The persistent glow of the bluish fungi dimly lights the way deeper below the Kortos Mounts. The tunnels broaden to reveal a shallow river that bisects an immense tunnel stretching to the north and south. To the east a small passage exits the chamber at a steep incline.

On the far side of the river, two halfling-sized reptilian figures yap angrily at your intrusion.

As Valyssa reaches the water's edge, she hears an ominous click and is hit by a dart.

The dart must have been poisoned, as Valyssa feels her vitality being sapped.

Konner's arrow strikes the red-scaled creature, who now seems heavily injured.

Both of them whirl their slings above their heads and fire their bullets at Valyssa.

They hit nothing, and the exertion causes the wounded one to faint.

I haven't heard anything from Delarion, so I'll bot him.

Delarion follows the rest of you into the cave.

Konner's second arrow goes wide, hitting the cave wall behind the kobold.

Valyssa clams down and regains her composure. "If this one was protecting a nest somewhere there may be more around as protection as well... thus be careful." she tells the others. "Let us record what we came for and then move on."

As you travel up the tunnel to the east, you begin to hear the faint sounds of combat and a familiar woman’s voice half-shouting and half-reciting,

"As the legendary Gregaro Voth successfully battled the wild beasts in the deepest reaches of the MwangiExpanse, so shall I defeat you, foul servant of Lamashtu!"

The route to the surface leads through a maze of tight passages that include steep ascents and short climbs as they wind from west to east.

Any square that's 50% or more obstructed will cause you to squeeze (-4 on attack rolls and AC)
