Hangust
|
Yes were still fighting.
E'li
|
Flynn and Puk finish this round. No forced delay because I can barely post from phone. At convention. Apologies.
So delays only work when convenient?
Flyn Rider
|
Well to be fair, I am here just very confused by the in game dialogue, Flyn will move and attack
Striding across the room quickly, Flyn slashes his rapier across the mercenary in an attempt to end him.
Rapier: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 171d6 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Puk's performance is over correct
Hangust
|
Full health! Thanks Puk!
| GMsui |
Well to be fair, I am here just very confused by the in game dialogue.
Mechanically, if you're not flat footed, you may talk as a free action even if it's not your turn. Normally players try to keep it short, but sometimes a little banter keeps things funny, light-hearted, and interesting.
Flyn makes quick work of the remaining guard with his rapier. Hangust stands with renewed vigor, perhaps grateful for the cool-headed wand-work of the fiery-headed, darting, weaving, untouchable Mr. Laughington.
All PCs can faintly hear a strange chanting beyond the door to the Deckland Archives.
Janks' subordinate guards are bleeding to death.
Is Rathor the only one still hurt?
| Puk Laughington |
Puk dances over to rathor tapping him with his wand then goes to look at the loot and detects for magic.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Hangust
|
Heh, thanks for the help guys. Thought I was a goner.
Hangust takes a look around the room, and then puts his ear up to the door to the next room, hoping to discern how many people may be chanting.
Perception (Checking the Room): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Perception (Hearing): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
| GMsui |
Puk finds the bolts but is unable to ascertain their qualities.
Hangust finds nothing else of interest about the room the party is in. Presumably, if there were more hostile undead, Rathor's channeling might have already burned them away. Instead, the remaining Deckland dead remain still in their alcoves. Pressing his ear to the door, Hangust feels he can only make out one voice. If there is a language to be heard, he does not recognize it.
| GMsui |
Unless you cast it near the start of this fight, no. That said, you should have at least one blessing good to go, and I should remind you that magic stone lasts 30 minutes, so you still have three +1 bullets.
No one recognizes the language, and it has ceased, replaced by a rattling, sucking sound closer to the door.
Hangust
|
Hangust draws his weapons and turns to the group.
No time like the present eh?
Despite all the wounds he's taken, or maybe because them, the halfling seems to have no sense of self preservation and looks as though he's about to open the door.
So unless anyone objects, it seems we've done all we can in this room. Considering the number of creatures we have fought so far with DR, if anyone has a way around that, I'm all ears.
| GMsui |
E'li does. And as I had to look way back to see what he meant when he asked if his blessing was still up, and as I took it as fluff at the time because normally he wouldn't be able to bless and attack in the same round, and because the only other time he stated he was using a blessing the action was specified well in advance and I think later overridden by a different course of action (please correct me if I'm wrong here, E'li), he may not have actually used a blessing yet, so he can do a Junior-league holy weapon as a standard action touch for one minute two or three times now. +1d6 against evil, bypasses as if good. Pretty nifty.
E'li
|
I thought I had put the good blessing on my sling in an earlier fight. I dont think I hit anything with the sling bullets after I had invoked the blessings. If it is not on no biggie since I can reapply it.
Hangust
|
Let's hope I don't end up bleeding on the floor again. Hangust swings the door open and prepares for the worst.
| GMsui |
Rathor, note that you've got precious few seconds of big-ness left.
Everyone, before I place tokens and start this combat, place yourselves where your characters would wish to stack up for a room breach, and then post something to the effect that you're ready. I imagine you've moved around a bit since the last guard dropped, even if your character token hasn't.
Flyn Rider
|
Taking note of the notches in his blade, Flyn chants under his breath as his sword take os a familiar blue glow. Aye let us move on and finish this quest
Enchanted blade again 10 Rounds remain.
Hangust
|
E'li can you also move your token to where you want to be as we enter, unless you would like to start combat from all the way over there. Also blessing someone else could only help speed up this combat, which seems likely to be the last.
| GMsui |
Moving Puk to a logical spot and E'li to a legal one.
Hangust kicks the door open, and hears a wheezing screech to his left. It is another of the same sort of devils that the party had already slain - a lemure - but bigger, stronger somehow, and crueler. Across the room, Celeena Deckland peers out from behind a bookcase to scream out, "Defilers! Absalom dogs! Join the bones of my family!"
BADDY INITIATIVE:
Celeena: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13
GOODIE INITIATIVE:
Hangust: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Rathor: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Adriana: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
E'li: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Puk: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Flyn: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Round 1: Hangust, Adriana, Celeena + Lemure, Flyn, Puk, E'li, Rathor.
Bold may post.
Hangust
|
Hangust tumbles through the door and past the giant Lemure, Hopefully Acrobatics: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
He then turns and attacks, knowing he probably won't be able to hurt it, he gives it his best shot.
Kukri: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 121d3 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
If only I had a blessing...
Hangust
|
Haha, oops, even after reading the description I was thinking of them as benches or church pews for some reason. Oh well.
Adriana Korinne
|
I hate cramped combat.
Adriana follows closely on the heels of Hangust, preferring to launch an attack from a position where the creature lacks cover from the bookcase.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 3) + 6 = 10
Crit Confirm?: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Additional Damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 4) + 6 = 11
| GMsui |
Adriana steps in, and cuts the Lemure nigh in twain. Operative word: Almost. It strikes back, held together by what seems a strand.
Claw 1: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Claw 1 Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Claw 2: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
Claw 2 Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Howling, it strikes Adriana once for 5 damage.
Celeena advances one set of bookcases and fires a sickly green ray at Hangust. You notice as she crosses the aisle that she is wielding a shortspear.
Adriana Spellcraft: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Adriana does not recognize the spell.
Ranged Touch: 1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (15) + 3 - 4 = 14
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Hangust, you take a -6 penalty to Strength. Fort DC 15 for half. Repeat: Penalty, not damage
"But a prelude!" she shouts. "Soon, then this whole rotten city will fall!"
Round 1: Hangust, Adriana, Celeena + Lemure, Flyn, Puk, E'li, Rathor.
Round 2: Hangust, Adriana, Celeena + Lemure, Flyn, Puk, E'li, Rathor.
Entire party is up.
Hangust
|
Fort: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Hangust mostly shakes off whatever hit him, but he suddenly feels drained, he knows he's been attacked and that makes him angry. He advances on the crazy woman and attacks.
Temp STR Score: 12. Since the bookcase prevented me from attacking, not sure if that's a threatened square but I'll roll acrobatics just in case.
acrobatics: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
Going to move Hangust to my intended spot but if he can't make it there just move him back.
Kukri,MH (Raged): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 211d3 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
2 rounds of Rage left for today
Adriana Korinne
|
Adrianna makes a mental note to call herself the Lemure Slayer from now on, as she attempts to finish what she started.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 4) + 6 = 13
Rathor
|
Hearing Adrianna finish off the otherworldly creature, Rathor rushes into the room, moving along the northern edge, around the bookcases, to outflank their enemy.
I'm on mobile right now, can someone move me? Double move is 8.
Flyn Rider
|
Flyn dodges through the aisle to attack the arcane caster,[i]Ah, another arcane caster like me, maybe I can learn from her if she lives[i].
Rapier: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 261d6 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Critical Confirmation: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 151d6 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
E'li
|
On his turn the warpriest will move in and fire with one of the magic stones at the lady.
1d20 + 1 + 4 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 1 + 4 + 1 + 2 = 17 the additional +2 is from a trait if the person is evil
1d6 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 1 + 2 = 6
1d6 ⇒ 4 if evil
for a total of 10
Looking back I am all out of blessings. I did one protection and 2 good blessings
