Lin Kai |
Kai stares at the gigantic demon, clearly with great trepidation in his heart. But he recognizes the importance of speed. Who knows how long the party can survive the demon. So perhaps somewhat foolhardily, Kai races up the stairs after Aelwynd. He tries to ignore the aura emanating from the demon and only through some deep inner reservoir does he manage to do so. For now.
fort, heroism, inspiration : 1d20 + 6 + 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (10) + 6 + 2 + (5) = 23
Double move. Kai has longstrider that's 80 ft in total. Cad, you might have business after all. :)
GM Z..D.. |
The monstrous creature takes a swipe at Aelwynd with its claws as it passes over head.
AOO: 1d20 + 25 ⇒ (5) + 25 = 30
damage: 2d6 + 12 ⇒ (4, 6) + 12 = 22
The giant demon roars and another last of negative energy washes over the tower.

Fort vs DC 20: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (14) + 13 = 27
@GM Z..D.. I will need to know how much damage Ollystra took (as I cast Shield Other on her).
I will wait for all the save before updating party hit points.
Kor'sarro Khan |
fort: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (2) + 14 = 16
Lay on hands: 4d6 + 10 ⇒ (4, 5, 6, 2) + 10 = 27
Fort (gaze): 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (9) + 14 = 23
Growling in pain the paladin called upon the power of Ragathiel as he pushed himself towards the control panel, he eyed the large demon with a hint in his eyes that he wants to go one on one with the creature...
Cad, I think you have kor's health wrong
total: 76hp
Damage/healing breakdown
Mass inflict 35 (down to 41)
Heal for 29 (down to 70)
Rubble attack for 7 (down to 63)
Heal for 33 (full health)
Mass inflict for 28 (down to 48)
LoH for 27 (down to 75)
unless I missed something, I should be at 75 atm
Caduceus Via |
Here is the break down on Kor as I have it, tracked by round:
Round 1
No damage =76 hp
Round 2
Mass inflict -35
Channel (w/FF) +27
Net loss of 8 =68 hp
Round 3

No healing (I cast shield other on Ollystra and LoH on myself)
Net loss of 7 =61 hp
Round 4
Mass inflict -28
LoH (w/FF) +27
Net loss of 1 = 60
I do not see where you were healed for 33. I think you added the 33 from when I healed myself as a swift action (I also have Fey Foundling). Did I miss a post were you healed yourself?
@GM Z..D.. ~ Got it, thank you kindly

@GM Z..D.. ~ Got it, thank you kindly
Issue found, your LoH it threw me off with the fey foundling, thought it was a grp heal and I missed the LoH... nm me... should teach me to argue after I been up since 5am... Carry on!
Aelwynd Swiftblade |
Yellow is down, at least that's how I read it. I think he just hasn't been removed from the map yet.

Ghukar |
Ghukar reached into his pack and pulled out the orb that was founf earlier. Flipping it over, as he stepped up a bit, he quickly read the small note written in celestial.
Pull safety pin. Hold down and count to three. Do not release before Three or hold after counting to Three. Made by Antioch Hand Grenade company.
Ghucak pulled the pin, held down the button and "One, Two, Three. he counted before throwing it towards the demon.
Will Save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Faith Orb: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 209d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 5, 6, 4, 6, 2, 4, 2) = 34
Throw Faith Orb at the Shemhazian Demon. DC 17 reflex aiming to just get him.
Aelwynd Swiftblade |
As the giant demon swipes at Aelwynd, he deftly parries the blow and rolls his blade around to strike the offending claw as he continues to move to the controls.
From the unused parry/riposte roll I put in my spoiler:
Answering Parry: 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (12) + 24 = 36 spend 1 panache, and one AoO
Answering Riposte: 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (19) + 24 = 43
Magic Piercing Damage+precision: 1d6 + 16 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 16 + 8 = 30
Confirm: 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (16) + 24 = 40
Magic Piercing Damage: 1d6 + 16 ⇒ (1) + 16 = 17
will save for half+Charmed Life: 1d20 + 7 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 7 + 3 = 20
Aelwynd grunts in pain as the negative energy lances through him, but somehow he avoids the worst of it.
Feeling the terrible gaze of the giant demon is a continuous effect, Aelwynd decides enough is enough for him so he pulls down his smoked goggles to help him avoid further effects.
Fort save/paralysis: 1d20 + 6 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 6 + 8 = 34 considered as averting gaze and gets +8 circumstance bonus vs all attacks that a blind creature would be immune to. Didn't need it this round with a 20 but I am sure it will come in useful.
Kargen Hapspring |
Ghukar wins just for that reference!
Will save: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
Kargen grunts as the negative energy slams into him like a truck. He steps around the weapon and raises his bow, hoping to help drive the demon back enough for Aelwynd and Kai to operate the controls. He pulls the planar arrow from his quiver and sends it flying at the demon.
I believe Kargen is outside the 30 foot range
Attack (DA, heroism, DF, judgement, bane): 1d20 + 10 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 10 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 = 34
Cold Iron Damage (DA, DF, bane): 1d8 + 7 + 2 + 2 + 2d6 ⇒ (3) + 7 + 2 + 2 + (5, 1) = 20
The planar arrow should bypass 5 points of DR.
Aelwynd Swiftblade |
Great reference indeed Ghukar! Talk about a good idea too.
Lin Kai |
When the GM doesn't track the damage taken by the big bad... Anyway, if Kai takes too much damage he'll jump off the control panel. :)
will, heroism: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 5 + 2 = 14
Kai is unfortunately overwhelmed by the demonic magic and feels his soul being torn apart. Seeing that there's as yet insufficient people to operate the panel, Kai keeps his eyes close and fumbles his way further down the room to give more space for the others to get there. And if necessary to jump off.
Closimg his eyes to avoid the paralysis effect this round.
Cad, Kai's temp hp reduced the damage to 22.
Caduceus Via |
Caduceus once again feels the Inheritor's burden he has been graced to carry. The added responsibility of maintaining Ollytia's lifeforce makes its presence known as well. The paladin staggers toward the center of the room and releases another burst of healing energy. Unfortunately, his focus wavers as he channels, resulting in a weakened wave sent forth.
Selective Oracle Channel: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 4, 3) = 10
Beneficent Touch: 1d6 ⇒ 6 This replaces the "1" with a "6", making the channel heal 15 hit points (23 for Kor & myself).
Lay on Hands, No mercies (swift/self): 5d6 + 10 ⇒ (2, 3, 2, 3, 3) + 10 = 23
Aelwynd 66/66 (LL) {57/66 + 5LL + 15 = 66/66}
Ariana 83/103 {68/103 + 15 = 83}
Ghurkar 44/58 (LL) {24/58 + 5LL + 15 = 44/58}
Kargen 38/48 (LL) {18/48 + 5LL + 15 = 38/48}
Kor'sarro 76/76 {60/76 + 23 = 76/76}
Lin Kai 49/51 (LL) {29/51 + 5LL + 15 = 49/51}
Caduceus 72/72 {24/72 + 23 + 23 = 70/72}
Remaining Healing
LoH 9/12
Oracle Channel 5/7
Paladin Channel 10/10
Ariana-Fighter |
Ariana drops her bow, and moves quickly toward the demon pulling out her Bastard sword as she moves. She keeps her eyes on the floor she moves so perhaps the gaze won't affect her too much.
Caduceus Via |
@GM Z..D.. ~ So, Ollystra took 15 hp damage in Round 3 (splits 8 to her/ 7 to me) and she took 14 more in Round 4 (7 to her/ 7 to me). With the 15 hp she just healed back from the channel, she is back where she started in Round 3. I doubt she's topped off, I just don't know where she started or if she has healed herself at all. The troops/soldiers with her also healed 15 points.
GM Z..D.. |
Yay for the party making the GM do unforseen math and going off script. Just kidding, when I played, we did the same thing. Tallying it all up, net Ollysta has taken only 12 damage, and the crusaders have are back to full, thanks to Cads great healing abilities. The demon, using other gaming terms, is looking bloody, on the bad side of 50%. Going to have to modify the script a little bit.
Aelwynd was that counting the penalty from the size difference. I think you might have ended the scenario either way. Taking in the size difference which is minus 6, but plus 1 from higher ground. Your 31 beat his 30.
Aelwynd manages to parry the pincer, and deliver a wicked blow to its arm, slicing vital arteries.
The beast retaliates once more, felling one of the crusaders and injuring the other.
Ollysta and her remaining crusader combine efforts and strike at beast causing it to take a step back. Ghukar chucks the grenade and a blast of holy flames erupts under foot. It looks around at all of the PC's and decides to retreat, it concentrates and teleports out of sight.
With no threat remaining, the PCsa are able to activate the weapon, while Ollysta and Cad tend to the unconscious crusader.
the PCs fire the weapon, bluewhite energy explodes from the devices at the top of the tower and crashes over everything in a one-mile radius. The demonic forces outside of the tower retreat as the wave of holy energy washes over them, vaporizing the weaker ones in place.
In the tower, Ollysta takes off her helm and takes a knee, calling for the pathfinders to circle around. “Since the attack on the Starrise Spire several months ago, the Pathfinder Society has been working tirelessly to assist the people of Nerosyan. While performing rescue missions, diplomatic assignments, and stealth operations, you Pathfinders have shouldered great responsibilities and realized even greater goals. I applaud all of you for your tireless pursuit in fighting for what is right. In this time of need, it is good to see a team such as yourselves work together to complete what was thought impossible. For this, Mendev—truly all of Avistan—shall remember you.”
Congratulations on finishing the scenario. Chronicles will be posted on the Discussion Thread. Should be posted and the scenario reported shortly. Thanks for playing along.
Ariana-Fighter |
Ariana sighs as she sees the demon running away. "Good job all. Time for some rest. Aelwynd is that trip on the sea still available?" she asks with a grin.
Aelwynd Swiftblade |
"Absolutely! Though now the invitation is for EVERYONE!" he says with arms wide!
"Well done friends! Well done! Now, let's get out of here, quickly, before they find some other work for us to do. The high seas await!" and with a wry grin and a mischievous wink, he leaps over the control panel and lands gracefully on the ground.
Acrobatics+1 luck: 1d20 + 20 + 1d6 ⇒ (11) + 20 + (5) = 36
From there, he takes a deep bow to his group before spinning in a blur and dashing to the exit, as dashing adventurers tend to do when fantastic stories come to a close.

Lin Kai |
Kai had his eyes tightly closed when the demon fled and thus kissed what might have been a spectacle of his life. Only when the cheers from the party reaches his ears does he open them. He stares for a while at the aftermath of the battle before cracking a smole, just happy to be still alive. He nods at Cad in thanks for helping with that.
With the distraction gone, Kai pits his kind to good use, working with the party to activate the weapon and is uplifted that he had contributed in some small way in ridding some of the evil from Golarion.
Turning to Aelwynd, Kai replies with a warm smile. "I might just take you up on that offer." But as Aelwynd leaps off the platform, Kai looks bemused and adds, "But for now, I'll just take the stairs."
