"I guess we should just go over and see what that is. But what's the deal with this corpse here. Seems pretty creepy." When he sees the others getting out their weapons he gets out his guitar. "I think we're going to need some music soon."

The body appears to have been dead for quite some time. The crown on its head is tin, and doesn't appear to have been a real crown at all. Maybe investigation of the books might reveal more...
Gwendolyn detects no magic in this room, but there is some conjuration coming from the direction of the sound...
Working your way into the western area, you see three horrible creatures that match up with Gandro's description of his otherwordly assassins...
A large portal can be seen on the far wall...

Zootloot eyes the creatures. They don't look too friendly at all. He also notices that the portal on the far wall, well, it's painted on. Seems strange.
As the creatures take a threatening stance Zootloot begins strumming his guitar. He starts quietly with a humming song.

Assuming she doesn't have reason to think they might be immune to her magic, she steps into the gap and launches off another spray of bright scintillating color (color spray DC 16).
If she has reason to believe they are immune she instead triggers her scintillating mage armor, but moves all the same.

Off the top of my player head, I can't remember if they are mindless enough or not to care about patterns, and since Gwen doesn't actually know much about the planes yet herself, she splashes them (the two who do not have total cover from her) with color.

Zoot starts to play, and Gwendolyn helps get the show on the road with a wonderful display of colour. Two of the figures fall over.

That is the kind of stupid s*~# that gets friends killed! Dwozer quickly follows Gwendolyn into the room, drawing his sword back for a mighty swing.

Amelie moves into the room and fires an arrow at the only creature still standing.

Amelie drops the last demon. The others are unconscious, and easily finished off.
Well, that was a bit anti climatic!
The 'portal' on the wall appears to be a swirl of paint without even a hint of magic to it.

"Well that was anticlimactic." Gwen says, hands on hips.

With a final flourish on the one-string guitar Zootloot completes his song. "Ah. Well done, mighty warriors. This epic battle will be sure to go down in the annals of history. A mighty battle mightily fought mighty quickly."
How many rounds? I think it was just one. Need to track my performances.

Not any more and just the one round. Colour spray is pretty devastating against low HD monsters.
Amidst the furniture is a desk with several log books and journals. Most of them detail the day-to-day transactions of the Emporium, but one is Relios’s personal journal. It details the goings on of many of his wealthy clients, as well as Relios’s personal life including the details of his ancestry and his son’s birth. One of the last ledgers mentions that Relios was falling on hard times and intended to sell his wayfinder back to the Pathfinder Society. The ledgers also show that Relios was selling a steady stream of yellowcap mushrooms to members of the pre-revolution high society in Augustana.
The inner chambers are lined with yellowcap mushrooms.

"So... what are these mushrooms he's referring to? I've never heard of them. I would guess that maybe our 'prince' was maybe enjoying these mushrooms a little bit too much?"
Zootloot looks around the room and finds an empty scroll case and a blank piece of paper.
"Well, I guess we should go tell the guy what we found."
So I'm assuming that is the end of the adventure. Seemed rather short. :-)
Mavin Krane

Mavin looks at the painted gate. Then the mushrooms. Then the effigies. Then her comrades.
"...is that it? Did we just romp around the filthy sewers for...this?"
She lets out a faint sigh, then hoists her glaive onto her shoulder. "I don't know about you all, but I could use a strong beverage right about now. Maybe then I'll at least get half as loopy as 'His Royal Highness.'"

Ignoring her owl, Gwen cautiously pokes one of the mushrooms to see if it shrieks, sings, turns invisible and attacks or what have you.
"Sewers are really not my thing. Why would anyone need a yellow mushroom"

Yeah, sorry about that. Gwen is one of my two light/illusion-based casters (she's more about the bright light lights than full-on illusions).

With what you have discovered you can return to the captain and the Prince. How you treat him... well... that may be another story.
And there is a whole backstory to this sorry saga that I'm happy to share if you want it.

Amelie is just as confused as the others, maybe more so. "Why would his highness send us here for mushrooms? I don't get it! Do you think he's not who he says he is? Oh well" she shrugs her shoulders and really doesn't give it much further thought.
