Duncan Bloodforged |
Seeing the second blade today snap in his hands, and hearing the cry in his head, for a moment Duncan stands like thunderstruck, but then in one swift motion draws his own broken sword with a slightly longer edge left, and tucks the remains of Sorrow into the scabbard. Outside he looks calm, but he can feel once again sparks flying inside of him, and tickling sensation in the back of his throat.
"Ilona, Ragnar, Lyj. Go ahead and kill the lizard and the Summoner. This bastard is mine."
And he takes a deep breath, prepared to blast the beast with lightning.
Changing weapons was Duncan's unused move action for this round since the blade was broken on his turn. And since most of you can charge the Summoner and his protectors this round, before he summons another monster. And seeing how close to death the bulette is, Duncan will kill it on his own, and then finish the Mage, since his damage dealing power is drastically reduced now.
Ragnar Death-Speaker |
Ragnar watches Sorrow break, hears her cry in his mind and stares in confusion for a moment at the broken blade and at the empty air next to Duncan.
"Sorrow?" the big Dorn says in wonder. "How?"
His jaw clenches a moment later and he stares down at the mushroom summoner.
Exactly how far behind the lizard is the summoner. "a ways back" is a little vague.
Ilona Ebonblade |
Ilona sees the mighty blade snap and practically feels the stab of cold shock that hits Ragnar. She growls hands tightening on Requiem's hilt.
"I've got the lizard, you rip that bastard in half."
In the blink of an eye she explodes ino violence, charging towards the creature with the glowing rune on its head, the midnight black blade surging forward in an elegant arc to shear into it, eveloping the wound in violet flame.

About 100 feet.

Ilona strikes at the lizard, feeling his strange flesh giving way beneath her blade. Mighty dwarf's blow was powerful enough to wound the beast greatly, but her own slender blade spilled a lot of blood as well, which turned to smoke almost the instant it left the wound.

finishing the previous round's action
Ragnar lunges into action, running full tilt towards the summoner.
Full run, can't attack this round, but I'll end up right next to him ready for next round, or an AoO if he starts casting again.
He is fully surrounded with seven mushrooms that now have thorns on their appendages.
Duncan Bloodforged |
Taking a devastating bite that puncture his armour and drove dagger length teeth into his body, Duncan's breath is knocked from his lungs, and almost instinctively, before the pain of his wounds fully hits him, the young knight slams his broken blade into the head of the monster.
Attack 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 23
Damage 1d6 + 6 - 1 ⇒ (5) + 6 - 1 = 10
Gilian, if you have any healing left, it would be nice to help Duncan, he is down to 7 hp.

I was under the impression that they were close enough for Gillian to attempt to rebuke them. If they were 100 feet away, and still firing darts at us, they have some serious range on those things. Plants are immune to fear. Ragnar's just put himself in the middle of a bad situation. Crap.

They weren't firing darts from that range. They absorbed the dartguns and retreated. So, you are now about the half between them and Chops and Ilona.
Duncan Bloodforged |
Summoner is about 70 feet behind the Mage and about ten feet behind the line of blowers.
Exactly how far behind the lizard is the summoner? "a ways back" is a little vague.
About 100 feet.
I did some calculations, and this is how I figure it looks like:
Bulette was right in front of the Mage, between us and him. I will use the mage as a point of reference.
Duncan stayed back with the bulette. After killing it, he moved 20 feet ahead, so he is just behind the Mage about 5 feet away, still close enough to attack him on the following round.
Lyj has one action left, but he is in front of the Mage at the moment, because he was still attacking the bulette.
Chops charged the line of the darters, and is now fighting the Mushroomed Dwarf at about 60ft from the Mage.
The Lizard is somewhere around 40ft between the Mage and the Summoner, since Sorok and Ilona managed to charged it. They are right in front of it.
Gilian moved 40 feet two rounds ago, and was in line with the Mage, but then moved about 20 feet ahead, so she (right behind Sorok's tower shield held by Pebble) is about halfway between Duncan on one side, and Sorok and Ilona fighting the lizard.
Solvi is somewhere behind Lyj or in line with him, maybe just out of range of the now dead bullete, and should advance a bit for a better shot.
Ragnar double moved, 60ft, so he should be at the same line as Chops, maybe 10feet to the right from Chops (as I imagine it)
And if the Summoner is now 100 feet behind the lizard, but was only 70 feet from the Mage, he had to move back at some point. So if the lizard iz at about 40 feet from the Mage, the Summoner is 140 from the Mage, give or take 10 feet, so he must have moved at least 60-70 feet. The Darters are around him, so they moved with him probably this round since the Summoner didn't do anything
Sarith |
Since Lyj has missed last round, I'll post for him.
Still weak from his initial meeting with the mushrooms, Lyj focuses on the mage held at bay by Gilian will. Taking position near one of its appendage, on the opposite side of Duncan, he tries to sever it.
Attack 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19, damage 1d4 + 5 + 3d6 ⇒ (2) + 5 + (2, 3, 4) = 16
Duncan Bloodforged |
As Gilian moves her hand from Duncan's chest, and the healing light extinguishes, for a brief moment, Duncan tucks his blade in the fold of his arm, and gently takes hold of Gilian. As their eyes meet, she can see a maelstrom of emotions in his expression. But he simply says:"Thank you... my lady" as he lets her hand slip from his own, and takes up once more his broken blade.

The lizard hisses and jumps at Sorok, biting him and clawing with front paws.
1d20 + 19 ⇒ (20) + 19 = 392d6 + 13 ⇒ (3, 2) + 13 = 18
1d20 + 13 ⇒ (3) + 13 = 161d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
1d20 + 13 ⇒ (17) + 13 = 301d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Roll to confirm critical...
1d20 + 19 ⇒ (16) + 19 = 352d6 + 13 ⇒ (3, 6) + 13 = 22
Fanged snout tears a large piece of meat from the dwarf's neck and blood gushes like a torrent of water, while at the same time one of its claws finds purchase underneath loose armor plate and tears deep gashes in Sorok's skin.
If I have calculated correctly, Sorok is now at 1 HP.
Solvistania Elghreah |
Solvistania sees the mage drop and realizes that is her cue to advance closer to the battle ground. As she approaches the cluster of mushroom men she readies her spell...

Solvi's spell catches four of the mushroom bodyguards, but three of them manage to wiggle free of the web, as well as the Summoner.
Ilona Ebonblade |
With a wild shriek of fury Ilona'ss dark blade circles above her head to fall, divine vengence decending in s streak of purple flame.

Sorok, Forged of Iron |
"Thanks lass." Sorok says to Ilona as the lizard dissapates. He stoically holds a hand to his neck to try to staunch the bleeding. "Ouch."
Stomping over to Gilian he retrieves his shield from Pebble. "Guess that's wha' I get fer tossing mah shield down. C'n ye do somethin' 'bout this leak ah've sprung?"
nightflier |
Two of the crimson motes flash into a cloud of cinders and a pair of large squat beasts come thundering from the smoke cloud. Their backs are heavily armored in bone plates and spikes and there are three sharp-looking horns on their heads. The beasts roar in anger and take a stand in front of the mushrooms surrounding the Summoner, while he starts retreating.

Solvi's arrow hits the Summoner square between his eyes, but falls on the ground without harming him. He looks at her while departing, with almost a smirk on his alien face.

Chop's sheathes Hope and growls. "You're tougher to hit than I thought. No matter." He lifts up Liberation high overhead, and brings it down at the assassin.
Power Attack 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14
Damage 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14
Offensive tactics to hit. He also will move to flanking position if possible for another +2 to hit.
Gilian |
I've reviewed all the actions from the last rounds, and if I'm not wrong, we're missing actions from Ragnar and Lyj from last round and Duncan, Sorok, Lyj, Ilona et Ragnar this round.
Which gives: Duncan 1 action,
Gilian 1 action,
Sorok 1 action,
Ilona 1 action,
Lyj 2 actions,
Ragnar 2 actions
As the summoner is retreating, if you can all concentrate on the assassin (except Lyj, who is on the mage), we could bring it down. Then Gilian will heal every one in range.
