Ilona Ebonblade |
Ilona strides forward, Requiem drawn eyes focused only on the orc's body.
"This was violent, I guess he didn't expect anyone to be home. But there's no way it went down that easy, Gillian, stay back but it there any way you can check for signs of life? Lanik, Chops, notice anything else I should know?"
She looks back at Ragnar. "What aren't we seeing? What survived this?"
Ilona Ebonblade |
Ilona strides forth, Requiem held at the ready, eyes locked on the body of the orc.
"This was pretty violent," she chuckles,"I'm guessing it didn't expect to find anyone home and got one hell of a welcome. There's no way it's done though, thre's something still alive in here."
She steps a bit closer, standing alongside Chops as he investigates the strange corpse.
"See anything else? How about you Lanik, you're staring at this scene harder than you looked at us. Aang, what seem s out of place here?"
Looking back at Ragnar she speaks quietly.
"What aren't we seeing? Who survived this and who didn't?"

Aha got you you bastard! Cntrl S WINS AGAIN
Lanik Clearwater |
Lanik turn back to Gillian. Staring deeply into her eyes. His voice is low, meant only for gillians ears.
There is evil in this place. I can feel it and the River has blessed me with the ability to see it.
Lanik gaze falls to the ground
I have seen the dark god evil, it infects the world, it creeps in and finds a home in your heart and spreads. I have seen this over and over but what I see now is not that.
Lanik tightens his grip on his glaive and gives a hint of fear. A moment later it is gone, replaced with resolve.
There is another kind of evil I see, evil not of this world. It permeates these surroundings. The shadow has its agenda, you generally know what they want and can use that against them. These "creatures" are...... unpredictable. We have to show extreme caution.
Ragnar Death-Speaker |
Ragnar moves forward when it becomes clear that there is no foe to ambush. Taking in the scene, he scans, counting figures in the room.
Ragnar can't really tell the diference between a spirit and a living thing without some careful study. How many people besides the party does he see?
Anang |
Sorry, tried to post a few time but ended up getting frustrated.
Anang creeps forward alongside Chops, pulling a pair of Sepi from his belt as he advances. He stops just behind chops and then calls out a warning to the rest of the group.
"Keep away from the survivor. If the demon left the orc before it was slain it could have possessed any other creature in the vicinity. I saw the same black slime that those black worms produced just before the turn in the tunnel and where those worms are the demon is."
Readied action to throw a Sepi at the creature if it makes any move toward the group.
Solvistania Elghreah |
Solvistania draws the bow back, with an arrow nocked, ready to fire, and cautiously approaches the others, scanning all around her. Perception 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
She says nothing, but her eyes are filled with questions. She stares at the strange creature, trying to determine if such lore of the creature existed. Knowledge, any 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

Ilona's eyes comb the scene as her pack works to unravel the mystery before them, calling upon all the knowledge of her past life.
Gilian |
Gilian comes at last to the bloody scene and stops in her tracks at the sight of the creature.
"This one is still alive as you can see it breathing through this apertures. These creatures must be of an old race like the fey. If we want to communicate with it, we need to use mental speech. Maybe Felina can help"
Tuning to the gnome newcommer. "You said you could sort of sense evil people, can you? Maybe if this place was the old lair of the demon and is infused with too much evil, we could bring the creature back to the water edge and there you could sense it."
Without waiting for the gnome answer, she adds for the others "If we meet other creatures like this one and they turn hostile, use light and fire. If they live close to water and in the dark, they may fear it."
Ilona Ebonblade |
Ilona looks over at Gillian, shaking her head pensively.
"This is older, there's stories about evil living under mountains like these. Things that even Legates are terrified of." She exhales quietly then stands up straighter, radiating confidence.
"Good call on the light and fire, down here the dark is definitely in their favor."
Chops the Defender Dworg |
"Well I guess there is only one way to find out." Chops approaches it carefully, leaning it away from the orc corpse and engaging it in a full nelson.
Grapple check if needed 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
He then proceeds to drag it around the corner and towards the water.
I know I am assuming a lot. If it turns out to be bluffing, I guess we'll find out.
nightflier |
Felina walks over next to Solvistania, and hisses briefly at her, then looks over at the strange creature.

Ragnar Death-Speaker |
With pretense at subtlety cast aside once more, Ragnar surges forward, the rubies on his blade blazing to light as he quickly catches up to the beautiful Sarcosan. He says nothing, but falls into stride along side her. With his customary coat and bear hide left behind and his skin bathed in the red glow of his sword, he looks every inch an iconic Dornish hero charging into hell along side a Valkyr. The starry ghost-eyes swirl around him, and in a place close but infinitely far, only faintly heard by the living, dead children beat ghostly battle drums.

As you descend, the path that demon took becomes obvious. You travel through the nightmarish warrens filled with organic-looking sacks of strange fluids and meaty walls that delineate different corridors and chambers. Soon you become disoriented as the architecture of the caverns and chambers underneath the stalagmite seems to defy the logic or common sense. There is what seems to blood and ichor everywhere, as demon jumped from body to body killing everything in its sight. So much carnage in that alien place is starting to cloud your mind. Will save, remember that you are fatigued.

is this the same will I made earlyer? If not... 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18
Lanik Clearwater |
Solvi, Lanik and Anang watch as their companions start to shiver and tremble. Their pupils are becoming enlarged and they are starting to scratch themselves.
Is this a fear effect?
Perception:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12Knowlege shadow: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
If it is a fear effect can I use inspire valor to give them another save or will it just add the bonus to the save they already have?
Anang |
Anang moves back toward the group and seeing that Solvi and Lanik appear to be the only ones unaffected by their surroundings whispers a question to them.
"Would a short a short respite from these horrible surroundings help the others? If we all bunch up I can obscure their view for a while and hopefully the effect will pass?"
Not sure if it'd work but if I cast obscuring mist and that hid the surroundings for a while it might allow those affected to get a hold on themselves.

While watching your surroundings, you realize that the twisted reality of this strange organic domain with its ocular inhabitants has proven to be to much to bear for the minds of your new companions.
You can try and see.

"Very well, Anang, we will attempt your solution, hopefully it will bring our packamtes back to our reality." She take Chops and Ilona in each arm, guiding them close to Anang, so as to allow the spell to conceal them fully.
Chops the Defender Dworg |
Red welts appear as Chops scratches furiously at his arms and face. "Aghk! Get it off me! Ack! Agh!" He drops the creature he was dragging to the earth and then backs to the side of the cave entrance, rubbing his back against the rock. Blood starts to run down his cheeks where his long nails dug into the skin. "Solvi!?! Solviiiiiii?!!?!!" He falls to the ground and rolls around on his back; back and forth he rocks.
He feels the cool touch of Solvistania as she tries and guides him closer to their companion. He looks at her. She can see his wide pupils constrict to pinpoints in the midnight blue iris as he fights the cause of his torment.
Solvistania Elghreah |
Solvistania murmers to Chops, "Easy there, easy there, Chops, you are with me...easy, easy..." She touches his feverish forehead, and runs her hands over the bloody marks on his face, allowing some healing energy flow into him Cure Minor Wounds.
Once he has calmed down, she lays him down, and moves to assist the others who need help, until she gives the signal to Anang, to unleash his spell.
Lanik Clearwater |
My fellow warriors, don't be taken in by the evil of this room! Focus on the reason why we are here, focus on what you need to do...
Lanik takes a position in the lead of the group. Glaive drawn he turns back to the group.
and you get lost your can focus on me. We have a demon to kill, Place all other obstacles out of your mind.
Inspire valor
Ilona Ebonblade |
Ilona grips the blade of her sword with so firmly that her nails dig into her palms.
Trying desparately to overcome the fear and alienness of the surroundings, trying to be a leader, an inspiration and feeling herself slipping into failure, giving into weakness for the first time since she chose her path, her entire expression is one of such anguish and sorrow that it breaks the heart to witness.
