Submitting this character for consideration. Was made for an evil Kingmaker, but the GM just kinda disappeared after making the choices. Its been over two weeks so Im moving on, thus the application here.
The character is written up as Lawful Evil, but can easily be played as Lawful Neutral, so just ignore alignment for now if Evil is a nono.

I'm about halfway through reviewing all the submissions. So many people and such rich backgrounds! I keep getting ideas for how various characters could fit into the customized background I have set up. I'm heading out to do some late night work for a few hours, but should finish the selection process before noon tomorrow.
Aldarion the Sage |
A robed half-elven man is seated nearby in meditation. An eye opens to observe the dramatic, effeminate man in red. With a furrowed brow, a slight smile forms on his face. The smile widens as he spots the Garundi man's chestnut horse copy the other man's circular movement. Then his own white and black andalusian neighs at the dramatic duo in confusion.
The sage now fully opens his other eye. Turning his attention to Sikandir, he politely states, "No trouble at all, good sir."
Closing his eyes, he returns his attention once more to his meditation. And he continues to smile...
Durielle Omenstar |
A pale, wan elf looking very frail peaking out from under her hood approaches on a dappled grey mare.
"Kind, sirs. I am looking for the way to Stolen Lands. I...I'm afraid I may have lost my way." The elf places a hand to her eyes and gives her head a little shake.
"I feel that I may have been here before, but...it might just be a memory of a different time."
Looking around at the others who have happened to this limbo place, she frowns. "You all look familiar as well...as if we have met, but then we haven't...I'm sorry. My visions of time are not at all as convenient as one would wish."
Märche Novak |
At the pale elf's questioning Märche stops in his tracks. "Dunno, I was just following everybody else, I hope they're all going into the Stolen Lands. If you want though you could probably ask one of the squirrels. They're really good with directions, they may make fun of your weight, but they never lie!"
Durielle Omenstar |
Durielle turns to look at the rather energetic woman.
"Indeed much can be learned from observing animals, those alive...and those passed on from this world." An oddly dark look passes over the elven woman's face. But her face brightens, and she gives a soft smile. "Even nature itself can give us answers to the future if we know how to look."
The last is barely said, and the elf begins to cough roughly, a wet rattle in her throat. Producing a darker cloth from under her white cloak, Durielle covers her mouth and then wipes her lips.
"Forgive my illness. I can reassure you that it is not one I can pass on to others." Returning the handkerchief out of sight, Durielle lifts her hand in greeting to Marche and the others present.
"My name is Durielle Omenstar. I hope our acquaintance will not be temporary."

Wait, did I forget anything? Time to inventory.
Sword? Check.
Chakrams? Check.
Clothes? Do I need... Wait already wearing them. Check.
Bunny eared headband? Check.
Scarf? Check.
Icon of the most benevolent Fertile Flame? Check.
Lantern? Check.
Oil to burn in said lantern? Check.
Bag with other assorted stuff? Check.
Flute? Check.
Think that's everything.

I have the list whittled down to 9 people now, and I'm pretty certain that I'm going to end up selecting 6 altogether, and just need to make the painful decisions on which three characters not to accept. It was really hard just narrowing things down that much, and I've already rejected characters who, in my opinion, were stronger submissions than I have seen accepted into other campaigns.
At any rate, I'm going to sleep on it, and post the final selections in the morning when I'm well-rested and hopefully feeling ruthless enough to get the list down to 6.
(No, I'm not going to say which 9, that would be cruel to the three I don't have room for and will have to not accept.)

Sikandir |
Sikandir gapes at the gnome. A moment passes before he speaks.
"We do not give our horses ale to drink," he says, shaking his head in amazement.
He surveys the group that has assembled, looking a bit too long at some of the women, and then looking away too quickly.
"I am Sikandir," he says. "And this is Roxana."
The mare rears up a little, hearing her name, and the small Osirian moves with her as naturally as breathing. He might be a bit awkward socially, but on his horse he is all grace.
Xelani Fyodorova |
“Hush Katryona. I’ve heard that too” the half-elven woman whispers, as she cautiously dismounts the silver mare.
“Bandits? Before even reaching the Stolen Lands?” Actually, she isn’t that sure about that last bit. Embarrassingly enough, she has only recently begun to admit that she might very well be lost. Or at the very least, running in circles for the last couple of hours.
That’s what you get for neglecting to spend any points in survival, I guess
Slowly approaching, she starts to make up, vaguely at first, and then more clearly as soon as she draws nearer, five figures apparently standing in the middle of the road.
“An elf, a half-elf, a gnome, a southerner, and an exotic looking human the likes of whom I’ve seldom seen. All headed towards Oleg’s Post, by the looks of it. Well, either they’re the most strangely assorted bunch of bandits I’ve ever seen, or they’re quite likely to be my future companions”.
She immediately feels a pang of guilt at having referred to them as mercenaries in the Swordlord’s presence. “Even looking at them from a distance, they all seem nice folk. Intriguing even. They must all have interesting stories to tell”.
She wastes no time in introducing herself. “Well met, travelers. Xelani Fyodorova, bound for Oleg’s Post, at your service”.
Eserelda |
As Esmerelda walked down the streets, she saw a crowd. She ran a pained hand through her multicoulored hair, curoius about them. In the middle of the crowd was a beautiful horse. She smiled and walked up to the group.
"Beautiful horse. I have something for whoever owns the horse." With a gentle smile on her face, she grabbed into her bag. Moments after shuffling through, she found a small stone stature of a horse. "Made this just the other day. How serendipidous that I would meet someone with such a gorgeous horse. Its as if Shelyn herself carved this one out of clay and breathed life into her."
She turned to the rest of the group and waved. "Hello all of you. My name is Esmerelda; may Shelyns blessing be apon you." She gave each of the others flowers.
Paza |
Paza... that's a little creepy. :P
If both of our characters are selected, why do I get the feeling that at some point, my character will wake up to yours hovering inches from her face, staring intently with half-feral eyes?
Nah, that's just me looking at the posting time. ^^
Heh... The only reason Paza would be checking out your nose with feral interest would be if something amusing had happened to it.Xelani Fyodorova |
Somewhat taken aback by the unexpectedness of the graceful gesture, Xelani only manages to stutter a timid “Thank you” to the charming young lady.
Unwilling to spoil it by thrusting it into one of her pockets, she eventually resolves to intertwine it into her hair. “Well, how do I look?” she asks, feigning frivolity.
Aldarion the Sage |
Now standing and tending to the packed saddle bags upon his andalusian mare, the half-elven man in tan and brown robes takes a moment to turn towards his new company. With hand over heart, he nods to all, "Well met. Aldarion, at your service. And," he gestures to the mare beside him, "this is Bessy." Taking her cue, Bessy nickers softly in greeting.
Curiously, while his relatively neat but simple peasant garb may indicate otherwise, Aldarion has the mannerisms and vocal distinction of one above his apparent station.
Concerning the subject of getting lost, the horseman assuages any fears as he straps up one of his companion's saddle bags. "I am on my way to the trade post as well. Fear not, for, if it pleases you to follow me, I know the way."
Aldarion turns his attention to the fair elven lady as she coughs. "My lady, have you had that looked after? If I might be so bold, I am a well trained healer. It would be my pleasure to examine your condition before setting off to the south?" His polite demeanor betrays no baser intentions; he seems genuinely concerned for the lady's welfare, despite her beauty.
On reception of a flower from the newcomer, Aldarion smiles. "You are most gracious, gentle lady. I thank you kindly." Aldarion takes a slight bow. He then secures the flower in his mare's mane, and smiles again at Eserelda.

Okay, I gave some consideration to just running two groups, but I think I should get a fair bit more experience with running PbPs here at Paizo before taking on a second campaign as GM. Hopefully at worst we don't lose more than two players, and ideally I should hope not to lose any, as everyone selected looks really interesting and I am very much looking forward to running this campaign.
Selected:
Arnulf Juniper the Hunter - Arie IJzer
Ary Bishop the Ranger - Hotaru of the Society
Geligee Geerwander the Wizard - Patrick McDade
Kira Holt the Bard - Pathfinder Zoey
Paza the Druid - Aebliss
Pyotr Orlovsky the Paladin - P33J
Discussion thread will be going up momentarily, and I'll post the recruitment thread when I get home tonight. (Approximately 12 hours from now, due to travel time and such.)
