wrigsolar (R3)
Waiting for Wrigsolar's, Jaïr's, and Sagart's action. Sorry Sagart for excluding you from the bold part. A mistake on my part.
Sagart Laoch |
Sagart tighten her grip on her hammer and with a hearty "Feck ye, ya dobber!" swings again at the surrounded Red Guard.
Melee WarHammer Atk vs. Red: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Damage?: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Wrigsolar |
"I ain't got much for disarming people besides my dazzling personality," Wrigsolar grumbles, If we knock him down, can one of you church-folk keep him from dying?
Wrigsolar sticks out his tongue and really tries to focus as he conjures up some acid and toss it at the dude.
Acid Splash Ranged Touch: 1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 - 4 = 11
If hit, damage: 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
GM Deussu |
Wrigsolar's acid ball misses just, and somehow again hits the door. The door has received a lot of damage.
It is Sagart who finally manages to hit the elusive bastard. The hit from a heavy warhammer doesn't seem to slow the guard down, only enraging him. Apparently these ulfen people don't give up even if outnumbered or overwhelmed.
ROUND 4
Jaïr, Yâble
----
Green guard (-28, dead)
----
Sagart (-3), Drostan
----
Red guard (-7)

Jair Whisper |
Sorry for the delay, I was on a business trip
Jaïr concentrate and try again to touch the man.
Concentration DC17: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16 Dazing Touch (3/7)
But she wasn't able to manage to keep her concentration, worried to be hit by the man.
She draw her short sword to give flank to her comrades.
Yâble |
Still trying. aid another attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

Sagart Laoch |
This time the cleric swings low, for the Ulfen's legs, trying to somehow gain the advantage...
Warhammer atk vs Red: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12

Jair Whisper |
Drostan, take a 5ft. step to flank with me !
Says Jaïr who will wait for the dwarf to flank with her.
(Ready Action) Aid another attack, DC10: 1d20 - 1 + 2 ⇒ (10) - 1 + 2 = 11
If Drostan flank with Jaïr, he will have another +2 to his next attack against the Ulfen guard.
GM Deussu |
COMBAT OVER!
And finally Drostan is able to slash his foe, who shrieks in pain as he falls to the floor, bleeding.
The green guard is guaranteed dead, but the red one seems to be breathing still.
Now that the team has a moment to look around the devastated lobby, it seems the two-story manor is in fact quite small. The lower floor holds only four rooms in addition to the lobby; a ransacked kitchen, a dirty dining room, a messy study, and a gallery devoid of treasures.
There are grandeur stairs leading up to the second floor, and a smaller set of stairs leading down to the basement.
Wrigsolar |
"Okay, since this is apparently more than a case of the sniffles, Wrigsolar says, rummaging around on his belt. He pulls out a slightly beat up wand, "Got this in the Land of Linnorm Kings. Wand o' curing wounds. Jair, you mind holding on to it for me and using it on me in case I get an arrow to the knee?
Don't need it now, just in case
Wrigsolar |
"I want to be clear that this is not a transfer of property, though, just that I'm giving you an easement to access my property in the event forewith," Wrig continued in his lawyer-speaker.
Sagart Laoch |
Sagart casts cure light wounds on her cut, watching it heal and disappear to a faint white scar.
CLW on self: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
She will then bind the hands and feet of the Ulfen that is being resurrected by Drostan and search him and the dead green guard for anything of informational or monetary value.

Wrigsolar |
"You might be right, Yâble," Wrigsolar says, But I still think that door is suspicious... and well-made. Drostan, you should take it off its hinges and use it as a tower shield."
Sagart Laoch |
the door we decimated with mishits and spells!
Sagart smiles broadly at Wrig's humor and continues her search, hoping to find some clue here before continuing the search of Greydog manor for Skelg.
"As the nuns in the convent use to say, "Two vipers rarely exist alone in the viper's pit." So keep your eyes pealed for more of these extremely dexterous Ulfen guards!"
GM Deussu |
Yâble takes the gold back, and Sagart also notices what else the ulfen men are carrying in total: two medium-sized chain shirts, two medium-sized battleaxes, two set of simple guard's clothes, and one keyring holding two keys.
Drostan successfully stops the other from bleeding, who is bound by Sagart afterwards. The guard remains unconscious.
Sagart Laoch |
Sagart will take trail and protect the rear of the formation, this time her crossbow at the ready. All along she attemps to aid Drostan with his search.

Wrigsolar |
"Not for nothing, Dros," Wrigsolar whispers, "But I think anyone up here would have heard us from you know, the spells and the axe-murdering. Just, y'know, sayin'"
Wrigsolar follows Dros up the stairs, mimicking the dwarf's gait
