GM Eclipse |
Feel free to dot and delete in the Gameplay thread.
Slides and initial post will be incoming as the date to start looms closer.
With those things aside this will be my first time GMing a PbP game but I do have some experience in the paper versions of 3.5 and Pathfinder. I welcome any and all criticism or suggestions in this discussion thread or through PM. I want to make this experience the best for all of us.
What I ask of my players (you):
-Try to post at least once a day. More if you can help it especially in combat.
-Try to put some effort into your posts rather than just give me dice. A brief explanation works fine and allows me to improve my posts as well.
-Let me know ahead of time if you will be absent or aren't feeling to hot.
Thanks!
Tem, the First and Last |
Checking in. This is my phantom Tem, I'll post with his spiritualist Poe next.

Faction: Grand Lodge
Progression Track: Normal
Day Job: N/A

The character profile needs to be updated with his level up to 3.
GM Eclipse |
Sounds great. Finishing up the slide decks. Was hoping for GM support to be in now but I am getting the basics done.
Gonna read up on Spiritualist a bit since I have never played one or played with one. Gripplis are awesome tho!
Wilen Proudbrew |
Wilen Proudbrew, proud ale brewmaster and dabbler in alchemy, reporting for duty!
Player: PaleDim
Character: Wilen Proudbrew
Agent No.: 272301-1
Faction: The Exchange
Progression Track: Normal
Day Job: Profession (Brewer)

Also, it appears the gameplay thread isn't open for dotting
GM Eclipse |
Glad to see ya PaleDim. I fixed the Gameplay thread once I figured out I had to make a thread for it.
I also tossed the slide deck into the top and will put it into my tagline this alias. Still a work in progress as the PDFs haven't been sent to us but feel free to input information on the Player Information slide.
Uther Blackwater |
Hello, ShieldBug here, playing as Uther. He is still a little in flux personality wise, but he is a ranged fighter who likes to use his bow like a club. I just need to figure out how to make him a little more knightly.
I'll fill out the slide as soon as I can. They look gorgeous, by the way. :)

It looks like the URL for this session had changed since the URL was placed in the Outpost spreadsheet, so I updated it.

Thank you for changing it. Looks like when I was doing some tidying up with the titles the link changed. Still working out all the kinks.
Still waiting on the scenarios to drop but as soon as they do I will post the initial posts and update our slides accordingly. I am very excited to get started.
Thank you ShieldBug your slidedeck looked so nice so I wanted to do something similar. Would you be okay with me using a similar combat block style as well? It works fantastically.

I wouldn't mind in the least! In fact, I use something similar to a couple of GMs I played with before I started GMing. I think it's called the circle of life or something. :)
Tem, the First and Last |
I'm juggling available characters for available games right now. I might have to change from the spiritualist 3 to a warpriest 2 or a sorcerer 1. I'll update the sign in sheet as soon as I know.
GM Eclipse |
Got my scenario drop so expect to see the initial posts in the Gameplay thread and the slides updated within the next day or two.
Wilen Proudbrew |
FYI, in case we start before the outpost start date: I'm away on a camping trip Saturday and Sunday (3/3-3/4, US/Pacific time).

Initial post is up.
I won't move the actual scenario forward till we start but if the players want to converse they are welcome to.
We are still waiting for our last member and I have sent a message but with the new site and them not being active since early February I will get us a fill this weekend.
Once again I am looking forward to this as my first PbP Gming experience so as we go through the scenario please let me know if there is anything I can do to help improve the game for all of us.
GM Hmm |
GM Eclipse, you will be great. Everything about your thread looks good, too!
About Voice of Mag: they have gone missing from all their campaigns. Real life must have hit them hard recently. (Hope they are okay.) You have my leave to seek a replacement player immediately.
Hugs,
Hmm
GM Eclipse |
We do indeed have a spot and would love to have you.
Just check-in with the format the others used and feel free to hop in gameplay with your initial post. We won't actually start till OutPost kicks off.
Korgan Stonehammer |
Actually, scratch that, I'm bringing a level 2 Cleric. I want to play my magus in an upcoming local full Emerald Spire run.
Player: Zer0darkfire
Character: Korgan Stonehammer
Agent No.: 156828-13
Faction: Grand Lodge
Progression Track: Normal
Day Job: Profession (Smith): 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (6) + 13 = 19
Level: 2
Grey, of Mut |
Ha, so that curse would have had a chance to increase Grey's intelligence...
GM Eclipse |
Oh wow that is crazy indeed. Would have actually buffed you more than others. Would also be interesting having a skinwalker take on a template and share all those characteristics.
GM Eclipse |
Getting caught up at work today. I will have the new post up in a few hours maybe sooner if we get cut. Need this weekend to hurry up!
GM Eclipse |
Okay, that was pretty intense formatting my first PbP combat round. Hopefully it looks good and is easily readable. Please let me know if any changes should be made.
Grey, of Mut |
Your formatting is wonderful. You only missed giving Wilen a DC for his will save (it is ok to miss stuff, we all will).
GM Eclipse |
Thank you. I got the tracker from my games with GM ShieldBug/Uther.
Luckily I was still under the hour so I went back and added it. Thank you for the heads up.
Uther Blackwater |
Okay, that was pretty intense formatting my first PbP combat round.
Hehe, yeah the first time can be quite a lot of work. Just remember to copy the text into a notepad or something before you post, and from there on out it will be quick and easy. :)
P.S. I just saw the images of Uther, Grim, and Wilen on the campaign information page. Nice!
GM Eclipse |
Visual aids are always fun. I made a document with the basic premise so it is indeed a lot easier now.
And natural attacks happen to be very confusing since I have not used them much since 3.5. A full-attack is done on them without needed iteratives or feats?
Hopefully I did that right and sorry that attack was so painful.
Grey, of Mut |
Ya, no penalties if they are only using natural attacks. Ghouls are a terrifying low level foe. Ghouls alone are responsible for half the low level deaths if seen (not an exaggeration, I counted).
Uther Blackwater |
Yeah, I had to double check the first time I saw the stat blocks for Ghouls. They are frightening creatures. :)
GM Eclipse |
I've sent a message to Grimbl to make sure everything is okay, nothing new since Tuesday. Gonna bot him for this round.
Wilen Proudbrew |
FYI, I will be away on a camping trip starting Friday late afternoon, through Sunday afternoon (US/Pacific time). I will very likely have limited or no coverage to post. I'll be able to catch up late Sunday. Feel free to bot me from late Friday to early Sunday.
GM Eclipse |
I should have ran that better. It was a good case where I could let the first three also do their 2nd round action as the masks would still be breaking out through the 1st round.
Uther Blackwater |
I know some GMs who like to do one round at a time like you did, and others who like roll over like you suggested. Personally, I think it works either way and is more of a case of how you (as the GM) prefer to run it. :)
Wilen Proudbrew |
Yeah, unless you think we're running behind I think this is good.
Wilen Proudbrew |
Also: Oh that's where all my good die rolls went! I suspect purple is done-for and that I'll wish I'd spent that attack on orange :) I usually don't get in two bombs before the party converged and splash damage becomes an issue for them.
GM Eclipse |
Due to military obligations I am going to be on 24 hour shifts for at least the next two days where I will not be able to reliably post. Stepped away to get these messages posted.
GM Eclipse |
Alright I am back and getting caught up on games. I will post in a few.
It was mostly uneventful I am just a wee bit groggy, lol.
GM Eclipse |
Who knew I would have a chance to have a monkey throw poop in my first scenario!
