Fronar warns everyone to not use fire around here just yet
Molos fires a bit of snow at one of the spiders, hitting it
Fort save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

Daniloth unsure what to do yet goes fully on the defensive.
The spiders start to spin and throw webs..one of them (blue one with one action) to hit Markas flatfooted AC: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18 hits Markas and entangles him while the other 2 move closer and try to bite Markas

Seeing how this is pbp and I can't see Seijiro's (intended) movements ..Seijiro either has to go through the webs or one of the spiders to get into flanking ..if going through the spider ..you don't beat the CMD and it's gets an attack against you...if you go through the web you get stuck there ...let me know what route you planned to take and we'll go from there
Molos throws another handful of snow at the spider he already hit

Seijiro moves up next to a spider but fails to being able to hit it
Elsabeth moves forward and swings her scarf at one of the spider but is also unable to hit her target.
Markas is just able to move and swing his weapon even though his movements are hindered by the web that the spiders covered him with as he moves into more sticky webbing and is able to slice through not only 3 of his targets legs but also through the spiders head.
Daniloth seems frozen with fear at the sight of the giant spiders (NPC-ing him into full defensive again)
The spiders go on the offensive
To bite Markas AC: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
To bite Elsabeth AC: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Markas armor proves to be too though the get through..even though he's not able to move as quickly as he'd would like to avoid the fangs as the webs are slowing down his movements
But Elsabeth is hurt as the spiders fangs sink into her sort flesh

Welcome back Daniloth, I was starting to get a bit worried
Seijiro strikes at one of the spiders, but fails to hit the dodgy creature
The same goes for Markas
Fronar makes Seijiro disappear from sight.
Daniloth shoots an arrow at one of the spiders (as far as I can tell, no precise shot, so an -4 to hit) but even as the spider is dodging around Markas Daniloth is able to put an arrow into it.
@Molos: Daze has a target of one humanoid creature, I'll assume that you(r character) would know this, so feel free to do something else with your action if you do it before my next update

@Seijiro, the one you were attacking is down already, I've moved you to another spider (while avoiding the webs)
Seijiro appears out of no where and tries to stab one of the spiders before it notices Seijiro is there and manages to hit (if you include the inspire, flag and bonus from being invisible (+2 to hit) vs flatfooted)
Which (with the flag+inspire bonus to damage) is enough to bring down of the spiders.
The combined attacks of Elsabeth and Markas are enough to bring down the last spider
The fore cabin contains a desk and some papers, including the ship’s logbook. That document clearly indicates that the Hanspur’s Luck was ordered by Lady Riverbane to come to this location and await further instructions. Nowhere on the ship is there any trace of the crew.

this is from the core rule book under the magic items, potions section.
Identifying Potions: In addition to the standard methods of identification, PCs can sample from each container they find to attempt to determine the nature of the liquid inside with a Perception check. The DC of this check is equal to 15 + the spell level of the potion (although this DC might be higher for rare or unusual potions).
Revvy Bitterleaf
|
@Fronar, yup..you can also use perception or if your an alchemist craft alchemy to identify a potion ..but in this case they are also labeled ..just in a language none of you seem to speak
Molos is able to determine that one of the potions is one of lesser restoration..but he has no clue on the other 2
Seijiro finds out that the webs are very sticky...but contain nothing.

@Fronar,you are able to figure out that all 3 potions contain the same substance (at least according to their labels). And I think you can take 10, not 100%
After you are done with looking through the ship the expedition resumes its course. The next morning, Lady Riverbane anchors her ship and leads you ashore. She gives you a very simple map which leads you to the place where the Black Marquis’s men were ambushed.
Lady Riverbane says she needs to stay behind with her crew to ensure that her ship doesn’t fall to brigands or abominations.
The journey from the shores of the Sellen River to the location marked on Riverbane’s map takes four hours at normal walking speed.
The forest here is ancient. Dense masses of leafage impose an eerie twilight of dark green while forlorn trees speak of a bygone age where humans wrestled for survival in a land of darkness. Many thick sheets of giant webbing stretch like great shrouds around the gaunt trees and groveling bushes.

All though it's a very good approach..it's a lot of web and it's entangled through all the vegetation here...setting fire to it will either results in not much at all...or set fire to the entire forest
As you take a closer look you notice that the webs are through a large area and almost form a sort of labyrinth.

There are some signs that someone or something - Daniloth can't be sure what - has entered the labyrinth
What it comes down too is you are entering an sort of maze (which has no map) in which you will wander around a bit and then come across a few encounter..I'll assume that you will move inside and start checking it out. There are some tight corridors, but at most points you can walk 2 people side by side..so I'd like a marching order please, and since I'll assume that you will be actively searching 2 perception checks each please (you are allowed to take 10 if you want..take 20 will take too much time since the area is massive)

Second: Seijiro, Fronar
Back: Molos, Daniloth
A few minutes into the labyrinth the floor suddenly drops out from underneath Markas and Elsabeth (nobody was able to spot the colcealed pit trap)
DC 20 reflex save for Markas and Elsabeth or take 1d6 ⇒ 5 falling damage
Covered in gooey webbing, the broken corpse of one of the Black Marquis’s men lies at the bottom of this pit.
It takes a DC 5 acrobatics check to get past this pit (but you can just climb down with a knotted rope and take 10 on a DC 5 climb check if for some reason you can't make the acrobatics checks and then do the same on the other side to climb out)
On the other side you continue your exploration.
As you venture deeper into the maze, you spot a few more dead bodies hanging upside-down in giant spider webs—all members of the ill-fated expedition.
Navigating the labyrinth isn’t a simple task, and if you don't succeed on multiple survival checks in a row you might end up going the wrong way
(You can use aid another for these checks, to speed things up assign someone as primary roller and the rest can try to assist if you want, give me 5 survival checks and I'll see what happens with your tour through the maze)
