Desiree Deathrage |
"Wait up, shiny!" Desiree calls out after stowing her gear. "Miss Britches can't move that fast. While I wouldn't mind losing her," she says between heavy breaths at the exertion of catching up, "She always finds me eventually, and she gets mean when she thinks she's missed something."

The narrow tunnel twists and turns for several hundred feet before slowly opening to a wider passage. A large hole spans the cave’s width and stretches ten feet down the path. At the bottom of the pit lies a small bundle of cloth.
The hole is 10' wide and 10' deep.
Sorry about the delay, getting situated into work + baby was a bit exhausting but it's evening out now!!!
Chyras LeBlanc |
"Does anybody have a piece of rope for de man to climb down from?"
"Along wit dat, i can light any object so you can at least see a bit in dat darkness."
GM Hills |
The pair find a fine blue cloak with wave patterns in the hole, bundled up. Once in the hole, you can see that there are dark spike down there as well and while they are easily avoided once down there, if anyone had tried to jump the hole or fallen in...it would have been a sticky situation.
Rayvness Shadow |
"Well it seems we're all headed in.. Chyras would you mind making this pebble glow?" She holds out a pebble for the light spell.. this way she can hide the light if neccssary.. She then climb down the rope.. Take 10
Desiree Deathrage |
"Can someone hand Miss Smiley-Britches down to me. She's not really made for climbing."
Desiree reaches up to grab the grinning crocodile, then carries her be the tail to the other side of the pit and flings her up onto the other side.
"If anyone else needs help, let me know."
Peran |
"I'll let somebody a little uhh... stronger hand you down the Misses. I could use a hand myself though." says Peran nervously.
With the use of Rope and a wall Peran should be able to climb up and down the pit without too much trouble.
GM Hills |
With a little work and some group help, the entire group is able to get over the pit.
The tunnels continue on, leading deeper beneath the Kortos Mounts until they eventually open into a large cavern. What must have once been beautifully carved reliefs and inscriptions have since weathered heavily, their features dulled and softened to the point that it is hard to distinguish what each once depicted. A wide tunnel exits the cavern on its far side, and blue-burning torches line the passageway’s walls.
I'll post this information tonight when I get home based on how many successes there are. It's a lot to type if you do well, so I'll wait and see how you do!

Desiree peers at the carvings on the wall, taking care not to touch them. If she sees any that intrigue her, she will try and copy them onto a piece of crumpled parchment, using one of her claws as a quill, and her own blood as ink.

The walls depict twelve distinct stories.
Unfortunately, time has harmed many of the images. Only four of them are still legible.
The group easily deciphers what is before them, lit by a number of everburning torches.
It is clear that each image represents one of the twelve faces of Aroden.
The Beggar is depicted kneeling with an alms bowl raised high, representing Aroden espousing humility in all, lest they forget their shared humanity.
The Farmer is depicted plowing four lines in a field, retelling Aroden’s prophecy that humankind would prepare the rocky earth for planting and over generations wear the pebbles down into fertile soil.
The Soldier is depicted bearing a lantern through the streets of a city, following the dead god’s prophecy that the vigilant shall carry light to the darkest corners of the world to banish the shadows.
The Scholar is depicted writing on a piece of parchment and then reading from it to passersby, just as Aroden was said to smile on those who recorded history and other knowledge to share it with others.
Desiree Deathrage |
Desiree studies the picture of the Beggar. Then she thumps the crocodile with her spear, and uses it to point at the picture. "See! See! That's what you've done to me, that right there."

The soft light of the surrounding fungus mixes with the flickering glow of the nearby torches to reveal a grand chamber. A large pool of water along the chamber’s southern edge reflects the blue and green radiance to illuminate the massive stalactites that cling to the ceiling overhead. Two other tunnels branch off from this area, leading to the east and west.
Rising up from the pool is a column of rock with steeply sloped sides and a flat top, as if someone had sawn off the top of a massive stalagmite. A miniature city carved from this same stone occupies nearly the entire surface. Tiny trinkets such as ancient coins, polished semiprecious stones, and ornately braided loops of string are scattered throughout the diorama, and pale cave frogs clamber atop it. The smooth cavern floor is
covered in gravel and pebbles along the edge of the pool, and several foot-long centipedes prowl among the gravel in their search for prey.
Kneeling in the water is a man with obvious gills on the side of his neck.

"Well i'll be... never 'ave i seen one of dem before."
That aid, he looks around him to see if they are alone with this man or if any others are present.

But he's not used to caves, as such misses anything completely.
Desiree Deathrage |
Muttering to Miss Smiley-Britches to stay out of the water, Desiree approaches the miniature city with some trepidation. She looks around it, wondering if she will be able to recognize any of the buildings.
GM Hills |
As she approaches, the man in the water looks up to her, a look on his face that is nearly unreadable.
"Who are you...what are you doing here?"

"We're here cause we're supposed to take a test during the full moon. Not sure why. And then there was a minotaur. You know, the big guy with horns?" Desiree holds her hands up to the side of the head like horns. "So we ran in here to hide."
