I'd say that anytime you land 12 points over thanks to rolling 3d6 a bunch of times is a definite win.

Thanks for fleshing out the numbers.

Thanks! I'll be reading after work tonight.

If needed and approved by the GM I would not mind rolling a sorcerer or wizard if nobody ends up submitting a arcane spell caster and I can withdraw :-(, Monroe if I have too and if it would help the party.

I'd prefer if you only entered one character, just for the sake of my sanity. Go with the one you like.

I find myself real interested in a PBP setting, suddenly.

Let's see what the "dice" have for me:

3d6
3d6
3d6
3d6
3d6
3d6

That's actually a nice set of numbers. Better than a 15 point purchase would get me, though purchased attributes would tend to have far more even attribute numbers than odd!

15, 14, 13, 13, 11, 9.

Kingmaker.

I'll do a little reading of the player guide and then try to turn that into a character.

Edit: Character concepts dancing through my head right now include:

Bard - just because I haven't used this class in a while
Fighter - No strength, whip-based battlefield control
Sorcerer - pyromaniac gnome
Witch - elements or wisdom - hex'n'cackle

No real preference for a race exists, yet.

Any requests? More for a class or build focus than race, mind you. Doesn't mean I'll build that, but it is nice to see what people want to have in the group.

Bummer about the move, but hope it goes well. If accepted, please PM me when you think you'll be off grid.

Noted. Thanks.

I will try that mythic weavers thing and post a character sheet... sometime in the next 48 hours. It is 8am here, and I have some running around I have to do during lunch break, and I am heading to the fiances house tonight.

BTW since my guy is deaf I'm assuming we can use the deaf guidelines from PFS about reading lips (within 10ft no check if visible lips and know the language "read lips" and the language spoken is known?) And further out perception checks or what not. If not, let me know how it's being handled because it's a rough mystery/curse

I appreciate the sympathy, but I applied for the promotion and location, so I can say I did this to myself.

Unless something goes horribly wrong, I will never be off the grid. I might be limited to using my tablet in public wi-fi spots for a few days, but you've indicated you prefer more concise posts, anyway.

I've been toying with character ideas, and seem to have settled on an Archivist Bard (though an Aldori Duelist Fighter had my attention for a little while).

I have two flavors I've been toying with, but one may or may not fit into your concept for the campaign.

Catfolk.

The story justification for the race choice is that the character was raised as a noble family's exotic slave, and with the limited freedom provided to such slaves, the racial curiosity was focused into books and stories. With the number of House Lebeda characters already submitted, I could easily assign ownership to that House, and the bard would be sent along as gear to assist any selected House Lebeda PCs.

The human promises to be no less interesting, with me waffling between campaign traits of Bastard and Noble Born.

I haven't picked a favorite, yet, but if the catfolk is outside of how you envision the group, I should stop spending time on that concept.

Hello. A bit new here (and to Pathfinder in general), but I was wondering if there was room for one more?

Dante0: None of us have been selected as of yet. You can apply by providing a fleshed out character, prior to the deadline of January 31st, noon eastern time, I believe it is. This threads first post describes all you should need to know, and you can use the rest of the applicants characters as examples.

Greetings, I'm new to Pathfinder and to Play-by-Post, but have played a fair bit of D&D in my time. Anyway I'll give this a shot if you're willing to put up with a beginner ;)

3d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 3) = 10
3d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 4) = 8
3d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 5) = 12
3d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 1) = 8
3d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 3) = 14
3d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 1) = 10

Hmmm pretty average but I'll see what I can make of it

Howdy, I'm a rank beginner at play-by-post too and thought I'd throw my hat in the ring with some rolls.

3d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 6) = 13
3d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 1) = 7
3d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 4) = 12
3d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 5) = 13
3d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 1) = 9
3d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 6) = 16

:) well its looking like an interesting fellow already - I was thinking of an arcane character so will have a browse and see what can build.

Alias updated. Orodreth ready :)

I'd love to play but considering this is my FIRST POST I think I'll leave kit to the professionals until I learn character creation and the dice rollers.

A couple of notes on dice rolling . . ..

You MUST use the little "d" and not a capital "D" in the designation ("3d6"). I keep getting that one wrong, over and over and over again, honestly.

The web page remembers the results you are provided, and will not change them. This means that you can type in the die rolls, hit preview, and then finish your post based on the results you see in the preview. It also means that if you choose/need to edit your post for some reason, the numbers won't change on you.

This is important, since editing a post is frequently far more productive and less intrusive on everyone else's suspension of disbelief than adding an additional post to try to alter what you already posted. Please note that there is a time limit on how long after making a post that you can edit it. I know I tend to do a lot of typo editing post-posting.

Story editing after other people have started responding is just rude. Thing is, once you submit the post, you have no idea when somebody else STARTS to respond . . .. So, story edits on recent previous posts are not generally a good idea.

Thanks. If you just want to use e Alias here on the boards, that's fine too, Mythweavers isn't required.

Is recruitment still open?

3d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 6) = 12
3d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 1) = 7
3d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 5) = 10
3d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 4) = 9
3d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 6) = 13
3d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 3) = 12

I think its safe to say I will be using point buy to make a character. I see a catfolk and a kitsune is already in the running so I will likely tilt toward human or gnome. Unless another catfolk would be welcomed.

Liberty's Edge

Thanks for all the advice, this blog seems like a bunch of genuinely nice people, unlike my tabletop at home.
@KMGM Would it be alright if I made a character on this feed as a test run?

That makes as much sense as any for that race, so I'll keep it in mind.

Yep, still open. Feel free to Point Buy. It's more about whether the character has a good reason for being there than if the race has already been submitted.

Sure, I'd be happy to offer comment on your creation.

Heh. I JUST got some feedback from a couple of guys in the Face-to-Face group that I'm about to leave, and they both liked the catfolk idea. One of them said the character should be female if I do that, but he knows I don't gender-bend, so I don't know if he was serious or harassing me.

Those 3 pieces of feedback combined lead me to trying to flesh/finish out the catfolk version instead of the human version. I honestly hadn't made up my mind until now, and have been sketching the two concepts out in parallel.

Yes, I expect that my odds of being selected are reduced by the choice of submitting a catfolk. <shrug> you always need to submit something you want to play, or there's not much point in making the submission.

Good roll! I think I'll be writing up a Human Inquisitor! Maybe an Andoran Robin Hood

Wow how many are there now?

and still mire coming.

Gonna be a tough choice good luck all.

Starting Cash roll
3d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 6) = 16 x 10 = 160gp

I am working on a Gnome Bard aiming toward arcane trickster.

My best character was an expert/commoner gestalt. Farmer Joe Brown of the Tri-County area. He lead the three hundred into battle numerous times, against the undead constructs of the lich king.

Liberty's Edge

I have noticed an utter lack of divine healing so as of now I begin work on Sir Gerik ir'Selmen, retired combat medic of the the great Andoran army. He will be put up tonight for your consideration in the actual Play-by-Post.

I definitely encourage folks to create fun characters they are interested in playing. I'll keep an eye out for the submission.

Yes, let's go with the PFS rules on this. I've yet to review them, since I don't really play PFS anymore, but would be happy to take a look. I'll let you know if I think there's anything silly about it, but yes, read lips is a reasonable "language" to take.

Can I roll the stats for the oracle also? I've got the tiefling gunslingers stats rolled, but got to thinking about rolling em for the oracle.
