Homebrew AP: Mercenaries (Inactive)

Game Master Duboris

Chul'Galbrann, the sky city of heroes, is the home to many mercenaries and great men and women. Join our handful of heroes as they discover great mysteries, fell legends, and defeat unparallelled odds.

They might also do some plumbing.

After a few second of particularly unsettling work, the group successfully sheds the local goblins of their mortal coil. The work is grueling and leaves a bad taste in everyone's mouth but Rova's, but, after a moment of thinking, you realize that these things would likely have done the same to you, under the proper circumstances. Just another reason to finish the job you came here to do.

The priest says a quick prayer over the goblins. It was a necessary thing for the greater mission, and certainly if tables had been turned their enemy would have done the same or worse, but he prays for their spirits to wing swiftly to pharasma's acre anyway.

"Best keep moving. Lots of ground to cover and we cannot afford so many distractions.". Once the potentially valuable dresses are stowed away Deylar casts a guidance spell just to feel the touch of Nethys before continuing on with the others.

Rova followed Deylar and Aviz out of the room with a disturbing smile on his face. He piped up "This mission is shaping up to include a right proper amount of slaughter Rovagug will it." the tone of his voice is cheery.

Lein, just another little bit on your part. You'll be seeing each other rather soon, and the sooner we get this party back together, the sooner things will really kick off... I say months after the game has started.

Leaving an uncomfortable number of goblin corpses behind the lot of you, and heading on farther ahead, the group comes to a number of stairs, and after just a moment of scouting around, come to find a drop-down ladder at the top of the ceiling. A simple mage-hand from Deylar is all it takes to drop it, though the trapdoor above it betrays the sound of chaos above. The chaos to speak of, is uncertain, but mostly consists of goblins freaking out and shouting "Fire" in the distance, surprisingly in common.

Aviz motions for the others to stay there, going on ahead silently.

Tiefling Cleric of Nethys (Ecclesitheurge) 5 / Empyreal Sorcerer 1

The priest quickly thinks through the spells he has prepared to cast for the day, trying to balance the value of using them against the need to conserve them for the really big challenges.

"I can make us truly silent for a time, but it would render everything else around us silent as well......" Not sure if bringing silence to the chaos would hide them or reveal them faster, Deylar holds back as the stryx creeps forward to investigate.

Rova waits for Aviz to return for what must have been days. He snuck after the bird man.

Stealth: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14

Looking around the present room doesn't reveal much of anything, but as Aviz checks the situation above through the trapdoor, a rather decent number of goblins have collected around the sudden wildfire to the opposite of the area, and he can't even make out the present fire. There's roughly 16 goblins that have collected around the flame, each of which have the dark-ash on their bodies, but none seem to have the stripes on their bodies that seem to signify significant members.

Aviz comes back and reports. "We can probably take them, but I don't know how to do it without raising the alarm. Any ideas on how to either sneak past or kill them quietly?"

Tiefling Cleric of Nethys (Ecclesitheurge) 5 / Empyreal Sorcerer 1

"I have no wizardly magic that could take out so many, forget doing it quietly. I do have the silence spell and I can summon a mist to hide us?"

The priest is not sure either option will help, and potentially either could draw attention to them faster.....

is the trap door right in their midst or is there a chance to sneak by?

I'm afraid I must finally accept that this game is not going anywhere. I will be hiding this thread so I no longer get notifications. If the game starts moving again please PM me, as I will be happy to continue if we get an acceptable posting rate going.

Bump to mark inactive, for some reason the boards undid that.

Tiefling Cleric of Nethys (Ecclesitheurge) 5 / Empyreal Sorcerer 1

i have been waiting, I see no option to mark it myself?

This game's dead, gentlemen. I am graciously sorry but after so many absenses and college-related AND family related mayhem as of late, I can't in good graces give you a good campaign. I'll jot all of your names down, however, and PM you should the opportunity arise again.

My deepest apologies for the poor performance.
