Wei feels a bit 'talked-out' at the moment and considers pulling out the threatened tome before giving Abtaroh a brief nod at the mention of knowing of the language.
"I prefer to keep it in one language, miss. It keeps it easier to prevent... misunderstandings. Today it's Taldane. Tomorrow it might be Tien."
When Harsk makes the comment about being double-crossed, Wei's feathers fluff out and he tries to look scandalized.
"It's not a matter of if, Mister Harsk. It's a matter of *when*. When everyone knows that's on the table, it makes things so much easier, wouldn't you agree... 'Abby'? We can call you 'Abby', right?"

Grigorii nods at Abtaroh with a smile, "You should ask him about his epic poetry. It is not bad for an amateur."
"I have heard of that sunken land. The loss of Aroden, and prophecy with him, was felt more strongly there than most. They sent this vessel to the stars they studied? What is this trifle that you seek?"

"Wei Ji is quite verbose. Something that quite a few of us from the Society share, for better or worse. But he's a true friend, honorable through and through. But, I have to admit to my curiosity getting the best of me. What trinket are you interested in from the vessel? More importantly, what do we need to know about it? Are there precautions we'd need to take to transport it safely? We need to know everything, assuming you want it returned directly."

"I'm not sure that I appreciate Mr. Ji's tone, nor Harsk's." She looks again at Grigorii and Shel and then shrugs. "However, if he's a poet, some allowances can be made for temperament and flightiness."
She leans in, almost conspiratorially to Grigorii and Shel. "I'm actually looking for two missing things. One is a planet of Aballon, that got stolen from me by some local huntress. The other is... well, it's a clever device that mimics the solar system. It has a moving framework for the orbits of the planets. Exactly the sort of thing that an amateur astronomer like myself would treasure."

| GM Hmm |
"Because I have it on good authority that the ship has some monsters on it, and I lost a good portion of my team to you," Abtaroh says, practically. "I'm willing to pay 250 platinum and my magic belt. If you could kill my guys, you can certainly take out a monster or two. Besides, the ship itself is a valuable find, and probably chockfull of information on a culture that has been lost for over 200 years."

Life is a test. There are many answers in life to the questions it provides. It is by learning from our answers that we gain insight. It is through insight we grow as individuals. By growing as individuals we become better adapted and prepared to handle new tests. Always learning a student is. Always there are tests. Patience is as hard to test as Immediacy. There is only calm, and then wisdom ensues. Be wise, Wei.
Words from a tome of the Master help him remain calm and come down from his flustered moment, and he gives a slight bow to Abby.

Yay! It worked! It's only the second time I've used Touch of Idiocy, and it's becoming one of my new favorite spells!
I should mention however that Scorching Ray is still a ranged attack, even if you make the cast defensively check, so it still provokes, in case you'd rather retcon Abby's action for something else. There's actually an FAQ on it.
