Fareth returns the zombie's attack, cutting down the foul creature with one mighty blow from her ax! Drilla lumbers forward and tears into one of the others, though she does not quite bring it down.

"Here come Niochulu!" the northman shouts as he comes around the cave corner, shovel held aloft, and heads toward the farthest zombie (purple). He swings the shovel at the undead before him.

Posting from phone when I should be sleeping. Would someone please move my token in front of zombie purple?
No one can accuse Niocholu* of foul play; he gives the zombies fair warning as he barrels around the corner and expertly shovels the rotting creature. It seems to do very little actual damage, however, as the flat of the shovel impacts with a dull thud against the zombie's rotted hide.
*How do you want your name spelled? You've posted NiochUlu several times, but the alias is NiochOlu.

Noting that the raw bludgeoning didn't work earlier, as Quasar strides forward into the room, she pulls thin wedges of chipped stone and crystal from the surrounding walls, forming a sharp edged disc to fling towards the less obstructed of the two zombies. "It would seem shovel not as useful as Niochulu think." He drops the tool on the ground. He then reaches to retrieve his miner's pick (Move action, provokes AoO) before attacking with it.
Luralyn rebuffs the zombie's attack with a forearm. He readies a retaliatory strike, but his bark of effort changes into a yelp of surprise at the force of Fareth's blow—he barely steps back in time to avoid the effects.
He congratulates her with a curt nod before dashing to Niocholu's side, hoping to advantage of the scorched zombie's pick-induced maneuverability. Aka move, then punch.
Reshu's sudden gout of flame ends the green zombie's unholy existence and singes the blue one. Niocholu, seeing the ineffectiveness of his shovel, switches to his pick. It easily pierces the abomination, but it to seems to have less effect than he might have hoped, and the blue zombie still stands...for a moment anyway. Luralyn is unable to connect, but Fareth's ax has the same effect on this zombie that it had on the last, dropping the undead monstrosity with a single blow! Out of combat.
The corpse that did not arise to attack you remains still. As you approach, weapons drawn you can tell that it is the still-dead corpse of a dhampir, fairly obviously killed by these zombies. I'll assume Fareth uses either her wand of cure light wounds or Janira's to heal herself before you proceed.

“As the legendary Gregaro Voth successfully battled the wild beasts in the deepest reaches of the Mwangi Expanse, so shall I defeat you, foul servant of Lamashtu!”
The route to the surface leads through a maze of tight passages that include steep ascents and short climbs as they wind from west to east. What are they? DC 11 Knowledge (dungeoneering):

She smiles a bit, having finally accomplished something useful, and asks "... is he OK?"
There was not room for Quasar to go northwest, but sheeasily tumbled away from the ooze.
Luralyn's sling stone whistles as it flies through the air, colliding solidly with the amoeba. Quasar ducks away, drawing material as she does, then unleashes a powerful blast or sharp rocks that puncture the skin holding the creature together. The perforated skin suddenly loses its ability to hold the insides under tension, and the creature pops with a disgusting noise.

The dim light of the surface world above provides a welcome reprieve from the blue and green fungus of the caverns below, the light of the full moon illuminating a stream whose water is hastened by runoff from a recent storm further up the mountains. A ledge to the west rises up to the nearby forest canopy. The moon is bright enough to illuminate even the shaded leaf litter beneath the trees. The ambient light in this area is low-light. Those of you without low-light vision or darkvision, please include a d100 roll with your attack rolls for the concealment provided by the lack of light; 1-20 misses, 21+ hits.
Some notes on terrain: The green areas on the map are underbrush, which acts as difficult terrain. The trees are only a few decades old and do not completely occupy their respective squares; a creature that shares a space with one or more trees benefits from partial cover. The stream is about 10 feet wide and 5 feet deep in this area, and the water moves downstream from east to west (top to bottom on the map). The water looks like it is moving swiftly; treat it as rough water, requiring a DC 15 swim check to cross. A 3-foot-diameter tree trunk spans the width of the river, creating an impromptu bridge, though it looks slippery and difficult to cross. The slope to the west gradually rises to a height of 20 feet, and creatures standing at its highest point benefit from both a commanding view of the battlefield and a clear vantage point for ranged attacks.
“You vile beast! I know not what drives your black heart, but I shall not fail in my duty. I shall see you driven from this forest, back to the hills from whence you came!”

One Vanara in every 500 is gifted with limited shapeshifting ability. Such a creature can adjust her size at will. She gains the change shape ability and the shapeshifter subtype. Instead of changing appearance, she can use change shape to reduce her size category to Small. Her ability scores don’t change, only her size (and thus her weapon damage); normal size penalties and bonuses to AC and CMD and on attack and skill rolls apply. Changing size or returning to her true size is a fullround action. This racial trait alters the Vanara’s type and replaces nimble.

7) Anything weird I should know about your character? Most of my characters are fairly "normal". The weird stuff you really ought to know is about this player.
I have a target start date of this coming Monday. Does that work for everyone? Does anyone have questions about setting up PbP profiles? Zach, what class is Reshu?
I'll be making a Scarab Sages unchained monk, though I won't have time to build the character until this weekend. Dennis, I'll post all my info once I've done the build!
I am probably bringing a skinwalker hunter with a "bear" companion (will be an owlbear when a certain chronicle hits), but I also need the weekend to actually build her.
Suddenly I'm slightly embarrassed that I dropped everything and slapped together a character with a class I'd never actually looked at in such a hurry last night. Although I AM happy with the backstory I slapped together to rationalize super minimalist equipment purchases.
Reshu is a Shaman with the Heavens Spirit. This is my first Shaman, and my first pbp so it feels like I'm figuring out how to build him twice.
Cool. If you haven't yet, try to get a profile created for him this weekend, then post dot in the Gameplay thread using that profile. You can use the actual PFS character profile (found under Organized Play -> My Organized Play), or you can use a messageboard alias profile (My Account -> Account Settings). If you're not 100% set on the name, I'd recommend an alias, as you can't change the name once you've posted 10 times.
Once you've created your character, please also enter your perception and initiative modifiers into the blocks in the MAPS (also linked at the top of the page and in my tagline).
If anyone has any unchained monk experience I'd love some advice! I've only played a chained monk, and that game fell apart after 2 sessions.
I've played a ton of monks, all of them chained. My recollection though is the only real changes are you lose some of the more eccentric higher level abilities, and you just plain have full BAB so you don't end up playing Schroedinger's bonuses when you might potentially kill something on the first hit.
So... basically save all your starting cash for a fancy shirt or buy some shuriken, pump up str, consider power attack, split the rest between dex and wis, maybe squeeze in the int for combat expertise and improved whatever, otherwise enjoy shopping for style feats?

Ok Kate you weren't kidding when you said there were too many awesome people in this game. You're all making my first pbp experience a great one. The quality of everyone's posts/roleplaying is SO good.
Prepping a face-to-face session this morning, should be able to get a post up later tonight!
Cords and things on Luralyn's monk garb let him make I think 20' of rope, so he can help folks get into the pit.
An interesting chain reaction there. Fareth made her Perception check to notice his cloak, which led to offering it to him, which gave a bonus to diplomacy checks to change his attitude, which meant Reshu's check was enough to make him helpful, rather than just friendly, which meant he was willing to tell you what he knows of the carvings, which counts as an aid on your checks to decipher them, which means both Quasar and Reshu (each of whom had failed by 2) actually passed their checks.
At a F2F table that all would have happened differently, though it would have ended up at the same result.
My first level PFS trend is playing out! I believe I went 3 scenarios on Oiur before I hit with an attack. I did at least get decent Knowledge rolls with them.
Luralyn's highest d20 roll has been a 9, with 3 as my most common result.
Quasar, it's my understanding that with a Kineticist, you can't fire beyone 30ft unless you have the extended range infusion. The kinetic blast is written differently than other ranged attacks, in that it doesn't list a range increment of 30ft, it says you can fire at a target up to 30ft (it's a spell-like ability, and more akin to a spell range than a ranged attack range). As you took the pushing infusion instead, you will need to get within 30ft of the minotaur to fire at it.
Kinetic Blast (Sp): At 1st level, a kineticist gains a kinetic blast wild talent of her choice. This kinetic blast must be a simple blast that matches her element. As a standard action, the kineticist can unleash a kinetic blast at a single target up to a range of 30 feet.
Female Human (Vudrani) Kineticist 1 | HP 11/11 | AC 17; TCH 14; FF 13 | F +5; R +6; W+0 | CMB -2; CMD 12
Taking a close look at the range extension infusions, yeah, that seems to be the clear intent. I somehow missed those when throwing this together, and was just going off "Physical blasts are ranged attacks." The fun of trying weird new classes.
I'll have to change that out when I get the chance but, for now year I suppose I'll be revising that to a double move.
Yeah I risked that acrobatics check, and sure enough it turned up a 3 on the rng. I hope that reflex save makes it, because I doubt things will go well for me in the river with 7 strength plus armor check penalty.
