Round 3

Elyna steps back and blasts the armored orc again. Her fire hits the enemy, but she starts to notice that fire does not bother the enemy that much, made more evident when the orc did not bother to put out the fire. (Fire resistance of some amount.)

Araden stands by, ready.

Ulrich presses the attack on the armor-clad figure. His sword hits only the plate armor for now.

Pahleg jabs at the orc with his spear over Ulrich's shoulder, but he too only hits the plate.

Kekkle casts a psychic knack on the foe. Will: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11 (Indeed, orcs are dumb.) The Unstoppable is stopped momentarily.
Kekkle's other Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24

Tannan attempts to tumble through the armored foe, but fails. The orc would have surely seized the opportunity to strike Tannan, but luckily Kekkle's knack knocked the contender's knack of killing out.

... The violent enemy pauses.

Araden, Kekkle, and Elyna start to smell some kind of gas in the air. Elyna realizes it to be harmful, and, by virtue of being proficient with fire and sorts of explosives, estimates the gas is not explosive.

Round 4

Elyna lobs another blast of fire at the enemy. With so many people in the way providing cover to the enemy, she misses the armored orc.

Araden begins to back away, advancing towards the exit.

Ulrich does not back away, instead he continues to attempt to harm the invader. He's having difficulty accomplishing that.

Pahleg raises a crackling electric hand, thus calling a thundercloud to strike the orc. Ref: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22 The invader withstands the lightning.

Kekkle prepares to shock an attacker, but so long as Ulrich stands in the way there's no way for the enemy to advance that far, for better or worse.

Tannan follows Araden's lead, backing away towards the exit, away from the stenching gas.

Everyone except Araden and Tannan take 1 Con damage, and...

Fortitudes for everyone:
Elyna: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24
Kekkle: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Pahleg: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14Con damage: 1d3 ⇒ 2

(...Pahleg takes 2 additional Con damage. Aforementioned people, roll Fortitude.)

The enarmored foe coughs in the gas, while still on fire. Burning: 1d6 ⇒ 1 The gas seems to trouble the enemy more than the fire, but it's not enough to stop him: he brings his axe on Ulrich- Melee attack: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16 -who blocks it with his shield. It seems the orc and Ulrich are stuck in battle.

Araden & Tannan:

Tannan's Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23

While moving away from the armored invader in the maze, you notice a shadowy presence in a side tunnel, about 20 feet away from you.

female Gnome Kineticist 4 | HP (45(41)/45) | AC/Touch/Flat 18/14/15 | Fort/Ref/Will +9/+7/+2 | Init +5 | Percep +9

Making decisions for 3 characters is hard. Especially with how the situation looks.

Elyna backs away from the Orc as well, continuing to shoot fire at him. "I don't feel so good, you guys."

Ranged Touch Attack (Elemental Overflow): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18
Damage (Elemental Overflow): 2d6 + 5 - 1 ⇒ (3, 5) + 5 - 1 = 12
Then move 20 ft toward the exit.

Araden stops for a moment: "There's another one this way!"

Raising his bardiche he gets ready to charge. If possible charge toward the new enemy

Damage: 1d10 + 8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 8 + 3 = 13 I assume the numbers in his profile do not include power attack, if they do, then count +1 to the attack roll and -3 from the damage

Ulrich waits for the others to retreat before he disengages and backs off as well, making sure to stay between the Orc and his companions

Delay until Pahleg has moved away and then retreat as far away from the orc as possible as he stays closest to the orc

Tannen, despite better judgement, gets one of his daggers ready to throw at the shadowy thing near him.

Round 5

Elyna backs away from the orc as well, continuing to shoot fire at him. The blast lands a hit, and manages to do some damage in spite of the enemy's resistance to fire.

Araden (charge isn't possible; it looks like the stats in his profile do not include Power Attack) warns the others and then hustles to attack the foe in the hiding. His bardiche swings over the figure clad in shadows, who turns out to be smaller than Araden first expected. The blood-red shadows swirl around and envelop a halfling.

Ulrich stands his ground and continues exchanging blocked blows with the orc's axe. (miss)

Pahleg summons a spiritual longsword to also attack their enemy, to go nicely with the thundercloud. So far it's more a distraction than a lethal threat to the invader, however. Ref: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20 Frighteningly, the armored orc withstands the barrage of lightning.

Kekkle retreats away from the poisonous cloud, unable to participate in the crowded fight.

Tannan clarifies Araden's warning and gets one of his daggers ready to throw at the so-far-unclear shadowy enemy near him.

Fortitudes for everyone:
Elyna: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12 Con damage: 1d3 ⇒ 1

The Unstoppable: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23

(Ulrich takes 2 Con damage, Pahleg and Elyna take 3 Con damage.)

The shadow-clad halfling who Araden tried to chop pleads with him. "Eeeek! Don't hurt me, I beg you!" the female halfling says with a high-pitched voice. "They made me do this! I never-" She stops, kicking Araden mid-sentence in the shin. Dirty Trick (Entangled): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15 Araden is too battle-hardened to fall for this trick, however, and is not bothered at all. The halfling then unsheathes a dagger.

The other invader continues the furious fight with Ulrich. Melee attack: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15 Furious but stale-mate. Burning: 1d6 ⇒ 6 The fire is starting to bother him a little.

Araden wastes no words debating with the threatening invader. Although small, she's proven dangerous and cunning, and so he simply lashes out with his metal-and-leather-gauntleted fist.

I always find myself confused on where to find us on the map. Where are we at? Is it possible to reach the orc with a reach weapon, taking a move action if necessary?

Male Human Medium (Reincarnated) | HP 35/35 | AC 20, touch 11, FF 19 | Fort +4, Ref +3, Will +5 | Init +1, Perception +6 | Lamb, Order of the Sheep

We're not really on the map per se at the moment: we're in the maze, which is a single-file hallway system that can't really be mapped out or it defeats the purpose. Given the pseudo-map GM MG posted at the bottom of his last update, I'd guess you can just stab the orc, since it's just Ulrich between you and him.

Male Aasimar Cleric 4 | AC 15, Touch 10, FF 15 | HP 35/35 | F +7, R +2, W +8 | Init +0 | Perc +5

Round 6

Elyna runs (double move, presumably) to the position behind Kekkle and Tannan. She has no clear line of sight to the second invader, but if she moved a little closer (15-20 ft.) she could.

Araden mercilessly punches the halfling girl with his metal-and-leather-gauntleted fist, dealing a visible injury.

Ulrich coughs and hacks at the orc, continuing the tradition of not misses and blocks.

Pahleg lunges forward to attack while his magic continues to barrage the orc. Ref: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19 The longsword conjured with divine magic lands a blow through the enemy's defenses, though the spear lunge misses, and the orc continues to withstand the lightning cloud, in spite of all probabilities.

Kekkle moves so he can see the enemy Araden just punched, and produces a pyrotechnique to bother her. Will: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6 The trick leaves her dumb-struck.

Tannan stands by. Is it to stand watch, to protect Elyna, or himself, who knows.

The shadow-clad halfling holds her dagger and does nothing else.

The armored orc shows no signs of fatigue in spite of the gas's obvious effects on health. Melee attack: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26 Damage: 1d12 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19 He lands a heavy blow on already-weakened Ulrich.

Round 7

Elyna moves closer to the sound of Araden and the halfling's battle, and gets a line of sight, so she chucks a fire bolt at her. The blast sears the enemy.

Araden shows no mercy for the underhanded halfling lady, and brings his axe on her in a vicious strike. Coupled with the fire blast, the hit is enough to make her unconscious, and more. She gets no chance to say any last words, and vanishes to the shadows.

Ulrich continues to keep the menacing orc occupied, but he starts to notice his swordplay is only that: not an effective threat to the invader.

Pahleg keeps trying his longspear with little effect, but he's more a healer, anyway. The spiritual longsword also struggles to land a blow through the enemy's full armor. The thundercloud is already gone at this point. The aasimar then backs away from the gas cloud, which is fortunately already clearing.

Kekkle notices how brutally Araden destroyed the shadow invader, and conserves his magic abilities. Instead, he heads back to help defeat the other invader.

"Rude." Pahleg places another glowing, albeit less glowy, hand on Ulrich.

CLW: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

Male Human Medium (Reincarnated) | HP 35/35 | AC 20, touch 11, FF 19 | Fort +4, Ref +3, Will +5 | Init +1, Perception +6 | Lamb, Order of the Sheep

"No! We must defend our friend!"

Araden continues to move toward the foe, although the cramped hallway makes it difficult to move with speed. (Another double move toward Ulrich, not sure where exactly that gets me though.)

Male Human Fighter 4, AC 20, Touch 10 (12), FF 19; HP 21/41(47), Fort +8 Ref +1, Will 0; Initiative 0; Perception -2, Bravery +1 (+1 saves vs. fear); Hellfire Private (Order of the Bonfire) 3 Con damage

At 5 hp. We'll see how the next round goes, though I think I have one more round of being on the ground getting wailed on...

Stabilize, if Pahleg can't make it: 1d20 - 6 + 1 ⇒ (1) - 6 + 1 = -4

I'll be at 4 hp when he heals me.

Male Sivis Gnome Wizard 3| HP: 26/26 | AC 11 | Passive Perception: 11 | Spells: 1st 4/4…2nd 2/2

Tannan, despite conventional wisom, moves forward and throws one of his daggers at the raging behemoth.

ranged dagger - cover: 1d20 + 5 - 2 ⇒ (9) + 5 - 2 = 12
damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

(I count two actions missing.)

Male Human Fighter 4, AC 20, Touch 10 (12), FF 19; HP 21/41(47), Fort +8 Ref +1, Will 0; Initiative 0; Perception -2, Bravery +1 (+1 saves vs. fear); Hellfire Private (Order of the Bonfire) 3 Con damage

Kekkle casts Daze again on the orc, hoping to give Ulrich a chance to get up. Elyna hangs back, since she's out of range to throw a fire bolt and doesn't want to block Araden from the front line.

Initiatives:
Elyna
Araden
Ulrich
Pahleg
Kekkle
Tannan
The Unstoppable

Round 9

Elyna hangs back, not wanting to get in the way of the others.

Araden retraces back to the fighting, navigating the maze through a couple turns. (Puts you right behind Kekkle, your distance to the enemy is 20 feet, and you have a line of sight.)

Ulrich does a fine job at bleeding.

Pahleg places a healing hand on Ulrich, which brings him back to consciousness.

Kekkle uses a psychic knack on the raging orc. It has no effect, and Kekkle then remembers that he has already dazed that enemy just a moment ago.

Tannan follows Araden as he turns in the maze, hoping to get a line of sight to the enemy. He does, eventually. (You had to spend a double move to get a line of sight.)

The Unstoppable is clearly just trying to kill someone, anyone at this point, and attacks prone Ulrich again. Attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (6) + 12 = 18 Damage: 1d12 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11 (IIRC being prone gives you a -4 penalty to AC?) Again his large axe knocks Ulrich unconscious and negates all the healing Pahleg just did, but at least Ulrich is still alive.

(entrance <-) XUP (10ft.) KAT (20ft.) E (-> exit)

Male Human Medium (Reincarnated) | HP 35/35 | AC 20, touch 11, FF 19 | Fort +4, Ref +3, Will +5 | Init +1, Perception +6 | Lamb, Order of the Sheep

Araden grimaces beneath his helmet as he sees the enemy ahead, and steps up as quickly as he can, taking a stand over Ulrich's unconscious form and swinging his fist forward. "Begone, foul intruder, or face your better in fair combat!"

Attack: 1d20 + 7 - 1 ⇒ (12) + 7 - 1 = 18
Damage: 1d4 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 7 + 2 = 11

Male Aasimar Cleric 4 | AC 15, Touch 10, FF 15 | HP 35/35 | F +7, R +2, W +8 | Init +0 | Perc +5

"I can do this all day."

CLW: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

Male Human Fighter 4, AC 20, Touch 10 (12), FF 19; HP 21/41(47), Fort +8 Ref +1, Will 0; Initiative 0; Perception -2, Bravery +1 (+1 saves vs. fear); Hellfire Private (Order of the Bonfire) 3 Con damage

Stabilize: 1d20 - 6 ⇒ (3) - 6 = -3

At 3 hp, once Pahleg heals me.

"...urrgh... sweet oblivion.."

(Clearly this fight has gotten increasingly boring for everyone, judging from the drastic decrease in everyone's posting frequency. Here's how it's going to go: The Unstoppable hits Ulrich two more rounds, Pahleg wastes one more CMW and one CLW, and Araden ends the fight with Ulrich still alive. Ulrich is at, let's say -5 hp.)

The fight with the armored invader goes on a few more seconds. The Unstoppable and Pahleg go back and forth on their struggle to decide Ulrich's fate: one landing devastating blows on Ulrich and the other keeping him away from death's door. Eventually, attacks from Araden's cestus put an end to the raging enemy, and The Unstoppable vanishes to shadows like his co-invader.

(The Unstoppable was a barbarian, as you may have guessed, and was also starting to run out of rage rounds.)

Combat over.

Obtained 59 souls.
Obtained 55 souls.

The party also finds a suit of armor and 2 vials of blue substance, left behind by the two invaders.

Item Description wrote:

Osch Plate Armor

A suit of armor from Osch, a duchy impoverished by pillaging crusaders. The plates are folded in untraditional ways; the armor is made mainly for duels.

Standard full plate. Worth 150 souls.

While a lowly soldier or squire would happily don this suit, knights would frown on it, seeing where it came from. Wearing Osch armor is a usually sign that one is either an honorless crusader, or a Cold Osch Knight.

Item Description wrote:

Poison Resin of Blue Whinnis

A vial containing a common poison. Harvested from areas of miasma.

Blue whinnis (poison). Worth 12 souls.
Injury; save Fort DC 14; frequency 1/round for 2 rounds; effect 1 Con damage and unconscious for 1d3 hours; cure 1 save

Ever since the miasma spread above ground there have been an increasing number of people willing to expose themselves to it in order to harvest poisons.
