Hi there, GM wolf sent me a PM a while ago. I'm kinda interested, but I don't know the build rules as I didn't see any on the furst page.
What's the allowed races, alignments, deities, classes and ect?
Got an idea for a gestalt character, but first got to see if it's allowed.
GM Wolf
Invite only, and I had invited like 4 ppl but they have not responded.
Abilities:
I am not a fan of the buy out systems, so roll 5d6 seven times. Taking the three highest of the 5 rolled and adding them together. Six of these will be your stats. Please show the dice rolls on the recruitment page.
One more twist to help your characters to have that little boost to be excellent in what you do. You may take away from one stat and give it to another. But the top stat cannot be more than 18. But only one time.
So for example you have 11 and 15. Take 3 away from 11 and give 15 those 3. So the 11 becomes 8 and 15 becomes 18.
Traits:
2 Traits, and one campaign trait...
Wealth:
3,000 gp but your background story is where you can gain more!
Appearance:
Create a quick blurb about your appearance.
Background:
The more interesting your background story the more bonuses you might stumble upon or requests granted. Make connections between yourself and other NPCs and PCs. After all you will be carving out a kingdom together. Such connections could be nobility, guilds, entities, dragons, magical beasts, gods, societies, towns, the townsfolk, the people in charge, or the simple 'I know you from...', etc.
I've long thought that character backgrounds are where players should offer plot hooks to the DM instead of the other way around, you then have more buy into the campaign.
Make 3rd level characters, with max hit points for 1st level and rolled hit points from 2nd level and on. I reserve the right to have you re-roll your hit points, just work with me.
Gestalt:
You might be asking yourself, "Hey where is the gestalt information." That is a valid question. You can be a multi-class and eventually develop into gestalt that way like our Monk/Shaman. Or be one class and wait for an instance where you gain power to gain another class. I am a very logical DM and hope to have some very magical events with the players. Suggestions are always welcome. You may come in gestalt if you have an 'event' for that reason.
Look at your character sheet and ask yourself: Did I explain why I have that skill?
Why I have that feat?
Why I have a totem?
Etc.
What have you done which has allowed you grow into the level 3 rogue that you are. True, you could say that it is implied but right now that is all you have.
Or you could explain how you got to the Stolen Lands, who did you travel with, make some contacts, maybe connect with a few of the other applicants or just make some up. Did you discover anything on your way in? Did you fight anything, did you save anyone? Why do you have that MW WarAxe? why do you have that mystical item that sprouts flames once a day when you sneeze?
Let your imagination go wild, then once you stop having some ideas, go through them and get rid of the Trolls, Ogres, and Dragons at least the slaying of them. A dragon you met would be fine, though if you fought it you got stuck in a magical gem then. Still temper the imagination with logic. You can run from trolls all you like, but you won't be gaining any XP that way.
Well look at my Alias for GM Wolf.
Then check out the gameplay for the game.
I did have a bad stent of depression and that is the main reason the campaign died for a few months. I am better and back to the game and my life is getting back on route.
I try to post at least once a night, work sometimes takes up my free time as a teacher but that is RL and it gets in the way sometimes. ;)
We have Krafnik a Paladin/Bard, Aurora a fey/fighter?, Krazok a fighter/not sure yet, Selena a ninja/Summoner.
If you think something needs adjusted let me know, I just copy and pasted from the recruitment thread.
Aurora you can start filling out your second class abilities. Just put them in a spoiler for now, or just wait once the fight is done.
Krafnik be ready to level up.
Good night, I will see you tomorrow! Hopefully we will have more show up.

Looks like you could use some kind of full caster. I'll get to brainstorming.
Would you allow one side of a gestalt progression to be made up of a more powerful than usual race, or a template?
I believe that is a Yes, Since I'm a Huldra using a 3PP Racial class. But GM Wolf has final say over it, as there could be restrictions like no templates, just the racial classes from the 3PP source used.
I'll PM you the 3PP source, I used.

Guiys, in the meantime I have mostly decided on what path to take my character on - I am planning half-orc since I want him to have a tribal feel, coming down the mountain in search of his own luck.
I'm gonna slap him with Bloodrager (probably Arcane) as main class, but am still in doubt as to the second - the tribal shamanistic idea sends me to Oracle most likely.
(I have thought about having the second gestalt side as Paladin VMC Cavalier but there is already a Paladin so...).
What do you think? I am also open to other options on race - the Huldra +4 to STR and CHA as well as +2 to DEX would fit quite nicely actually :D

I have more levels to go yet, and taking racial classes does have it's drawbacks.
Aurora Blackrose
Yep, And given how I read the gestalt rules, once you end your racial class levels, the class it is gestalted with must also end.
So going Huldra+Bloodrager means that Bloodrager can not go higher then level 7 no ifs, ands, ors, buts. And you'll need to find a new gestalting pair of classes.
I for example given how I read gestalt rules, will get to fighter 7 with Huldra, then I'll be going with Barbarian+Bard or Barbarian+Rogue at level 8 and up because I can not continue fighter due to Huldra completely being done 100% before fighter did.
So the only way to get a racial class with very high levels in a gestalt pair is to pick a racial class with more then 12 levels, this means racial classes like; giants, outsiders, dragons, etc, not fey.
Or you pick a racial class with fewer then 5 racial levels (i.e Azer, Brownie) and gestalt it with a class you really don't care about.
Aurora Blackrose
I have always wanted to try a Kitsune Nine Tails build that was actually functional. This might be the game to make it work in. Thoughts?
Are you going to spin a number of tails with that character idea...
DM Aron Marczylo
Hi GM Wolf, just want to ask people what people's builds are so far?
I've got a few ideas I'd like to try, thinking perhaps rebuilding a PFS character I like to be a Warpriest/Rogue who is a follower to Lamashtu, but I'm also toying with an idea I have for a Hobgoblin whose backstory is based off the Farscape character Ka D'Argo.
First I'd like to see what I get with the rolls though since I could end up with totally screwed numbers, lol.
5d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 1, 2, 2) = 8
5d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 6, 6, 4) = 23
5d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 3, 6, 6) = 19
5d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 5, 3, 4) = 20
5d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 6, 1, 1) = 14
5d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 2, 6, 4) = 19
5d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 1, 4, 5) = 19
HOLY....umm...okey well options are opretty open from the looks....
I'l give you some background for the two ideas i have here so far. I'll add more as I come up with a few as some are stewing right now:
Born in captivity, Alex's mother was captured by Gnolls before he was born, but she went into labor during a ceremony to Lamashtu, his birth killing his mother in the process and this being seen as a sign to the den mother that he was chosen by Lamashtu.
Though at first he was certainly not as hardy as the Gnolls, often losing to the stronger children, he found ways to get back at them, learning the powers of hiding in the dark and surprising them. He never killed one of his fellow Gnolls, for that was an unforgivable sin to the cult of the mother of madness, but he gave them scars to never forget about.
His native tongue was Gnoll, he studied the common tongue and his human face many hated him for, he found was a great way to help him infiltrate human towns and cities who had not heard the word of the great mother. He was marked by Lamashtu as a chosen one and now blends in with the crowd, pretending to be a holy man leading wayward youths astray, turning their anger at their world to worship or finding new sacrificed ready for the mother.
Born to a Hobgoblin couple in the grand country of Molthune, where his father worked as a member of the auxilery forces for the only reason many of their kind and others such as Werewolves or Nagas would join, to gain citizenship in this great nation and be accepted as equals to all. Atleast, on the surface they were equal to all as there was still a caste system and they were near the bottom with the others.
His father managed to survive long enough to gain citizenship for the entire family, being named Ga'leth Bloodclaw, a family name given by the authorities who give out these randomly generated names to many different species who are added to their growing population. Ga'leth trained to be a Phalanax fighter, a front-row soldier to fight and hunt down those who were in Nirmanthis like many who were raised to believe those in Nirmanthis were trouble-makers and rebels.
He trained with a unusual weapon, a Naginata, it's long curved blade striking fear in those he encountered whilst carrying with him a heavy tower shield and thick armour, making the enemy have a hard time attempting to get close enough to strike him, especially when in formation with similarly heavily armoured soldiers. He soon gained enough experience to be promoted to commander
Back at home, long after his parents had passed he met a young elf woman who commented on his form of combat. He rebuttled at how he was able to keep many at a distance and untouched, but she argued agility paired with knowledge of combat was far more effective. the two got into a heated argument and then drew blades, going at each other with increased skills and danger, but the pair were at a stalemate and laughed it off until she kissed him. He didn't know how to respond, seeing a Elf take such a interest in him, but soon they found themselves regularly training and even getting close, discussing their own lives and even being intimate.
During one of these intimate moments, Janira Eldaren's twin brother, Sorvel burst in on the two and was instantly repulsed by the sight, attempting to kill Ga'leth, but Janira stopped his brother and defied him, giving him a deep cut along his left cheek as a reminder that she was her own woman and it was her decision who she stayed with. This rage proved to control him for many years. The two had married within a few years where Ga'leth took her surname and even had a child with her. Though the thought was terrible to some, the child simply looked half-elf but just a little bulkier like a half-orc child. Besides that he appeared to be a perfectly fine child who it appeared would grow up into a fine family, until the day of the incident.
Ga'leth didn't know, but his brother in law had come over to visit Janira once again to protest against their marriage and their "unnatual" child, but she wouldn't hear any of it. Soon he threatened legal action and that he had a trap set up for him to get rid of him once and for all, but at this Janira launched at him with her blade. Either this was due to her spending her time sitting around with a child, maybe it was due to lashing out with rage, but for whatever reason she didn't manage to hit him, but Sorvel had landed a mortal wound to her, killing her and leaving her dead. At first he panicked, but soon realised this was the best thing to happen and he needed to use an excuse and claim Ga'leth's rage was uncontrolled and a danger to everyone in the city and so he had to beat her dead body, trying to make it look like a fight of explosive rage and smashing various items around the place to make it look like Ga'leth tore the place apart in a rage.
Sorvel, along with a few close and trusted men set this up and had Ga'leth arrested and sentenced to death at the capital, smirking as he sent him on his way, but word reached his ears how his prison was attacked by Nirmanthis troops, hoping to rescue many and bolster their own forced, but Ga'leth could never see him live with people he butchered for years, nor could he return home so he travelled far and wide, searching for anykind of job as a hired sword for the meantime, afraid that he would never find a new place to settle down and that the best thing in his life was lost. Things have not been easy for him considering the view many have of Hobgoblins, but he's made coin either helping defend a town or cutting down thugs dumb enough to pick a fight with him.

@DM Aron Marczylo
I think Aurora would have a very big issue with Alex Riverpoint, mainly due to one giant thing, being a worshiper and messenger of Lamashtu, The mother of all monsters. She hates monsters in her woods, a lot. That and I think PFS wise your not allowed to worship Lamashtu.
I also think that one character will not have any friends, since most of the group are of Good alignment and one is a Paladin.

fair point it was a bit of a reach and had a feeling he probably wouldn't get along when I realised one person was a Paladin, oops.
Also, PFS allows Lamashtu and a few other evil deities. It's something a gaming acquaintance really dislikes, but it is allowed funnily enough. Evil gods that are certainly not allowed are ones like the great old ones.
Like I said, I'll put up a few more ideas as I come up with them...and after taking a walk with the dog I already have two more in mind.
Daughter of pathfinder Aurora Evelyn, Liliya has many of her mother's similar traits with long green hair and violet eyes, but was raised in a tavern her mother and sister co-owned with their various allies/lovers from all over.
Liliya wanted to venture out into the world like her mother, but founded that she instead wanted to travel far and free the many different races held in chains against their will, but soon found herself in Restov where not only did she make quite a bit of coin hanging around and performing songs at various taverns, but using her magical skills both for entertainment and even assisting the odd adventure.
All this said, no adventure had as much of an attraction for her than the exploration south in regards to clear up the bandits of the area. She was also a follower of Arshae and wished to spread her word far and wide, freeing people who are either trapped into their profession due to their gender or looked to as strange.
Julian had no knowledge of this, but when he was a baby he one day appeared in the home of his adoptive parents, up in the trees above one of the cities of Kyonin, Omesta where many of the Gnomes were living up above the elves, to much of their tolerance. Oddly enough the two Gnomes were just discussing about having a child before Julian arrived and most of his life was like this afterwards.
As he grew he had fun playing on the various winches and bucket system, speeding around and causing accidents, but his sighting disturbed the Elves who assumed him to be a kidnapped Elf child and the authorities had to step in, but soon learnt what had happened and demanded that he come to the grand magical school to gain control of his powers, but he ended up causing chaos in the school.
As he went there he made a mockery of his uniform by sowing in random decorative patches, colouring his hair in many different bright colours and attempting to flirt with both female and male students at this prestigious school. However, he had a natural talent with his blade and dodging attacks from many attackers at once.
As he came of age, his father revealed to him that when Julian arrived in their lives, he had this amulet on him with a strange ancient insignia. The parents asked about and this was the arms for a noble family who tried to settle the lands far to the East, sometimes known as the "Stolen Lands" by the natives, however the Elven attempted take-over failed thousands of years ago so they have no idea where Julian came from. One wizard theorized somekind of magic mix up had it where he was stuck in stasis for hundreds of years and the teleportation only completed later as it broke through whatever spell power was trying to hold him there. Given this information, Julian headed to Restov to find some connection or passage to travel into these strange lands.
P.S. What level are you all at?

During the passing years though, the heir to the house, a headstrong young man, grew jealous of his father’s affection for Aleksand. The young man began claiming that Aleksand was trying to take his position as heir to the family. Upon hearing such accusations the family laughed and told him to 'grow up'. Persistent was this young man though, and he escalated with a claim one evening in the middle of the night that Aleksand had tried to use magic on him. Now it was well known that Aleskand had some minor ability to move objects and other small things around, but it never grew to more than that, maybe that was why he was a passable archer. The family, irritated at the young man’s claims, told him that enough was enough. But, his thick-headedness knew no bounds and he challenged Aleksand to a duel. Despite the family's feelings, tradition tied their hands and they had to relent and allow it. The next morning on the field stood Aleksand facing death for he could not match the young man’s martial prowess. As the duel started Aleksand threw down his sword bravely and humbly saying, 'Do what you will to sate your hatred for me!' Enraged the young man charged Aleksand only to be stopped by his father’s words. The father, accepting the tradition and his son’s position, presented an option to spare the life of Aleksand. He proposed that Aleksand be exiled in return for his life. Caving to his family’s wishes the young man agreed. Aleksand was cast out with many heart-warming goodbyes and was supplied enough to get him far enough away for the young man’s liking.
Days of traveling passed. As Aleksand began to run low on rations when he was waylaid by a group of bandits. Seeing that Aleksand had little they were about to kill him when his pleas for life won out and his execution was stayed for one day. The next morning the bandit group’s leader allowed Aleksand to defend his life. Aleksand then explained his proficiencies with horse keeping and bows and minor ability of telekinesis. Within no time Aleksand found a place among the thieves. He had found a new family. Aleksand spent some time with the bandits sometimes even devising some of the plans that succeeded greatly. Deep inside Alesand knew that it was time for him to move on and he left the bandits with promises of visits. Venturing toward civilization, Aleksand found himself in a place called Oleg’s Trading Post and soon found and adventure that could be worth his time and here he stands before you,” and with a sweep of his arms a proud elf stands before the small crowd, his clearly worn, travel cloak over his lean, wiry form. As the Elf stands he has meager possessions except a tall thin wooden staff with a bowstring tied just short of the top and a quiver on his back.

thoughts anyone? I quite like the Hobgoblin character, but looking at what we have so far Liliya might be better due to her healing output as it seems the group is low on the healing, but Julian might use a cleric with the second class, not certain. Eitherway, I'm curious as to your thoughts.
GM Wolf
DM Aron Marczylo, sorry I didn't take the time to check out the first submission. I am happy to go with either of your other submissions. Hobgoblin? I thought Julian was an elf, but then again I look it over and it is never stated.

Yeah Julian is an Elf, but one of the first submissions, Ga'leth Eldaren, was a Hobgoblin. Phlanax Fighter so he'd effectively be a large tank to draw aggro :D
GM Wolf
Ah gotcha Aron.
Someone please make a list of the submissions and applications! Include player, character name, character classes, and that should do it.
Alexand, please have a link for your Special Qualities or spoiler them in your crunch. Make a list of contacts and how much involved you are with them and something that they might help you with. Connect yourself with someone already in play or with someone else coming in. I don't see any traits, you get two and a campaign trait.
Doomed Hero
GM, are you allowing Fighters to have Combat Stamina in this game?
Doomed Hero
Ok, I have a build in mind.
I'm looking at a Kitsune Martial Master Fighter combined with a Warsighted Oracle of the Dark Tapestry with the Wrecking Mysticism curse.
There's not a lot of synergy between the classes, but my concept pretty much requires that combo. Turns out there aren't a lot of functional 9 Tails builds out there that I can do with other classes.
Alexand
I got the spoilers in the crunch, but am at a loss for contacts. I have never played Kingmaker. The list of npcs are just names to me. I will start diving into the play thread.
EDIT: Oh, also, do I need to have the second half of gestalt decided yet?
Doomed Hero
Oh, sure.
Martial Master Basically just a fighter with Martial Flexibility.
Warsighted basically just an Oracle with Martial Flexibility.
Wrecking Mysticism, the Oracle Curse that gives Magical Tail feats instead of bonus spells.
Nine-Tailed Scion is a trait that lets you trade fighter feats for magical tails.
The combination will let me get the Magical Tailed feats quickly and have enough other stuff at my disposal that I won't be just a guy with tails and nothing else.
Doomed Hero
My plan is to combine Realistic Likeness with a high bluff skill, Many forms (Dark Tapestry ability) and Martial Flexibility to play a character who can shape shift into anyone or anything and approximate their combat style and mannerisms.
Think Taskmaster mixed with Mystique and Beast Boy.
5d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 4, 1, 5) = 21 16
5d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 4, 6, 5) = 27 18

5d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 1, 1, 6) = 13 11

5d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 5, 1, 5) = 17 15
5d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 4, 1, 1) = 18 16
In attribute order that's

The main characters you might know would be Oleg, Selena (active NPC), Krazok my main NPC, Krafnik, or Aurora. Your best bet would be Krazok or Krafnik, you might want to PM them to get an idea how.
Actual contacts might be someone in Restov that you have helped or are in a guild with, or something of the like. Look up contacts in the PRD.

Unfortunately, all pc's and npc seem to be on the straight and narrow and Alexand is from the bandit reaches. I'm also unsure as to what PRD you are referring,
EDIT: I'm beginning to think that there might not be an easy in for Alexand coming from a brigand background

From the looks of it your group needs a healer so I may play Liliya Evelyn Bard(Sound Striker/Song Healer)/Cleric. If that's ok with all of you?
She's a follower or Arshae and is CG so should get along somewhat well with most of you, plus she'd be dealing out a lot of healing potential too.
Edit: GM, what are your thoughts on drawbacks? Do you allow for them or not?
Re-Edit: Just realised I've been misreading what you said about the numbers so I'm going to go over them again:
5d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 1, 2, 2) = 8 = null
5d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 6, 6, 4) = 23 = 18

Also you can use the brigand background if you really want, though will you be using that to come into the campaign or just for flavor and reason for being in the area?
My quick general read over Stanima Points is positive. I will rely on you heavily as you likely know the system. Please bring it up with the group once they are assembled here in discussion. I will leave it up to a vote and make a deciding vote if there is a tie.
Aurora and Krafnik, please PM your thoughts on player and character submissions.

Thank you for the opportunity. GM, should I set up my gestalt side?
The reason for the brigand helps describe both my location and the background for my character (starting out homeless).
EDIT: I also got some contacts. They are at the bottom of the profile. Is that what you were looking for?
