*Bows* Thank you for the link.

Also, thank you for the advice. Much appreciated.

Meera - Uzziah has the right of it. You have 600 GP + 1 Shack + 1 Laborers OR Cutpurses to work with. Any starting gold for your PC should be spent on Gear.

FYI - Combat will play into the game occasionally, but we won't be rolling each round. Take a look at Uzziah's recent losses (from a couple weeks back) to see the style I'm describing.

You are welcome to collaborate with the other players as you like, or go strictly on your own.

Let me know if you have questions!

This looks like a lot of fun and I'd really like to get to know the downtime system a little better. Are you guys still open for another player?

cjabas - Pitch me a level 2 PC, and we'll talk. See character creation, plus conditions for Meera, in the posts above. Thanks for interest!

Sweet. Here's the flavor text:

From the farming outskirts of Oppara, Curdan was enslaved by his family to Vors at a young age to pay off a debt. Over years, he has bitterly awaited his vengeance of ruining Vors. Seen by most as only hired muscle, he has secretly developed his skills while out on assignments. A strong man is dangerous, but a smart man is deadly. This was the lesson of his first kill, one of Vor's competitors as he lay dying in Curdan's arms. Now sent from under Vor's shadow, his vengeance in nigh.

For Cyrioul:

Here's the character.

I'm still working on his gear and what I want for the 600GP. My idea is that in the past week I arrived in town and performed a heist on a nobleman and fenced a unique item that was acquired for him by the Spiked Hand. When it was fenced, a public argument between the noble and the guild became heated, both sides losing face in the process. They thought he was being greedy to claim the insurance and have it fenced himself (since they didn't perform the heist), and he thought they were liars and had stolen it over some slight and that they would eventually "find" it and return it for a hefty fee (which was thwarted when the item was recognized as his). In the aftermath, I approached the noble and convinced him that I could help him exact his revenge on the Spiked Hand for their betrayal. He has set me up with the 600GP, the shack, and the laborers (and this also explains my Bitter Nobleman trait).

Alright, I figured out what I want to do with my capital resources:

Organizations:
*Laborers (given)

Buildings:
"Tavern"
**Bar (250gp)
**Common Room (300gp)
**Storage (upgraded from Shack (given) 20gp)

30gp left to buy capital when I start playing.

Also, a few questions:

1. What happens as we grow our buildings? Do we need to destroy/buy other buildings to expand?
2. Are there set resources in the city that we can take over/fight each other over in a Capture The Flag kind of way?

For example, let's say the town has a Waterfront (4 Docks, 4 Storage, 1 Office, 1 Workstation). Owning pieces or all of the set resource would grant us bonuses or points of some kind to earn our way onto the city council. If we buy a storage there, it not only gives us bonus to earn gold, but also the option of Goods (either stolen or "taxed" from merchants using them). If you have the docks, they come attached with a team loyal to the owner of the dock or something. Crazy idea, but it could be fun.

Okay, I'm all set. How's it look?

If that didn't work for whatever reason, here's the url.

Chris!

My apologies, I saw your posts when I was busy one day, then forgot to get back to you about them. Curdan looks pretty good, and you've picked appropriate skills. Unfortunately, two of the feats you have should be combat feats, as a fighter, but you only have one (dodge). You should exchange one of the following for a combat feat: alertness, deft hands, stealthy.

Rooms chosen look good - you'll need to pay for a place to sleep if you don't have another shack to live in.

Re: Questions:
1) Nope, buildings just grow.
2) There should be, but I haven't introduced them yet, unfortunately. I'm working on how this might be possible (I.e. "Buying" a council seat for a set amount of capital), but the income levels have't forced this yet. Make sense?

Take a look, and when you are ready, use the template at the beginning of the discussion thread (as modeled by other players) to post 1-10/Lamashan/4710 AR.

Let me know if you have other questions!
