The Drow city of Kev'ronn is one that everyone knows, after all it is the only one that rises above the surface. Many people head to the city to trade and receive the quality items that are made by the Drow there. It's not strange for the occasional person to go missing in the city, after all that happens even in the most normal of cities, but one day, a very important person goes missing, Father Dawnsinger, a cleric of the Platinum Dragon Balserius. There are many reports of two Drow entering the temple, but none ever walking out. Investigation reveals no signs of struggle or any blood. For some reason you are in the city, whether it be to do some trading, look for an adventure or maybe someone you knew disappeared.

(Why are you in the city of the Drow and why would you care about the priest going missing? I need this to help with the setting of the scene.)

Velkyn was sent by his father, Lord Vlonlil of House Millitharn, Kev'ronn, to first find a group to either join or form and proceed to the temple in which Father Dawnsinger and other drow townsfolk have disappeared without a trace. The reasons behind this mission is to find Father Dawnsinger and drow townsfolk alive, bring them home, and end the disappearances because disappearing customers and townsfolk is bad for trade. In addition, if Father Dawnsinger is a reputable Cleric of Balserius, no lord or townsfolk wants to anger the God of Good Dragons and have him punish the city directly or indirectly to what extent, no one wants to imagine. Lastly, finding Father Dawnsinger and ending all of the disappearances will bring glory to House Millitharn as the greatest noble house in Kev'ronn that ended the disappearances, saved trade, and perhaps saved the city from Balserius' wrath?

Malkaer is a recent arrival at Ninevrah. He has not said where he hails from, but he obviously is from another city, deeper under the mountains. If asked what he is doing in Ninevrah, he will say that he is but a passing mercenary, looking to make his way in the world. In truth, he is a fugitive.

Malkaer was noble in his house, rising through the ranks through skill at arms as a spellblade. He fought in inter-house skirmishes, winning glory for himself and his more well connected patrons. This changed when he found his Black Blade. He had taken it as a trophy from a rival noble that he had killed in a skirmish, and he thought that it would have been just that. To his surprise, he found that the blade was intelligent, and that it had bonded to him.

The blade had a single mission, and it was a simple one. To belong to a worthy warrior. It did not care what it's wielder fought for, it only cared that it was to be used with skill and panache. This would have been fine, were it not for the...incident.

Malkaer had been sparring with a superior of his, a noble of little skill with the blade but great political might. Of course, Malkaer wanted to let the other noble win. The sword would have none of that. It took his intentional sloppiness as a sign of weakness, and to Malkaer's surprise it took over. He blacked out, and when he came to the other drow was dead at his feet.

He panicked, for the drow that he had killed had gotten his position not through skill of arms, but through political connections. Murdering him would earn him only enemies, for those who wanted him dead would naturally keep their hands clean and would not help him. So he did the only thing that he could do. He fled. He left his city that day, taking with him only the clothes on his back and what little he could carry. He did not stop fleeing until he arrived in Ninevrah, which to him, was the 'end of the world.' Throughout his journey he consistently attempted to throw the 'cursed' blade away, but it was to no avail. It was bonded to him for life. Eventually, he came to the conclusion that he would just need to learn how to master the blade, for he knew that by skill at arms he was worthy of it.

Now, in Ninevrah, he is but looking for a way to rebuild his life, and to make something out of himself. It is his ultimate hope to win enough gold and prestige that he can eventually return to his house with his head held up high, but he knows that such a goal is unlikely to bear fruit.

Zaknador was still waiting for his latest purchased to arrive in the city. It had been almost ten days since the caravan did not show up. Now this was not unusual, anytime a caravan travels in the underdark you are bound to get attacked. This worried him greatly as his last purchase was to include several prayer books and scrolls for exotic lands. Another two days passes and the caravan finally comes into the city. Albeit with less cargo than when he first left.
The merchant that he has dealt with for several decades inform him that they cargo was never shipped with them. His contact never made the arrangements to have it shipped.

Zaknador was upset to say the least. No one willingly defaults on a paid transaction with a drow. Wars have been started for far less. Problems being that no one could know of his dealings so he had to figure this one out on his own. He procured all the resources he needed and was off within a day. His travels took him to the surface city of Kev'ronn.

Zulan just arrived in Kev'ronn a few hours ago and searches for an elf named Farnan. Though Farnan was enslaved, disappearing drows might be somehow connected to his fate. So instead of asking every single drow about an elf, Zulan decided to investigate on the missing cleric when he heard about the recent events. He will gladly work together with other folks to find out more.

If Ninevrah is not the Same City as Kev'ronn:

Velkyn decided to take the underdark highway as a caravan guard between Kev'ronn to the capital city of Ninevrah, The City of Drow, to find this or form a search party. That way, if it is Velkyn's group that is successful, most likely drow found or a party formed in Ninevrah will not contained competing houses for glory in Kev'ronn and House Millitharn can capitalize on complete glory and prestige.

Goroglak's wandering had taken him far from the lands of the Bogstomp goblins, and now he found himself in a city with lots of the beings known as Drow. He knew that his kind could be considered slaves by the Drow, so he took care to walk small and avoid notice. Once he overheard a couple of Drow talking about the disappearance of Father Dawnsinger, he realized that a cleric of the god of good dragons might be exactly who he needed to protect him from enslavement. So, he went looking for him to find out what happened.

Zaun had been working away at his forge all morning. He had a sword he was making for a local noble that he didnt really like and he was anxious to finish the job and get on to something more stimulating. Still, he had to do a good job and so he continued with a practiced pace. This allowed him the moment to let his mind wander to the daily news he had heard.
So Father Dawnsinger has gone missing, eh? Hrumph. An here I was hoping he would put that mace I had crafted him to good use. It doesnt seem like it did him much good.
Zaun paused to stretch his back as his mind remembered back to his time with Father Dawnsinger. He had commissioned him to craft a mace for him and a sort of comradeship had formed between them over it. It disturbed him greatly that he would have gone missing, especially if the weapon had failed in his defence.
Right. Seems I am going to have to take a look up at the ol temple and see what I can see. he looks down at his work and sees the unfinished sword... Right. Finish this blasted sword first...
CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!

Sorry about that, I really could have had this up a day or two ago :/
An careful! You try an sell me for scrap an I'll turn you into mincemeat. These arms are razor sharp an my wit aint much duller!

APPEARANCE
Zaun is an unusual creature by anyones standards. To begin with, while he is humanoid he is also completely made of cold, grey metal. Were he to stand still, unmoving it would be difficult to distinguish him from a random jumble of scrap, parts and piping.
Another unusual facet about him is his back, for on his back he carries an assortment of swords that are slotted into his back, their blades dissapearing into the folds of his metal shell. Zaun seems to detest the idea of removing these blades and carries them everywhere (indeed, his strength seems inexhaustable and the extra weight hardly inconveniences him).
Lastly, Zauns skin has an unusual tendency to "crawl", especially when you are not looking at him directly. Indeed, everything about him seems to vibrate with life (ironic considering he is a machine) and quiet whispered conversations can be heard between Zaun and his equipment.

The few days following the disappearance of Father Dawnsinger brings great worry. Tension between the merchants and their Drow hosts is increasing, if a priest of a noble God is not safe then who is? Thus a notice went out inviting all who would to come and investigate his sudden disappearance.

"Hey ... Hey ... the metal man is not broken!"

Dressed in his finest House Millitharn noble sorcerer robes, Velkyn looks at the fine notice parchment that was sent out to all the noble houses to make sure he arrived at the prescribed location and morning hour. No worries for the light sensitive Drow, the city had special purpose street lights that purposely lowered the bright sunshine day to normal lighting comfortable for everyone to see well. The organizers had made sure it was in a more public area or no one would show up or appear to show up. At least, no one from the noble houses of Kev'ronn. Unlike more chaotic Drow cities, murder was not permitted if it was both public and can be proven through any means which included magic and powers of the mind. Public and indiscreet murder of any kind is bad for business and the spy network into the surface world. Although this was true about murder, Velkyn was still very alert and his head was on a swivel since drow are more related to panthera than pachyderms. "Ok, where is everyone? It is the spell caster that is supposed to show up when he exactly means to. Also known as, late."

Having arrived at the appointed place the night before, Goroglak had spent a pleasant evening hiding and sleeping in an empty barrel he had turned on its side. He had worried that if he went to one of the inns, someone would attempt to kidnap him to be sold as a slave, and he would not return to that life. Sleeping in a barrel was much easier to explain away than burning down an inn. He'd learned that two cities ago - although that was totally the dwarf's fault. He started it by trying to smash Goroglak "for the good of the world". Goroglak was realizing he didn't like dwarves that much, as every dwarf he'd met had either chased him, threatened him, or stared at him suspiciously. He was starting to wonder if he smelled bad to them or something.

Yawning and scratching, Goroglak pulls out an only slightly moldy hunk of cheese he'd scrounged the night before from his pack and starts munching on it as he walks into the public area. Unfortunately, his normal alertness lapses slightly as he's still waking up, and he doesn't notice the drow standing there until he's only a few feet away from him. Then he freezes, staring for a moment before saying, "Uh, hi. Is this the spot I'm supposed to come to look for the dragon cleric guy?"

His shop packed away, Zaun heads out.
Where am I going? Where does the notice say to meet?

Not outside of the reach of his blade.

"I have seen the notice and have heard the rumors. Does the temple's coffers invite adventurers to solve this problem of yours?"

To Goroglak

Velkyn hears wrestling and eating coming from inside an empty rain barrel, then Velkyn's eyes flash red like he is tapping into a powerful force. He hears a voice come from the barrel and is a little more relax knowing that whatever is in the barrel is equally surprised that Velkyn is there but does not relax fully. Velkyn replies in Common even though it is odd unless the living thing in the barrel is a visitor to the city, "We met, I am Velkyn of Noble House Millitharn, can you please come out of the barrel so I can see you." While waiting, Velkyn sees a Drow (Malkaer) enter into the Temple of Balserius. "It appears the exact meeting place was inside the temple. It is in small lettering at the base of the notice. It must have been a late add?"

Oops. I thought I did say I was leaving the barrel.

Emerging from the barrel is a goblin who smells perfectly fine (in his estimation) wearing somewhat worn and dirty clothing. Underneath, however, you catch the glint of mithral, and the crossbow slung on his back looks far better made than is typical of goblin work. He has a backpack underneath his cape and a buckler strapped to his arm, though his only melee weapon appears to be a plain, ordinary dagger. the hand holding the buckler is holding a piece of slightly moldy cheese as he munches away. "Hey, thanks," the goblin says with his mouth full, "I didn't actually see the notice, I just heard a couple guys talking about it and decided it would be a good idea to look for the guy. Are you here to search for the cleric of the dragon god too?"

Goroglak walks towards the temple, giving the drow a bit of a gap and moving as quickly as he can in the hopes that the taller being won't try anything.

Velkyn is taken back and a face of disgust washes over him as Goro exits the barrel. And while most Goblins are slaves for the drow, there is a very slight chance this could be a free goblin and customer. Velkyn's face returns back to normal and he tests the goblin by asking him a question in Drow in a haughty but diplomatic voice,

"Ph'dos naut sieva ulu b'luthyrr ulu uns'aa, Rothe? Usstan tlun natha Ilythiiri Sil'in! Vel'uss zhah dosst jabbuk"

In Common if you understand:

"Are you not suppose to bow to me, Slave? I am a Drow Noble! Who is your master?"

Velkyn watches and listens for Goro's response while walking with him to the temple and not closing the distance between them.

Goroglak has no idea what the drow said - maybe he cast some sort of spell? Goroglak wasn't sure. It sounded like some sort of command. Lots of people tried giving him commands. He just ignored them. After all, it's not like he had to listen to them. Although this guy had answered a question for him. Maybe he'd listen if the guy phrased the command as a request - and actually spoke in a language Goroglak understood.

Velkyn responds with a respectful nod, "I am Velkyn Millitharn of the Noble House, Millitharn. I was asking you questions in other languages to see if you were a goblin slave, however since you do not speak a word of drow or undercommon, you must be indeed be an outsider. I am going to warn you that normally goblins are the slaves for our kind and you may be treated as such upon first sight or they may think you are a slave to one of us drow. Here in Kev'ronn is the only place in the drow world that I would expect to see both slave and free Goblins. Although I must say, free goblins are indeed a rarity even in Kev'ronn. As for your early questions, not to be further inconsiderate since you could one day be a customer of House Millitharn, I am not sure what the pay is but it should be a good amount. Unfortunately, since it is a good nature temple, they may expect us to be bleeding hearts and search for this Father of theirs for free or low wages."

When both of them arrive at the temple door, Velkyn expects Goroglak to open the door for him. But alas, Goroglak just smiles at him. Velkyn rolls his eyes, and opens the door and enters the temple first. He holds the door until Goro grabs the door, then lets go. "Come on Mr. Goroglak, let us see what Temple of Balserius has to offer me ... I mean us?" He leads the way to where everyone is gathering.

Although a little disgusted to talk to the goblin in respect, Velkyn is also happy that Goro is not a competing Noble Drow of Kev'ronn that could challenge him for noble house glory, and slightly Goro could be a customer of House Millitharn some day.

Zulan appears on the place in front of the temple. In his hand the holds a small notice that invites everyone to come and help to find the missing priest.

"This has to be the temple. So, who wrote this request for help..?"

He looks around and sees a drow and a goblin talking and then entering the temple.

"Unusual.. A drow talking with a goblin? Normally they command them, if they speak to them at all."

Zulan follows them into the building and coughs slightly behind them to get their attention. He greets the drow with a respectful bow and the goblin with a friendly nod of his head. He begins to speak in his best elven to the drow: "Vedui' ar- mori edhel." An elf or drow would immediately hear his bad accent but it seems more courteous to him to greet them in their own language. Then he turns to the goblin and greets him with a simple hello in common. "Please excuse the disruption. Are you here to search for Father Dawnsinger as well?"

Elven translation:
"Greetings noble dark elf"

@Velkyn: With drow language you mean elven, right? Just making sure if I can understand it or not.

Edit: Was writing for too long. Edited the post a little to fit the new situation (velkyn and Goroglak entered the temple while I was writing).

Elven:
"And greetings to you as well. I am here for the same task as yourself. I am Malkaer-" he stopped there, and after a second's thought said [b]"-a stranger to this city, as I suppose you are. And your name is?"

Velkyn replies in drow, "Nindol gol zhah naut ussta rothe, uk zhah natha ves a'leai duul'sso Gol nindel dos er'griff shlu'ta ragar wun Kev'ronn. He then gives Malkaer a more respectable bow from the neck without taking his eyes off Malkaer.

Drown to Common:

"This goblin is not my slave, he is a very rare free Goblin that you only can find in Kev'ronn. And if you expect him to be free, you have to treat him that way in this city by law until you find out differently. Enough about him, he is still only a goblin, I am Velkyn Millitharn of the Noble Millitharn."

He then looks at Zulan, nods back, and replies, "Yes, this is the gathering place for the Father Dawnsinger search party." He then walks towards Malkaer with or without the others following him.

(To make it easy, I am thinking Drow and Elves know both languages since they are/were mortal enemies and are related.)

As you all gather in the temple you look around and see many pieces of artwork depicting a silver Dragon. At the front of the temple flanked by a pair of doors is a statue of a Dragon constructed of what appears to be pure mithral. Seconds later a young man with blonde hair enters the room, "Is this everyone?"

Velkyn is impressed by the art work and dragon made from mithral, he thinks to himself, "I wonder if that dragon animates?"

Velkyn nod bows only out of respect to the blonde hair man "If they are, it is their loss, what do you have for us? Please talk about the drow and your Father Dawnsinger that is missing?"

"Lord Millitharn, I did not expect to see a respectable member of any of the houses here..." He looks at the others, "Back to the matter of Father Dawnsinger's disappearance. Three days ago two die came to Father Dawnsinger asking for guidance, I mean no ill to any Drow of this company, but most Drow do not come to Balserius due to their lies that are so common. The Father was estatic and took them to his study. That was the last time I saw him."

Velkyn nods in respect, and thinks to himself, "Finally, the respect I deserve." Then he hears a slight about the drow, and clears his throat, "Yes, Priest of Balserius, no need for sly comments about the drow. After all, two drow are already present to search for your Father Dawnsinger. Now before you are a good lad and showing us the study, what is the reward for locating your Father?"

Drow in pathfinder speak Elven as a language. Now this is the DMs world so that could totally change.

As the other have all gathered together in the temple talking with one another a male drow enter and walks up to an acolyte. The drow is wearing robes of black, lined with a deep purple.
I wish to speak to....
He is interrupted when a young man with blond hair enters the room
never mind, I have found him.
He turns and a simple nod of his head towards the young man to indicate that he is here.

Noble House Millitharn? Well, the priest did confirm it. What was a noble doing here? Malkaen had an excuse. A good one, he believed. But if he wasn't currently so out of favor he would never be caught dead here. Was the priest politically connected? Would it embarrass another house to find the killers? Was Velkyn out of favor as well? It would explain the 'free' goblin companion. He was now paying more attention to his companions...

K-Nobility to see what I know of them: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (3) + 12 = 15

Well that's what happens when you are from a different city I suppose

After packing up his forge, Zaun heads over to the temple. Once there he slips in the front door just as a young man with blonde hair addresses the gathering, asking if all are present.
Zaun takes a look backward and over his shoulder out the front door and sees no one else coming up the steps.
Yup. Looks like it.

As the man is speaking and informing the people present about the current situation Zaun takes the time to observe the people in front of him and taking the opportunity to study the mithral dragon more closely.
Quite an odd collection of people we got gathered here. I see Nobles, slaves and even some sort of half-outsider by the looks of it. Course even amongst such a group I would be the unusual one, Heh.
Now, this dragon. WOW! its breathtaking. Can you imagine what this thing must be worth? If that thing is pure mithral, and not just coated then it must have come from the elemental plane of Earth. Must have. Alright I'll shut up and listen now, stop nagging me!

The weird construct seems to be mumbling to itself as it studies the statue while listening in to the man talk.
Craft: Weapons to gain an understanding of the statue: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (19) + 12 = 31
He is VERY interested and studying it closely >_>

Not sure how to take that XD

Edit: I was thinking, for my languages I took Common and Terran because that was the closest I could think of to an actual "Machine Language" but now that I am thinking of it Elven would make significantly more sense considering I live in a Drow city and was even a Drow slave at one point. Would it be alright if I switched my language to Elven? It would also let me communicate with the party better :)

Zulan follows Velkyn towards Malkaer. "My name is Zulan", he says in common so the goblin also would understand him. "and you're right. I'm new in this city. A..." he pauses for moment. "A friend send me to find his brother who disappeared as well." Interrupted by some metallic noise coming from the door he stops and turns around. He sees Zaun and is surprised by his look. "I've been travelling for a long time but I don't think I ever saw something.. someone like this."

He greets the metal man and also the other drow he just noticed with a nod of his head before he proceeds walking to Malkaer and the blonde man.

"So, could you show us where Father Dawnbringer took the drows? Maybe we can find a hint what happened?

As Velkyn and Goroglak enter the temple

"Nope, not a slave at all. I know that usually my kind are, so I've been laying low. Why do you think I was sleeping in the barrel instead of an inn? Didn't want to risk burning the inn down because some drow got it into his head to kidnap me and sell me for a slave. Although, it was a fairly comfortable rain barrel. I've slept in worse."

Goroglak walks into the open door and gawks at the mithral dragon, so much so that he doesn't notice the second drow for a bit. Once he does, he gives a small jump as a somewhat fiery looking guy walks in. Deciding it best to start walking small again, he goes quiet and merely listens to the bigger folks talk until the acolyte comes out. Well, they won't try anything with him here, no doubt.

"Yeah, we should start in the study. We can probably find something in there if that's the last place he went. Which way?"

Suddenly remembering that he's holding half of the hunk of cheese, he shoves the rest in his mouth and begins loudly chewing.

It is only cool if it is Lion Force Voltron ... LOL. That was cool when I was growing up and after Voltron was Robotech where I lived.

Velkyn looks at the eager Goblin, "I thought you wanted the reward information first, just like myself, Mr. Goroglak? In addition, I would like to make a request on top of the reward you have for us unless you have taken note how things work around here Mr. Priest of Balserius?" He then looks back at Malkaer and Zaknador with a smirk. Then Zaun catches his attention and speaks out in Drow Sign Language and points at Zaun.

DROW SIGN LANGUAGE:

"What the hell is that?! I wonder if it could be sold for as much or more than that Mithral Dragon?"

Then he stops realizing the Priest may know Drow sign language since he lives in a Drow city. He looks at the Priest to see if the priest looks angry for talking about selling the Temple's mithral dragon. Although, quite honestly, Velkyn would probably melt the dragon down to make Drow Surface Chain and Plate, and make a good deal of money after saving a set of Drow Surface Plate.

Malkaer, who was frankly put starved for conaraderie due to his flight, signaled back

"It would be a wonderful prize for any house. If it could be subdued, it would indeed be worth a small fortune."

Velkyn attention signals and signs to both Malkaer and Zaknador with a straight face but there are settle games afoot,

Drow Sign Language:

"Excuse me gentlemen, what Noble Houses of Kev'ronn do you belong to?"

Male Emberkin (Aasimar with Peri-Blooded heritage) Wizard 5

Zulan looks back and forth between the drows as they're making signs. Wondering what they discuss he takes a cautious step backwards in case of an ambush.

"Oh, yeah! There's a reward for this, right? Just gotta make sure."

The goblin looks bewildered as he glances between the the three drow's silent communication. He has yet to notice the Metal Man (Zaun) yet.

Though it called him to do so, Malkaer knew that revealing his noble status would be a mistake. At least until he had decided that he had found an ally he would see more profit in aiding him rather than selling him out.

Drow Sign Language:
"I am a mercenary, whose last employer was inconsiderate enough to get himself and his associates killed. With my patron gone, I left my last city and am merely looking for work that is as profitable as my last venture." He subtly motions to his fine clothes as he mentions profit.

Bluff: 1d20 ⇒ 5

Both drow can likely tell that Malkaen isn't being completely honest, or is at least not mentioning important details

The priest does not seem to react to the sign language, but at the mention of the study he motions to the door opposite to the one he came from. "You may go in there and look around, that was the Father's study," (The Drow make sense motive checks)
