Ezren's magic missile disassembles the remaining skeleton where it stood, the clatter of its bones hitting the ground echoing throughout the chamber.
Kyra, still unconscious and wounded, seems to stabilize, but the flow of blood from Valeros's neck continues its steady gushing flow.
Valeros (-2/12 HP, unconscious, dying)
Kyra (-7/10 HP, unconscious, stable)
@Valeros DC 12 Constitution check to stabilize. @Ezren and Merisiel DC 15 Heal check to stabilize Valeros. May I suggest I of you makes the attempt and the other aids (only have to make a DC 10 Heal to aid for +2).
Ezren Geitus
After both Kyra and Valeros are stable, Ezren rifles through there packs looking for a healing kit.
"Merisiel do you have a healing kit on you? We can try to treat their wounds and get them conscious so I can have Kyra drink this potion. Holding up the potion vial they found earlier.
"Then maybe she an heal Valeros."
Ezren Geitus
A after a fruitless search of the groups gear. "Well so much for that idea. I'll just pour it down Kyra's mouth and hope it helps. Here goes nothing." Ezren moves Kyra to a better position then slowly pours the contains of the vial into her mouth. "Whatever God you pray to I hope she..he..it helps you now Kyra."
PFBB GM
When the last of the potion empties down Kyra's throat, the injured cleric gasps back to consciousness (heals 7 HP). Though she's in rough shape, Kyra is alive and coherent.
Valeros (-2/12 HP, unconscious, stable)
Kyra (0/10 HP, disabled)
Kyra is disabled, but should be able to manage a spell or channel energy - If you have exactly 0 hit points, you are disabled, and on your turn you can only take a move action or a standard action (not both), plus a free action. If you take a standard action, you lose 1 hit point after completing the action, unless that action heals you. If losing this 1 hit point puts you at –1 or lower, you fall unconscious and are dying. Healing that raises your hit points above 0 makes you fully functional again, just as if you’d never been reduced to 0 or fewer hit points.
Potion - Kyra: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Kyra Roessler
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
The potion has a visible effect on Kyra. Instead of lying on the ground silently, she begins to groan and shiver. Her eyelids flutter open. She remembers what happened to her.
Feeling physically weak, she grasps her holy symbol with both hands and offers a plea to Sarenrae. "Bless... us..."
Channel Energy: 1d6 ⇒ 6
A wave of energy envelopes the party, healing all close by.
GM, so the potion brought me up to 0 hp, which is disabled. I used a standard to use my channel energy, which caused 1 hp damage after it finished, bringing me to 5/10 hp - right?
Edit: Ninja'd. But at least we rolled the same thing for the potion.
PFBB GM
When hit by the wave of holy energy, color returns to Valeros's cheeks and the fighter is able to sit up without much pain. Kyra, too, appears to be in much better shape.
Valeros (4/12 HP)
Kyra (6/10 HP)
Yeah, lucky rolls there. Otherwise, Ezren was going to have to make a deal with the goblins. And my reading of the Disabled rules was that you never lose the hit point if your standard action heals you.
Kyra Roessler
Kyra stands up and dusts the dirt off her. "Ugh, those skeletons were nasty!" She checks her gear. "Everything seems to be in place..."
She takes a look at Valeros. "Oh my, you seem to be a little worse for wear, and I'm not feeling that great either. I believe another prayer is in order."
She again holds tight to her holy symbol, closes her eyes and offers a silent prayer to Sarenrae.
Channel Energy: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Cool, then Kyra will be back to full health.
She looks to her companions. "Listen, before we face this dragon, I should offer up another prayer. I know a prayer of protection. It will offer us a boon against evil. However, the duration is limited. I will be sure to offer this prayer before any fighting breaks out."
Merisiel The Silent
You think it's safe to rest, um, here, I say as I look around at the ruins. What if there are more of those skeletons around, or what if the Goblins decide they don't think we're funny anymore and instead think we look delicious? I'll tell you what. I don't need to rest, very much, I feel fine, thanks to Kyra, so why don't the rest of you get some sleep. I'll keep an eye out for trouble, and if we're lucky, I'll wake you all up in a few hours. How does that sound?
Kyra Roessler
Kyra nods, "I do think it's wise for us to rest. Ideally, I would need a full 8 hours' worth of rest to regain my faculties. Merisiel, if you are okay with taking watch, I greatly appreciate it. Valeros, as you still seem to be wounded, allow me to try and heal you some more - my healing energy will be spent for the day, but I'll be back to full curing faculties after resting."
Channel Energy: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Valeros, Longsword Smasher
|
With that I'm up to 11 hp so if I'm not mistaken I should be up to full health with just a 4 hour rest
"Meri, if you would like to at least have a little rest you can wake in in a few hours and I'll take a shift on watch."
PFBB GM
Day or night, you are not sure due to the dungeon's lack of natural light, but you all manage to get a full night's rest. The only disturbance suffered over the course of the evening is a slew of insults shouted up the cliff by Grumble regarding Valeros's personal hygiene and outdated hair style (at least in goblin culture). Once everyone is awake and their hunger is sated by their remaining trail rations, the party begins its preparations for whatever lies next within Black Fang's Dungeon.
Prepare your spells and do whatever else you need to do. Then, you may approach the eastern staircase.
Kyra Roessler
Kyra keeps eye contact with Merisiel. "And how often did you fall unconscious to our foes? Did not the Dawnflower see fit to give Valeros and I the brunt of the attack from those skeletons?" Kyra's voice grows louder, spittle forming at the corners of her mouth.
"Oh yes, you did get burned a little back in the chamber with the talking statues. But that was because of your lack of faith - you did not show proper respect when it was asked for. No - do not take your own foolishness as a sign of the diminishing of Sarenrae's power."
With that, Kyra makes her way around the corner to the base of the stairs.
Ezren Geitus
Thanks for reminding me MM Wand 4 charges
"For good or ill let's get this over with." Ezren steps up next to Kyra. Ezren's Move
Valeros, Longsword Smasher

As everyone wake Valeros is steaming with frustration over the taunts and heckling he's been getting ever since Merisiel woke him for his shift at watch. "Can't they recognize someone who could smite them with just the flick of his wrist when they see him?" said to no one in particular. "Let's get going before I have to jump back down there and kill those little piles of shit."
Valeros will run out to the front of the group to defend the group. I'm not at work so if someone would be so kind as to move me please.
PFBB GM
The winding passageway ends in a staircase in the back of an ancient warren set inside the hillside. Open to the sky above, this crumbling ruin is littered with debris.
On the far side of the chamber, a pile of glittering gold and sparkling trinkets is piled up into a sizable hoard.
Went ahead and moved you all through the passageway and down the stairs. Feel free to move yourself to a different spot if you don't like where I've put you.

Merisiel The Silent
I'd like to sneak to this position
Okay, I whisper, let me scout ahead a bit, first

Almost as soon as the words leave Ezren's lips, the view of the treasure is obscured as a terrible winged dragon swoops into view. As it snarls, its black fangs drip with green acid that burns the floor where it lands.
"Fools!," the creature snarls. "Have you actually come all this way to slay the dragon? Your mothers read you too many bedtime stories!"
So focused is the dragon on Ezren, Kyra, and Valeros, that is does not seem to notice Merisiel tucked into a dark corner of the chamber.

Valeros charges straight forward, 4 spaces or the east, Black Fang with his Dragons Bane Longsword held over his head yelling "AAAAAHHHHHH!!!!" Valeros will use his Power Attack.

The black dragon flinches a bit when pelted with Ezren's magic missile and easily swats Valeros's swing of his sword aside with its massive claw.
"Ha!" Black Fang cackles. "Pathetic!"
A glowing green light emanates from the dragon's mouth as he spews at Valeros. The fighter is engulfed in acid, which scalds his skin (for 13 damage) and drops him to the ground unconscious and dying.
"Pay witness to the fate of those who challenge Black Fang!" the dragon boasts.

Everyone (except Merisiel) can go now in whatever order. @Valeros Remember to make your Constitution save. @Merisiel I resolved your turn for you (drink potion, get into flanking position). Good luck - you'll need it.

Valeros should have +2 more to hit with the sword. 11(roll)+2(charge)+3(str)+3(sword)-1(power attack)+1(base attack) = 19
please be a hit or we are dead
PFBB GM
@Ezren You are right. Valeros hits Black Fang for 20 due to the dragon bane sword he is using. @Valeros The dragon's acid breath still takes you out.
Valeros cuts a long gash down the dragon's side and Black Fang lets out a horrific bellow before spraying the fighter with a deadly dose of acid.

"Valeros!" Kyra rushes to the fighter's side and touches him on the shoulder, taking her holy symbol in her other hand.
"Oh Heavenly Sarenrae! I ask that you protect this brave man from evil. Bless him with the warmth of the Dawnflower!"
Merisiel The Silent
Since I go after the dragon, again, I will maintain my stealthyness, and move if i have to in order to be in a flanking position. I will attack on my turn (in addition to any move I have to make, first)and this attack I believe will grant me sneak attack bonus damage, be at a +2, because I am invisible before I make the attack, and the dragon does not get to add its dexterity bonus to AC, right?
Maintain Stealthyness while Invisible: 1d20 + 20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 20 + 6 = 32
Are there any other Buffs I am missing, like Bless, or anything?
Ezren Geitus
Kyra buffing a unconscious Valeros seems useless to me, unless I'm missing something healing would be better.
Ezren moves back up the stairs and shoots another Magic Missile at the Dragon. Ezren's Move Magic Missile: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Black Fang snarls as he is hit with a second magic missile. He then raises both claws to strike at Kyra, following with a snap of his massive jaws. While not managing to get his teeth on the cleric, Black Fang does pummel her to the ground with his clawed feet (for 10 and 6 damage).

Black Fang hisses and snarls when hit with another magic missile. Merisiel's rapier does not manage to pierce his thick scales, nor does he even seem to notice her attack.
"Your pathetic attempt at heroism tire me," he bellows. "Leave now and live the rest of your days far from my sight. Take your fallen; they will do nothing but stink up my lair with their rot!"

What a nice guy - he's giving you an out. Leave as cowards and live. @Kyra Rolled Constitution for you. You're stable now.
