Kalima Raustald

She crosses her arms and gives a disappointed look at Happs. Letting such a man to live only shows weakness and creates a liability. It appears this group values very little her input and begins to regret teaming up with them. They have no respect of those of higher authority.
| Robert Jones-DM-King Maker |
Happs continues to grin widely "No letters sorry friend. But she normally brings one to me a few days after I get back to camp after our monthly raids here. I can bring it to you when I get it if you like? would you guys like a share of the takes we get here? Its easy money and more than enough to pay for your keep at the bandit camp too" He looks at you as if he is desperate for you to say yes
| Evard d'Garess |
We would actually, very much like to meet her in person. Where does the letter carrier meet you again? Evard asks, trying to get a little more information out of the man. Do your men here know? And is the camp you mean the fort where the Stag Lord resides, or a second camp closer to here?
Evard glances at Kalima, silently asking for a few minutes more. Well, we now know that Happs will be getting a letter within a few days, but I don't know if Happs has a separate camp than the Stag-Lord where Kressel sends her letter
-Anyone else have questions to ask? sorry for the delay
| Darruth |
Darruth bends down towards him, "Listen, my friend, you are not betraying her. We'll just be the second messenger between you guys. After all, the wilderness is a dangerous and something might happen to him. You can never know."
Bluff: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
| Robert Jones-DM-King Maker |
Despite the parties best efforts they manage to get no more information from Happs even in his temporarily passive state.
so what's next guys? Head out and explore? Spend the rest of the day at olevs it is currently 11am let me know when you can because I'm am away the weekend doing a zombie survival weekend so I'll try to a large post tonight for you all
Kalima Raustald
|
I will also be away this weekend due to Cangames. I've got 3 games to run and a lot of games to play
Kalima sees that Happs won't give them any more information and says, "He's no longer useful to us in terms of information and will likely try and kill Oleg at his first opportunity. And the last thing we want is these ruffians taking over the outpost while we are away. Lets hang the bastard and get on to finding where the other brigands are hiding."
| Evard d'Garess |
Evard nods, saying, Lialda, if you would remove your charm? when the charm falls and Happs returns to his normal self Evard tells him, You have betrayed your beloved Kressel to us even having rejected our offer of clemency. As is the directive of our charter you are bound to be executed for your crimes by beheading or hanging. As your final request you may choose the method of your execution which shall be carried out immediately. While it is your choice where our not to accept your fate, you may pray to your goods and for with dignity as your final act. With his decision made Evard will carry out the execution, opting for beheading if Happs does not cooperate.
The deed done, Evard says, Oleg, the men will bury their fallen leader and get to work for you. and to the bandits Evard makes them swear You have been given a second chance. There will not be a third. Swear your most solemn oath that you will work your time faithfully
He asks Svetlana for provisions and will fill a pack ready to set out.
Evard is ready to catch up with Raegun. Did the bandits have horses out are we moving out on foot?
survival: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10 to track Raegun as he is not trying to hide his tracks and we can share our info. I'm good to explore.
| Robert Jones-DM-King Maker |
The bandit leader snarls at the party when charm is removed and spits at Evard when he offers him a choice of exucution. The party decided on beheading they lead happs to a stump at the back of the olegs and place his head on it the other bandits looks on in horror as Evard brings his blade down on happs neck, happs holds his stern look still just before the sword falls for then it turns to one of fear. It takes two chops to get the head which causes quiet a mess and one of the bandits to spew. Olegs asks the party if he can take the head and put it on a pike on the wall of the fort to warn off some of the more cowardly bandits the party agrees and he does this. The party gather up their things and the bandits horses and head south after Raegun, Evard leading the way. As you ride south you see a vast forest to your west but south where you are following Raegun's tracks there is nothing but open grass land as you press on the sun begins to move across the sky the others looks up to see it about 4p.m when suddenly Evard stops them. They all look out to see a 200ft animal grave yard the bones of deer, boars and even human litter the ground of this area.
Kalima Raustald
|
Kalima pleased to see that fool executed says to the other bandits after the end of the execution. "You now know the fate of defiance. You had better behave yourselves or you yourself will be next on the chopping block"
As for the travel, it goes unevenly but she is somewhat ill at ease at the pile of bones in the area. Nonetheless she says, "This may be an old camp for the bandits. We should search for clues and tracks."
Lialda Oso
|
Lialda looks somewhat confused at Kalimas comment, as they stare out across the boneyard.
"I'm not an expert on bandits, but I don't see those men living in an enormous animal graveyard. Of course, you seem to be an expert on bandits so I'll bow to your expertise."
There is an obvious tone of sarcasm to Lialda's voice, the distaste of the bandits execution still lingering in her mouth.
| Evard d'Garess |
slight ret-con
Kalima, thank you for your patience. We have a name for the vile bandit woman thanks to Lialda's charms. Information which me may not have had the opportunity to extract. the soldier says to the young Lady as he readies to execute Happs.
After the messy affair, such manufactured weapons never quite set naturally for the soldier, Evard approaches Lialda and says, I am sorry for what had to be done. But your magics got us valuable information that may be of great use to Oleg and in keeping these lands safe. Happs' death was by law, and the law must be harsh when dealing with evil men like him as he draws others to his cause. Death of those that threaten the safety of the people, and prey on the weak is the price that we must pay for the safety of the people, hoping that the elfen priestess can at least accept this as some consolation even if it brings no comfort.
In the Freakie-deekie boneyard
Hem... I wonder if Raegun stopped here for a spell. This area is strange and unnatural-seeming... Evard notes, hoping to engage the ladies
Evard is not a Knowledge guy so...
perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
Kalima Raustald

Kalima takes a glace at the piles of bones and the area looking for any obvious clues although clueless in the aspects of proper tracking and spotting ambushes.
Perception: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (13) + 0 = 13

Evard leads the party through the eerily silent grave yard of bones when suddenly A spider the size of a man dashes silently from the depths of its hidden trap door quickly sprinting toward him
stabbing bite: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
It attempt to Evard fail and it quickly scuttles back down it's door
Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Kalima Raustald

Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Knowledge Nature (Untrained): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Kalima on her turn will move within 30 feet and shoot a bolt of acid at the creature (acid splash).
Acid Splash touch AC attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19 (or 15 if shooting into combat)
Acid Damage: 1d3 ⇒ 2

Darruth 30ft away from the door aims his crossbow at the spider wait for it to show its head. Evard moves up to the trap door and opens it as he does the spider strikes
AOO: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 171d4 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
the spider latches it self on to Evards neck
Kalima instantly reacts to the danger and fires a blob of acid at the spider, the spider gives out a high pitch squeal but continues to hold on to Evards neck. The spider begins to chew on Evard as it is stuck to his neck
Consume: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
can Evard make a fortitude save please. at the moment you are being grappled by the spider. Lialda can take her action too
Kalima Raustald

Kalima Raustald on her next turn continues to attack the spider creature with more acid if it is not dead already from other people's counter-attacks.
Acid Splash Touch Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
damage: 1d3 ⇒ 2
| Darruth |
Seeing his companion being attack by the spider, Darruth fires a bolt at it in hopes to kill it.
Attack Roll: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 5
Evard, your con modifier should have giving you +3 to your health. So you should be at 0 if the consume is damage. Your still in bad shape, but it beats dying.
| Robert Jones-DM-King Maker |
Darruth I forgot to roll your damage for first attack so you can roll another attack for round 1 too, the consume is damage. this thing is hard for level 1 guys. I had to downgrade it because it was originally d10 I suppose the problem with kingmaker is you can run into any difficulty challenge at anytime, but this is really close to olevs. I'm gonna take Lialda round one action for her
Seeing the spider bite deep into her companions neck Lialda grabs her holy symbol and lets forth a wave of pure healing energy
Burst heal: 1d6 ⇒ 2
poison: 1d3 ⇒ 1 can you take 1 point of strength damage also Evard
| Evard d'Garess |
I got a long day tomorrow, so as not to hold anyone up, imma try an toss an attack
First we'll spend a swift to enter Tiger Stance, to build good habits...
Evard draws his longsword and slashes at the spider at his throat
1d20 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (13) + 4 - 2 = 15 grapple penalty accounted for
for 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
If there is any reason he can't draw a blade or would suffer an AoO or something for it he uses an Unarmed Strike for 1d3 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 not provoking due to Improved Unarmed Strike feat
| Robert Jones-DM-King Maker |
round 2 actions
Darruth reloads his crossbow and fires another shot into the spiders torso causing it to cry out in pain. Evard struggles against the spider as it continues to latch on his neck he draws his sword and slashes at it managing to slice its under belly some of its green blood drips on to him but the spider still struggles on. Kalima fires another blob of acid at the spider causing it to screech out but it still refuses to die and keeps on fighting. Lialda send out another healing wave of energy Healing Burst: 1d6 ⇒ 3. The Trap door spider continues to attack Evard as it hold on for dear life Consume: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7Can you make another fortitude save please Evard
Kalima Raustald
|
Kalima Raustald shoots Evard with a blast of holy fire hoping to seal his wounds further so he recovers. Divine Fire ranged touch: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
If he is good, he heals 1d4 ⇒ 3 damage. If he's neutral it has no effect. If he's evil it inflicts that amount as divine damage.
| Evard d'Garess |
Since Kalima healed me this round would I be able to take an attack or have delayed until she had the chance to get the Heal off?
If i can act after the heal instead, Evard draws his dagger
Dagger: 1d20 + 5 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 5 - 2 = 20
for 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
| Robert Jones-DM-King Maker |
Round 3
Darruth shoots his crossbow but in the chaos of battle the bolt shoots wide and hits the trapdoor with a thud.
Kalima holds out her hand and blast of divine fire shoots out and hit Evard kniting close some of the wounds made by the spider.
Evards eyes shoot open as he is brought round by Kalims ray with almost lightening reactions he grabs his dagger and slashes at the the spider opening up its guts a spilling green blood out every where
Combat Over
Well done guys that was hard one. be easier when everyone is able to post and also now that your Level 2 that right level up guys also your current location is below
Kalima Raustald
|
Kalima looks disgusted at the creature "Such a hideous looking beast that creature is. Fortunately with our skills we were able to take down that terrible creature. Well done my friends. Unfortunately I can not heal you further today Evard. My divine fire can heal the wounds of the righteous but I have noticed that additional applications in the same day do nothing. You will have to rely on Lialda to mend the rest of your wounds."
I will also take average hit points as I don't trust the die
| Evard d'Garess |
can we add our new HP to our current HP? Also average HP like PFS? or average like animal companion style?
"Worry not Kalima. I am most grateful for you magic. That is a most interesting ability you have. I am glad that I was not found wanting." Evard says to the sorceress.
"and of course, thank you Lialda, you kept me going." he adds with muted respect.
"It may seem cynical, but this beast seems rather dangerous, and I suspect that it has successfully captured others as well. Perhaps we can examine it's pit and see if any of it's previous victims had any valuables."
The man is rather fidgety and appears visibly uncomfortable after the fight, so much so that before doing anything else he removes his armor aand stretches slightly, loosening up. Don't mind me
Since I've got some Monk Madness going on I'm better off w/o my Leather Armor.
| Robert Jones-DM-King Maker |
The spider’s lair is a 5-foot-diameter, 15-foot-deep shaft. The thick webbing along the walls makes it relatively easy to clamber up and down the shaft DC 10 Climb check Although the spider often cleans out the skeletons that accumulate within its den, it hasn’t done so for a week or so and a few bodies still remain at the bottom of the shaft, including the body of a dead bandit, still dressed in leather armor and carrying a short sword and 10 gp. He also wears about his neck a silver Stag Lord amulet worth 20 gp.
| Darruth |
Darruth climbs down the to the bottom and relieves the dead bandit of his valuables. It will be more of use to them than to this guy.
Climb: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
While checking the bandit for valuables, he found a parchment that looks like of those treasure maps told in stories. He does not know where it suppose to be and the bandit is certainly not telling him where it is, but he decide to keep it anyways. It might be of good use in the area.

Kalima lets Darruth go down and does not follow him. She waits until the hole is searched and she he returns with the items, she observes what he has brought up. She looks at the map and says, "Humm, perhaps this map is where the bandits make their base camp. We aught to keep our eyes out for a matching landmark."
