Tenebrynn squeaks in surprise and is about to slam the door shut without a word and retreat back to her friends when Kyffin startles her further from behind and barges into the building. Regaining her composure, she leans out from behind the half orc to regard the pair. ”Yes, hi. Hello.” She nods to each in turn before ducking back behind Kyffin, feeling strangely ill at ease.

Both radiate faint auras of evil.
"I'm Asa, and this is my acquaintance, Daelene. We've been visiting here for a short time," the man says.
The woman nods.
"Monsters? I'm sure I haven't seen any such thing. Did you have trouble with the statuary? We were warned about them, but they said they were harmless. I'm sure it was just some accident, a lack of a proper introduction, as it were," she adds.
"We were just about to open a new bottle," the man continues. [b]"Take some glasses from the liquor cabinet and relax. Let us pour you all a drink or two. We rarely have visitors to Iris Hill these days. Once we're done talking, I can get a groundskeeper to make sure the topiary doesn't bother you anymore.”

They're crazy. Kyffin thinks to himself, ...but then again, aristocrats always are a bit distant from reality.
"I'm Kyffin, and I don't drink while I'm working. Excuse me, but this Mansion has been overrun, and we're cleaning it out." he brandishes his scimitar lightly, "I'd appreciate it if you'd just sit down all nice and quiet and let us continue with our work. Or is that going to be a problem?"

Tenebrynn adds helpfully, ”Well, there were cannibals and flying tentacle heads in addition to the shrubs. So, I don’t know that a groundskeeper would really help.” Her eyes dart to their cups, wondering if the contents were actually wine.

Updated the overall map -- you're in the building where Tenebrynn's marker is. There is a stairway leading up.
"Working? Did the Count hire you?" the woman asks though they're already sitting.
The man's eyes widen at the gnome's words.
"Cannibals and flying tentacle heads? Oh my," he says. "We haven't seen anything of that sort. Are you sure you don't want to sit for a while? That sounds like quite a lot ... We can open a new bottle."
At that, he gets up and heads over to a cabinet, pulling a dark bottle.
"Here, this one looks good. It says it comes from Cesca..."
Cesca is a settlement in eastern Ustalav, located in the county of Varno.

"Oh yes, but only with you, my heart," she adds. "Still this is hardly appropriate for company. We came to discuss some issues with the count, but found he wasn't in attendance. We thought to wait until he returns."
"And have been rewarded with some fine hospitality," the man finishes, pulling his belt knife from its sheath to break the wax seal and free the cork from the bottle. "Are you sure you won't sit?"
"Please, do sit," the woman entreats you.

Heinrich frowns at Tristain. "I have been called many things, but Pems? That is a name from another place, far away..." He shakes his head to clear the cobwebs. "Arrest them? For hospitality and sexual deviance in the bounds of a heterosexual relationship? Seems a bit Abadarian for my tastes."

Do they have good wine there?” The gnome’s words come out in a rush, as usual, and she shifts into asking about the wine without warning or changing her pitch or intonation, all of it matter-of-fact and almost innocent.

"Cesca? Ah, it's in eastern Ustalav, in County Varno. Come, sit, it's quite a good vintage, I believe."
He pours a glass, holding it out to the gnome ... who feels like she could actually use a drink.

He's about to attack again when Tristain's spell hits him and he turns to his companion, who lets out a cry of pain as she cuts him, though that pain seems to galvanize her enough to prevent Kyffin's spell from taking effect.
As he calls out an apology -- "He controlled my brain!" -- she scowls and casts again, trying to turn the tables on the scholar. Tristain feels something unusual tickling his brain, making it even harder than usual to concentrate. DC 17 Will save or be confused
Confused: A confused creature is mentally befuddled and cannot act normally. A confused creature cannot tell the difference between ally and foe, treating all creatures as enemies. Allies wishing to cast a beneficial spell that requires a touch on a confused creature must succeed on a melee touch attack. If a confused creature is attacked, it attacks the creature that last attacked it until that creature is dead or out of sight.
Roll on the following table at the beginning of each confused subject's turn each round to see what the subject does in that round.
d% Behavior
01–25 Act normally.
26–50 Do nothing but babble incoherently.
51–75 Deal 1d8 points of damage + Str modifier to self with item in hand.
76–100 Attack nearest creature (for this purpose, a familiar counts as part of the subject's self).
A confused creature who can't carry out the indicated action does nothing but babble incoherently. Attackers are not at any special advantage when attacking a confused creature. Any confused creature who is attacked automatically attacks its attackers on its next turn, as long as it is still confused when its turn comes. Note that a confused creature will not make attacks of opportunity against anything that it is not already devoted to attacking (either because of its most recent action or because it has just been attacked).
