how do I switch for the exchange faction? I never switched factions before.

My Inquisitor also took a thrashing at that same battle. First PFS death.

Zac - did you read the new Guide to Pathfinder Society Organized Play, which came out in August? The changes of faction are detailed there, on pages 13-18.

Basically, Qadira and Sczarni merged to form the Exchange, a faction based on money-making interests. If you wish to join that faction, you needn't do anything except write "The Exchange" instead of "Sczarni" on your character sheet. The new symbols aren't available yet, so you could just keep the Sczarni key in the meantime. Note that this change is automatic and doesn't count as a faction change.

Moreover, every character is entitled to a single faction change during season 6. You don't need to use it if you don't want to, but it allows your character to join one of the new factions that he fancies.

Let me know what you decide by November 1st, please. That gives you a bit of time to think things over.

@Shel/Rhydderch: One of my characters is currently in the last fight of that scenario, and I've just started GMing it as well. It was certainly an ordeal, and I've never been happier about

Don't open if you haven't played The Silver Mount Collection yet:
my character's adamantine longsword! It helped tremendously, along with our archer's adamantine-blanched arrows.

Zac, things don't work like that. Firstly, there aren't any mummies in The Confirmation, The Disappeared, Mists of Mwangi and Skull & Shackles part 1, so I don't see how Zac can have encountered one based on these scenarios.

Secondly, the knowledge rolls are exactly supposed to represent what your character knows about the creature you're fighting. Acting upon knowledge that doesn't come from that is considered metagaming, and is forbidden. Don't do that.

Thirdly, closing your eyes won't help you in any way.

I've always read this as I know the Intelligence score and the "Surface thoughts" of the victim as per Detect thoughts.

I know its a pretty vague ability so I expect table variation. Some GM's say I have to spend 3 rounds sorting through the knowledge to get the thoughts. Others say I get them automatically. Others say the reference to Detect Thoughts is more to do with effects that limit the ability (i.e Ring of Mind Shielding). My only argument with this is that if that was the intention it would say "This Ability functions as Detect thoughts" not "Treat the knowledge gained as if you used detect thoughts".

Like I said I'm cool with however the GM rules it, just wanted to put forth my case.
